Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Morning Drive with Christie Live on demand TIS.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Eighteen on Classic Kids one O three point seven. Welcome
to your Monday. It is a rainy Monday.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
So just please drive carefully.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hopefully had a great weekend, less than forty three days
until Christmas.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Now just heads up. Just want to stress you out
a little bit more. Thanks. My name's Christy. Producer Karina
is here.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Actually no stress, just good vibes only. So want to
start your work week and you're Monday off with a
positive story, especially for the dog lovers, since my friend
Jeff and Florida says I'm not necessarily cool down with doggies.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Yeah, so I want to start it off.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Monicamatute is a dog foster mom in southern California and
she recently got a Chihuahua. I don't know if you've
heard about this story. It's been going viral on TikTok.
She got a chihuahua and she was fostering the chihuahua
until someone adopted it. And the chihuahua's name was Nacho,

(01:02):
and she was like, man, Nacho isn't really like responding
and he was kind of sad all the time. And
she's like, you want to go play, you want to
do something, and Nacho was not responding until one day
Monica switched it up.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Do you know Spanish?

Speaker 4 (01:19):
I had not thought of asking him anything in Spanish,
which is ironic.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
He's a tuola.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
First of all, don't just assume because he's a Mexican
dog guy, he speaks Spanish.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
But nachos folks Spanish. Oh that's so cute.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
So he was like, I don't know what you talk
about in English. But as soon as she said bama,
he jumps up and runs to the door and gets
super excited. It is really, really cute, and eventually, of
course he was adopted.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
He jumped into Rick slap and it was like, okay,
well that's that.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
I love it. Hey, dogs are bilingual. It is so true.
Does your dog Beneatha speak Spanish?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:05):
She does.

Speaker 6 (02:06):
My dad talks to her in Spanish and she responds,
You're like, let's go, vomenos, vomenos, let's go, and she's ready.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
She'll go to the door. I know what I saw
it on door the Explorer. Okay, Okaya's house.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah, we're going to Grandma's house. That is so cute.
Christy It is really cute if you want to see him.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
And then of course they named him Montoya instead of Nacho,
after Enigo Montoya from Princess Bride. But they said mostly
they just call him Echo. Now, okay, your son, did.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I say it right? He said it right? All right,
Bindingo Christy and not show the dog?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
All right?

Speaker 3 (02:50):
That was not WHOA. Check out the video. We'll post
it up at Classic Kids three seven. You haven't seen it.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
It is really cute because her face when she tries
to speak to him in Spanish and he jumps up.
The dog looks so excited, like, oh now you're talking
to me. All right, here we go. All right, good
vibes only. Like I said, got some simple minds in Fleetwood.
Mac coming up for.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
You on Classic Christie Live.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
It's six forty on Classic Kids one O three point seven.
Good morning, Welcome back to your Monday seven twenty eighty
minutes of commercial free music for your wet and rainy drive.
It is a wet and rainy drive, so please be
careful if you were on a motorcycle, if you were
in your car, especially if you're on a bicycle. You
know they always say don't drive through standing water. What

(03:38):
do you mean, Oh, like the like if it's flooding puddles. Yeah,
because you never know what's lurking at the bottom of
this puddle. So in Montreal, this woman was riding her bike.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Do do do do? Oh? No, you already know where
this is going.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
No, And she was like, I was riding through puddles
and there was no problem. And then she got to
a puddle with three pylons around it that should have
been red flag number one, but she said she had
been driving through puddles and so she didn't want to
drive around the stanchions or the pylons because it meant

(04:16):
going into the street a little bit. So she went
straight through the puddle and straight down a ten foot
construction drop.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
No way, busted in her nose had to have facial
reconstruction surgery.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Yes way, I wasn't aware that I was driving into
a puddle that was actually more like a pool. The
fact that I could just ride my bike into that
hole tells me that it wasn't properly secured.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
There's video, Wow, and I hate that the video is
so funny because Christy, it's like a cartoon that scared
he bike just goes whoo wheeled down. Oh my god,
her face, she literally face plants into this hole.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Luckily she was wearing a helmet. Doctor said if she wasn't,
she would not.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Be talking today.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
So just please be careful, like all the experts say,
do not drive, don't bite, don't motorcycle through standing water.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
Yea, oh god, I'm glad she's okay.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Yes, And the video because you know you want to
see it. Me running to see the video right away at.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Classic Kids one O three seven FM on Our Socials
listen for music on the Way from You two and
Leonard skinnerd on Classic Kits.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Classic Kids one three points That Crazy Train new with
Christie Live in Morning drops.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
All right eighty.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Minutes of commercial free music starting for you at seven twenty.
Right now today, the Crazy Train is headed out to
Miami Beach, Florida.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
I know it's strange. Nothing ever happens in Florida where.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
A YouTuber Jack Doherty his latest video stunt, ended in
handcuffs after Miami Beach police say he stepped into traffic
all for a YouTube stunt and a bet and refused
to move.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I guess.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
A couple nights ago, he and some friends are hanging
out in Miami Beach, and they dare him to go
into the middle of Washington Avenue, which is a really, really,
really busy street in Miami Beach. And so he's in
the middle of the street filming his YouTube content, blocking traffic,
oh gosh, creating a dangerous situation for the drivers and himselves.

(06:34):
And all his friends are filming, having a great old time,
and then the police come. They're like, get the hell
out of the street, and he's like, hold on once
I'm done with this, bet No. The bodycam footage tells
the rest of the story. The police are arresting him,
he's if you could just take these off, we could leave.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
No.

Speaker 6 (06:53):
No, yeah, come on, you're blocking traffic.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
No, yep.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
One YouTuber learned the hard way that, Yeah, it's not
all fun and game.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Oh.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
It says he was also holding some marijuana, which is part.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Of the arrest.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Well, he had more than marijuana in his pockets. When
they actually were going through his pockets, they pulled out
a couple of pills. So, yeah, if you're gonna do
some dumb stuff, at least come on.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Yeah for content so dumb.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
That is your daily crazy news store. You can ride
the Crazy Train every weekday at seven, ten and nine
forty and it's on demand at Classic Hits one o
three seven dot com.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Morning Drive with Christy Live on Classic Hits one oh
three point seven. Eight's time for the Great Debate.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
The self checkout is usually something that helps make your
grocery shopping easier and faster, but Krina wants to take
it away, so we all have to stand in line forever.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
I went to Walmart the other day and it's pretty
much all self checkout. I literally waited in line for
thirty minutes for the one woman in front of me
to scan all her groceries, and then she forgot something
so she walks away. But I'm like, it shouldn't take
that long for people to self check out, So I
just want to get rid of self checkout and.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Bring back all the cashiers. No, because it's such a hassle.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
Like every single time, we're waiting in line constantly for
people just to scan their groceries.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
I went to Target yesterday and the self checkout line
was the fastest line everybody, and then Mama was in
Target and I was like, Oh, thank god for self checkout,
and I was in and I was out. I know,
at the Walmart in San Leandro, they block off the
self checkout and like only the Instacart and door dash
kind of people can use the self checkout and everyone

(08:46):
else has to use the regular line.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
And it always irritates me because I'm like.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Oh, there's so many self checkouts, why can't we just
do it ourselves?

Speaker 6 (08:53):
Yeah, but there there's a lot of people not comfortable
with technology, so they spend like so much time trying
to figure out the simple buttons, don't.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
I just I'm not a fan. Oh man, I love it.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
It makes me feel like I'm playing grocery store like
when I was a kid.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I'm like, oh, you can scan it. Do doo doo
doo doo. Okay. Well do you think about self checkout?

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Do you want to make it inconvenient for the entire
universe like producer Karina or do you feel like you
want to just make things easier one eight sixty six
nine hundred and one three seven. Tap the red microphone
on our free iHeartRadio app to join in on this
morning's great self checkout debate. Hear from you next on

(09:35):
Classic Kits that to.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
The Great debate Classic Kits one oh three point seven.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Prettyce Akrena wants to do away with a self checkout
at grocery stores. Why it makes everything so much faster
and convenient. What do you think is the question this morning, Eric.

Speaker 7 (09:54):
I'm split. I'm keeping them at like a small place,
like a like a CVS, A Walgreens, But I'm dumpling
them at Walmart because Walmart got way too many workers
for me to be checking this stuff out myself.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
It is true, there are.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Hell of people always working at Walmart, and it still
seems like you can't get help.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
But all right, I will note that vote. Thank you
so much for the.

Speaker 7 (10:16):
Call, Eric, Yeah, you're welcome, loud the show.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Well, I appreciate you listening, Jayla. What do you think
keep the self checkouts or do away with them?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
I love not talking to anybody at a grocery store.

Speaker 8 (10:26):
I'm torm but I think you keep them.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
I think we keep them.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
You know, maybe I want to just buy oreos and
ice cream. That's rid of my business and my shame,
and I think that should be nobody else.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Hey, this is a no judgment zone, bra I will
note the vote. Thank you so much for checking in
for this morning's great debate. How do you feel about
the self checkout at stores? Do away with it or
keep it?

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Isabelle Karina, I am with you. Thank you? Oh, come
on you guys.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Okay, I'm sorry, I'm going to say it. Target it.
They'll knock a price on the shelf and then it
won't ring up right. And so now, if you're at
self checkout, you got to get somebody, show them the
picture on your phone that she took so that.

Speaker 9 (11:09):
You can get it.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
At the right price.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
If I'm gonna go through all that, I'm gonna talk
to a real person. I'm gonna give a person a job.
And then you know what if Walmart, if you're going
to have all self checkouts, then the price is better
be even cheaper because you're not paying for employees to
be there to check me out.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
All right, then, I mean you've made some good points.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
I still think it's fast through though, but I'll note
your vote.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Always appreciate you call it, Isabelle, have a great day.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
Thank you you do.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Where do you stand?

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Are you at Karina and Isabelle do away with the
self checkouts? Or are you team? Let's just get everyone
in and out as soon as possible one eight sixty six,
nine hundred and one thirty seven, Or tap the red
microphone on our free iHeartRadio app and you can join
this morning's great debate.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Hear from you next Beth.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Great Classic Hits one oh three point seven.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Self checkout. Is it time that we kick it to
the curb? Or do you appreciate being able to get
in and out like myself and unlike producer Karna who
wants us all to just wait in line.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
That's the question this morning.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Appreciate you calling Drew, like, what do you think about
the situation?

Speaker 9 (12:25):
I say, we just gotta have options and just keep
those self checkouts because you just never know, right, I mean,
it's not like we're paying for those things anyways. And
here's another thing.

Speaker 10 (12:34):
Wait, sometimes you go through pet your.

Speaker 9 (12:37):
Eyes checked out. Sometimes the cast ship takes long stuffs
talking too much of the customers. You can be waiting
and waiting for a while, right, and you're like, can
we get them going? Right? Sometimes people jump out of
there and jump over to self checkout and as much fast.
And I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 7 (12:52):
There's times I'm like, to we get this going.

Speaker 9 (12:54):
So I'm saying options, get options, open.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Option, everybody need. Thank you so much. I will note
your vote. Good morning, James, what do you think man.

Speaker 10 (13:05):
I'm telling you self checkout. I have a couple of
issues with the number one taking people's jobs. We all
we can't afford any more jobs to give away, but
we're giving them away and do it with AI and technology.
Number two after people don't know how to do it,
there's no tutorial or nothing. And number three California likes
to charge me for bags for doing their job back
in their groceries.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Not a fan. And the line is osach along.

Speaker 10 (13:25):
Yeah, when you got a line a mile long for
yourself checkout, that's a problem.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
The line can be hell along it self checkout, but
it moves so much faster. I'm just saying, got to
talk back whenever you want to join the fund or
just comment on anything in the morning, tap the red
microphone on our free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Always loved to hear from you.

Speaker 8 (13:42):
Good morning girls, It's Ninya from Aren weighing in on
the Great Debate. Well, I'm on team Karina. I agree
with Isabelle. I have yet to have a smooth interaction
with the computer. Every time I go through a self checkout,
it's like see the manager, see the manager, an identified object,
you the manager, and I can never get through quickly.

(14:04):
And I support humans and their jobs.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Okay, all right, then, well the people have spoken clearly
this Monday for the Great Debate, and.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
Most Christy has said, let's get rid of the self checkouts,
let's bring back cashiers.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
I'm not trying to take jobs away from the cashiers.
And I was trying to.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Get and you know, so much fun. I like to
use the little gun to the little do I like
to scan it like you know, it's fun.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
But then there's people that just take five years to
scan one item.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Gosh. I know, thank you so much. Always appreciate you
joining in on the Great Debate. And if you have
a great debate, maybe you got into it with your
friends about something you can always call in and uh yeah,
throw it out there. We'll put it out there for you.
Stick around. Got some White Snake and some Boston coming
up on Classic.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Kids Three Points with Christie Live in Morning Drives.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Today.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
He's a Crazy Train is heading out to Miami Beach, Florida,
where this YouTuber Jack Doherty ended his night in handcuffs
all over a YouTube stunt. This kid was in Miami
on Washington Avenue, which is a pretty busy street, and
stepped into traffic, block traffic so he could film a
video all over a bet. And so he's in the
middle of the street filming his YouTube content, blocking traffic,

(15:36):
oh gosh, creating a dangerous situation for the drivers and
himself and all his friends are filming, having a great
old time, and then the police come. They're like, get
the hell out of the street, and he's like, hold on,
once I'm done with this bet.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
No.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
The bodycam footage tells the rest of the story. The
police are arresting him. He said, if you could just
take these off, we could leave.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
No no works. Yeah, come on, you're blocking traffic.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
One YouTuber learned the hard way that, yeah, it's not
all fun and game.

Speaker 6 (16:08):
Oh. It says he was also holding some marijuana, which
is part of the arrest.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Well, he had more than marijuana in his pockets. When
they actually were going through his pockets, they pulled out
a couple of pills. So, yeah, if you're gonna do
some dumb stuff, at least come on. Yeah, that is
your daily crazy news store. You can ride the Crazy
Train every weekday at seven, ten and nine forty and
it's on demand at Classic Hits one, O three seven
dot com. Listen for Michael Jackson and that Tom's Diner.

(16:36):

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Love that song on the way on Classic Kits.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
