(00:00):
You know, it's been so longsince we've last talked to the Aftershow Army.
It's been ready for this six days. It's been six days. Wow,
yeah, because no, I thinkour last podcast was Tuesday. That
was Wednesday. Oh no, dowe have there's been a week yeah,
because we had that Access Day meetingon Wednesday. Oh wow, we didn't

(00:24):
do one. Maybe we did. It's been so long, but we're back.
It is is justin. It's Winnyand we're back after Memorial Day weekend
and we have a lot to cover. We have a lot of ground to
cover. Whinny. Let's go.Um, so can we have a meeting?
So making quick? What do youmean? Come on with the meetings.
This isn't fair. It isn't fair. I'm like, what meeting?

(00:46):
He's like, the one we have. I'm like, okay, fine,
Oh well that meeting is okay becausethey do jam In first. Bro,
it's a promotions meeting. No,I'm over. I'm over this. Whatever
we'll talk about we'll talk about here. No, you can talk about it
right now. What's the problem I'mtalking about it? Tell me why don't
why can't we alternate who goes first? Because jam and just up and leaves
when we get to kiss, Butkids with us sit through Jammon's mh,

(01:08):
Like, why can't we do everyother week so I can up and leave
and go to the gym. Andyou know what today, I'm not gonna
sit in. I'm gonna go tothe gym and I'm gonna put my air
pumps in and listen while in thegym. You know whose fault it is?
He m Dan Jump, Billy andLisa in The Morning Present behind the

(01:29):
scenes look into Boston's favorite morning showthat's a little too much information, The
after show podcast, who kis Justinand Winning? Sky gets a big promotion,
becomes program director and all of asudden, he just holding meeting his
hostage. That's right. It wasforty five minutes on nothing last week.
Yeah, I'm just kidding. Hewasn't. But shout out to DJ pup

(01:53):
Dog over Eric Jamon. Yeah,we have a promotions meeting, um,
but it starts at ten thirty. But they do jam in first, like
when he said, and that goesabout fifteen twenty minutes typically it was a
lot longer last week, and thenthey do kiss. But anyway, we
were back after a long weekend. How was your moral they weekend when you
were you were quite busy. Yeah, it was a combination of relaxation and

(02:15):
work and lots of things. Soshould I just start from Friday? Yeah?
Okay, So my sister got lasick, so I took it a boss
of vision to get her. Iwas done, really cool process. I
was able to see how it's done. I'm going to post it about it
today or tomorrow, I ask questions. Yes, okay, so I always

(02:37):
think this, Yeah, who wasthe first person to ever get lasic?
And think about it? Think aboutit. They invented the technology, the
laser, all that stuff. Theywho was the first person to test it
out to take the laser in theeye. That's an I mean that you
took one for the team because youcould go you could have gotten blind,

(02:59):
That's what I mean. It's kindof like law Musk has that brain chip
company. Yeah, and that's gonnabe a real thing, right, these
little chips they put in your head. And there are people that have been
trying it out, dusting it.What are those people? Anyway? Go
ahead? Anyways, so that processwas cool. The girl woke up and
the girl, my sister woke upthe next morning twenty twenty, it's mild.

(03:22):
I went with her to the fallbecause the next day you just go
back for them to check real quickat like in the morning, and she
read from like the twenty twenty line. She perfectly. Then they have they
call it the extra credit line, which is the you have twenty fifteen vision.
She had like three of the letterson the fifteen line. This girl
has been blind, so she wasten and she woke. It's just like,
how long is it? So thewhole process took less than two hours.

(03:45):
So you get in there and theystill, you know, they have
some text, go through different stuffswith you, just to make sure you
know everything's good. You do differenttesting or whatever. But the actual leasic
process was probably like from start tofinish was once they start with the with
the procedure, ten minutes maybe wow. So the bulk of the hour and
a half we were there was morelike prep work than making sure that you
know, she saw one person forthis and then one person for something else

(04:08):
or whatever, and um, andthen literally she was done. They sat
her up, they walked across fromto examine, checked her eyes, and
we left, like within five minutesof her surgery being one we left and
that's for life, right, hyeah, she it's wild. She and
then that day you just kind ofnap, you know, rest your eyes
obviously. But um, the nextmorning she could drive. I mean she

(04:30):
was out all weekend. Really yeah, she wasn't in bed all weekend.
No, it's literally just that daythat's crazy. Just that day you go,
you nap, you know what Imean, you close your eyes,
you put some they give you eyedrops and you know whatever. But the
next day on Saturday, she wasout. Was she singing any songs or
listening to music? I know whereyou're going with, but she belting out

(04:51):
the hits. That's a pretty yeah. So that was a really cool process.
Shout out to Boston Vision. Um, it was awesome. Doctor Burner
was her doctor. And the AbbeysI had called them the Abbeys. The
two tech girls are bothween an Abbeyand our sisters names Abbey, so that
was funny. Three Abbeys. Well, our sister was not part of it,

(05:13):
but they had two Abbeys where Icame with them. Um, and
then Rick, who's not a doctor, but I call him doctor Rick.
That's my guy. Anyways, Sothat did that, and then I went
straight from that. My dad hadto pick her up. It was in
Brookline because I couldn't drive her homebecause I had to go to see Nya
Horn. Oh see, you wentwith her and then left her. Yeah,
because I had a shoot over toCambridge to go interview now Horn.
Now, I think I did apretty good job. I don't know how

(05:35):
much of the interview that you listenedto or saw. Listen to the whole
thing. It was great, Okay, it was fantastic. Really, yeah,
that was awesome. Thank you.Yeah, and if it wasn't,
I would tell you. Oh,thanks, I was great. Oh that
means a lot, thank you.I was a little disappointed because they sent
me the email saying I couldn't askanything about one date. The only question
I wanted to ask was do theyhave a group a group chat? That

(05:57):
was kind of it because obviously theyprobably, I mean, they're probably not
a huge like, they're not allthe time. I'm sure they might chat
here and there. I'm sure theydo, right, So it's like I
just was curious about that. Ijust feel like I feel like radio people
get the shaft on these interviews. It's like when Lisa went to interview j
Loo. You know they get theOkay, j Lo does the Today Show
in the morning, Okay, ona Thursday, she talks all about Ben

(06:21):
and everything, and then she goesright from the Today Show to a studio
where Lisa goes in with other radiopeople can't ask about Ben, right,
Okay, So I'm sure a TVshow, yeah yeah, so but he
The thing is he's a lock wingon professionally, so it was an easy
conversation. Yeah. And he's superfun anyway. Yeah, no, he
was. He's great to talk to. Lovely, lovely guy. Loved it.

(06:42):
Um. And then Saturday, Iwhy don't like I don't want to
do exactly. Saturday, I watchedthe game at night. Fucking the end
of that was wild. Yeah,I couldn't believe it. That was a
wild game. It was so good. Oh Saturday, I worked out.
I walked like five miles. Thatwas good. Um. And then Sunday
when I do Sunday. Oh SundayI went to brunch with Josie aka Sophie

(07:04):
out and Musta. We went tomake one what's it called mccantile. I
don't know. It was really good. If you guys are familiar with the
Broadway and Selfie. It's all withthe same people. It was bomb And
then we went to Target and wejust did random stuff. I met Poppy,
a listener her mom um. Theywere so nice, and then I
met little Poppy. And then yesterdaywe did random stuff and I watched the

(07:29):
game again that they lost. Itwas awful. It was really bad the
Celtics. Just the other team showedup. You know, I've been saying
it since Tillisonville. In the we'renot in there when the mics are off.
But I hate to say this, but these guys that are like twenty
six and below, they're a newgeneration of player, and I just don't
feel like sometimes like that, likethat that competitiveness is in them the way

(07:54):
a person like a Michael Jordan orlike a Lebron or even like a Jimmy
Butler has. It's like generational, like that fight. It's just not the
same. And I don't know ifI'm being well, it could be that.
Also, the shooting of threes justNonStop, you know, which is
great when they have a night wherethey hit them, but you know,
when they go, you know, three, not even like tempting to do

(08:18):
a you know, some like fieldgoals. Yeah it was, and no
one could buy a basket last night. No, like even for a while
he weren't shooting that well, butthen they just got hot, right,
But no, it was just itwas just so sad to see such a
talented team collapse like that. Andmind you going seven games a lot.
You know, obviously they've had alot of growing series because they haven't made

(08:41):
easy on themselves. This goes backto Atlanta. Atlanta, they should have
taken out in five games, Max, and then Philly went longer than it
should have gone. Yeah, youknow, so I'm telling you it's that.
That's that that other Celtics team showsup. Um, I just don't
want to I just don't want toget I know, I mean neither,
but I think they gonna because he'sgonna be he's gonna get paid a lot

(09:01):
because he's just being all all firstteam or whatever. Yeah, so he's
looking at a two hundred and fiftymillion dollar contract. I mean he's worth
it. I think he's definitely worththe money. But are you gonna afford
him? Because then next the yearafter, Jason Tatum is up for a
big contract. Yeah, So youhave two guys that are gonna make two
fifty each, right, and thenthey're not even winning. Then haven't won

(09:22):
a championship. Yeah, and Iunderstand that Jason is considered more of a
star, but I struggle with sayingthat he is the absolute break like the
Michael Jordan or the lebron of theteam when he doesn't make game playing stop
like like he's not making these hugegame changing moves like these guys would do

(09:43):
and the and when they need itmost. Well, Jalen would probably be
like Scottie Pippen, That's exactly whatit is. But look at m j
never won without Scottie. Scotti hasone of six rings. Two people will
never talk about that, and hehates him. I know that story,
Scottie Pippen saying talking shit about MichaelJordan. I know, We'll see what
happens. It would be nice ifwe could keep both of them. But
if they had won this year, they would have kept both of them.

(10:07):
Yeah, don't you think I thinkso? I think I think them losing
not getting a championship. Definitely,it was a conspiracy theory because right after
the Atlanta Series are recently Jaylen Brownfollowed for Atlanta players really like trade like
that. He wasn't falling going He'sfrom Atlanta. From Atlanta. Yeah,
so I don't know what, butyeah, that's kind of interesting that he
just but I don't I don't knowif it means anything, but well,

(10:28):
we'll see, you know, we'llyou know what, we'll see just like
your sister. How how is yourweekend? My weekend was good. I
just stayed in my house by thepool literally every day Friday, Saturday,
Sunday, Monday, wearing lots ofsunscreen. Good. I will show you
this though, Winnie. So Iknow the people can't see it, but

(10:50):
I'll show it, show it toyou. So, because I got up,
I slept till I slept in alittle bit on Friday. Yeah,
Friday is checking day with my coach, so you know, I it up
at three. We were off onFriday. Oh yeah, okay, oh
yeah, we weren't here enough withthat. It's like, listen, can
I can we address that real quick? Sure? Okay? So we did

(11:11):
take an extra day off and wetried to give you guys basically a half
show of new material. We didabout six or seven breaks that were new
because we just wanted to give youguys some new stuff. We didn't want
you to think we were just takingthe day off. We wanted to try
to give you some new material. And I we have been doing off to
doing the best of because the waypeople were at my ass, like you
know, where are you It's like, well, we're currently doing new material,

(11:35):
like you know what I mean,I don't know. I mean,
I appreciate how passionate people get forthis show. We love that. You
know, people get angry. Theyget angry when they feel like they were
deceived. But I don't think itwas a deception. We just yeah,
I mean, it's not looking Iwas. I talked to one person about
it. I explained it to them. Um, the boss offered us a

(11:56):
day off, said, hey,you can have that day off. You
guys have been doing a great job. We had Tailor Weekend the weekend before
Tailor Weekend, and he said, you know, just record some new stuff
to mix in with some older stuff, right, you know that way it's
not all rerun exactly, and uh, and so that's what we did.
Yeah, you know, and sopeople I think most people were fine with
it, but some people were mad. Well, I mean Obviously I'm generalizing.

(12:16):
I hate to that because for theten people that were annoying me,
we've had, you know, thousandspeople not reach out. Wow, So
that's obviously it's a small percentage ofpeople that aren't. But I'm like,
in my eyes, I'm like,we're trying to like take our time and
rejuvenate but still give you guys somenew shit. I think it's a good
compromise. But it's like, Idon't know. It's funny too because if

(12:37):
if you know, the non everydaylisteners said they were tuning in for one
hour, they would have never knownexactly. They didn't know exactly, you
know, So we weren't trying tolie or anything. No, But this
is why it's like funny. Myfriends, like do you really call like
why don't you ever call in sick? Or why do you ever like you
can't just take a day off orthat's not and I don't understand. I
go. It is more work tonot I go. There's times where I've

(13:01):
been so sick, but I'm Ijust need to get through the four hours
because I don't want to explain topeople all day long why wasn't at work?
I go because there's a hundred ofpeople day. Why don't you work?
Why won't you work? You justcan't take it off and it'd be
like normal. It's like people wantedto where are you? What are you
doing? It's like I just don'tfeel good. Yeah, I don't know
what a job that? What kindof job? Um? Well? Or

(13:22):
a job where you can just callin sick? No, what is that?
I'm afraid I have a legit fearof calling in sick just because I
don't want to go through my DMSthe next day. I've actually never called
in sick hair. I've only calledin sick when I was a phone screener,
like once, yeah, no onecare I had COVID. I had
to stay home. I had COVIDbecause but it's a different You're not calling

(13:43):
in sick. It's like a pointlike people knew why you were out and
it was you know. Plus AndI am a believer that if you are
really sick and contagious, you shouldn'tgo to work. I do believe that
it's not fair to other people. But I do think that if say,
when I have a cold, right, if I have a bad cold,
you think, oh, I don'twant to get out of bed. I
don't want to drive to work.I feel like crap. But once you

(14:05):
get here and you get your mindoff of being sick, you actually feel
better. Yeah, because you're notthinking about it. Yeah. If you're
sitting at home, all you're thinkingis this sucks, I'm sick. But
if you're at work, your mindis busy, and then you know,
a few hours go by, you'renot thinking about being sick. Telling you
there's something to that. But anyway, on Friday, I got out to
sleep in. So I get up, you know, at six or six

(14:26):
thirty, and so typically I getup at three in the morning on Friday,
and I go to the bathroom andthen I go right to my living
room. It's dark. I turnthe light on. I have to position
the mirra. It's a whole thingto take pictures of my body from my
coach. But Friday, very rarelyI got to take real pictures. Have
Jen take them. So do youwant to see my progress photo? Okay,

(14:48):
let's take a look. I wantto show you when we show you
when I started to Now, okay, so this was in September. There,
I am okay, Okay, therewas a Chubb rock. Okay,
okay, now that was Friday.Wait let me say, can I get
it? Wow? Look at you? Oh my god, you look great?

(15:13):
Yeah wow, I mean and Inever thought you like needed to lose
you know, a lot of weight, But when you look at it,
it's like such a different It's sofunny, it's weird. Over the weekend,
I learned that my friend's boyfriend iswork worked with your trainer for competitions.
Way yeah wait who? Um yourfriends? Yeah? So girl went

(15:35):
to college with me and Sophie. She's Sophie's childh bestie M her boyfriend is
U doing the competition? And what'sin your guy? Justin hisach? That's
that's his coach. Yeah, yeah, he's almost I think he's I think
he's competing in a few weeks.Yeah, because my coaches from out in
the South Shore area. Oh no, they're from they're from um like Lemonster

(15:56):
Wooster. But I just think he'syou know, he's he's a well sought
after competitors especially, but he'll takeme, He'll take sixteen pounds. You
know. What's funny is my coachhas no idea what I do for a
living, doesn't know really anything aboutme because it's just all business. He
doesn't even ask like no, becausehe just like he doesn't ask no like

(16:17):
I. No, he doesn't.He's just you know. When I got
one him, I told him aboutmyself, but only about how much I
work out, and I don't thinkso although he did give me a give
me a discount he did, whichis interesting. Yeah tell me that.
Let me say, oh, Iknow him, well, he posts them
all the time. I've never methim. I just it's like, oh,

(16:40):
yeah, yeah, this dude israpp He won his last competition.
Yeah yeah, yeah, hosts allthese people that he that he that he
trained. So how about this forawkward? We got to go after this.
But okay, okay, So myfriend, one of my my best
friends, got with him like twoyears ago and had major success in the
year. Okay. So I sawthat and said, oh, I need

(17:03):
to do the same thing. Sofinally I got enough courage and enough willpower
to hire the coach. Okay,So mind you, when I started in
September, my friend had already beenwith him for a year. Okay,
So I started. I asked myfriend, how much is it going to
be? He told me. Iasked the coach how much it was the
same price. So I bought fivemonths at a time. After the first

(17:25):
five months, I re up fora second five months. Then he said
to me, I'm sorry. Afterthe first five months, I went to
REAP and say, ye, Iwant to buy another five months, and
he said, okay, here's adiscount and gave me like two hundred bucks
off. He said, this isyou know, this is the loyalty program
or whatever. He's like, justgive me this much. Like really,

(17:47):
so I see my friend and Isaid, now he's reapped with him four
times. Now, did you getthe loyalty discount? He goes, no,
what's that? I said, areyou still paying the same price since
you said he said, yeah, but you ken mentioned him. It's not
like you're giving him a plug.Nothing. No, no one knows,
no, no, no, din'tlet me chase his incence. I've never

(18:07):
I've never. And I reached outto him around Christmas time because we wanted
to buy you some you know, some months and he never got back to
me. Yeah, I know,so I don't think he has. I
mean, it's a normal thing,he would say, like unless he did
read what I said and just nevergot back to them figured out. That's
that's that's who you are. Iknow. But you would think that he'd
say, hey, I didn't messagehim, I know, so maybe that's

(18:29):
why he figured it out. Iknow. But he never messaged me.
But he's never asked for anything.He doesn't I don't give him. He
doesn't follow me. Yeah, weird, look you up. I know it's
weird. But anyway, he's afantastic coach and I've seen great results.
It's a lot of work, andreally the secret is it's just consistency.
Like I limit and I've expanded onmy cheat days, so my cheap meals,

(18:52):
okay, so I'll get all mymy regular meals in on that Saturday.
So if I'm going to cheat, and so once three o'clock hits and
I get I saw eating. Yeah, I eat cookies. I eat.
I mean, I go all up, it's great and so and then I
get right back on the next day. So that's the that's what that's how
I for you, right exactly, because I mean we can't do that.

(19:14):
Some people can't eat what they wantfor six hours. No yeah, no,
no no. Oh. And thecircus was really fun. Oh yeah,
I saw I saw Jem posted itwas really could you bring the baby?
No, no, no, no, We brought able and he loved
it. Yeah, just because thecircus actually pretty long. It would be
a long day for the baby.Oh yeah, where was it? It

(19:34):
was right now my house at thein the mall parking lot. But it
was a legit circus. I wantedone recently. Were not recently, but
like five years ago in the theone down here assembly row. It was
the same one. I think itwas a big app Yeah, or the
Wrangler Brothers, one of those likeones you would have heard, all right,
well we gotta go. I'm eatinga study, but we're back,

(19:55):
and you know what we just gaveyou. Let's see how long twenty minutes.
That's pretty good, wife five, that's right? If that actually actually
I've been proved in that. Sam. Yeah, I'm doing I'm doing just
fine. Don't worry about me.Well, actually, I'm actually not doing
fine for the past week because Ihave a puppy in the house, bigger

(20:18):
cowalk and the kids. She wickedbad. Yeah, well no, now's
now the puppy is sleeping into it. Nanny because she can't handle the baby
on the puppy she puts Jemma inthe crib. She puts the puppy in
the crate. Okay, within twoor three hours they're both screaming. So
now the down. So the puppygoes down, stales with nanny and is
doing great. And then Jemma goesin her crib. But then when she

(20:40):
wakes up, she brings her inthe bed, so it's a whole thing.
Anyway, we gotta go. Iwant to give a big shout out
to your sister who had a bigweekend and she can see clearly now,
so big shout out to your sisterin that amazing story, and it will
be back Minyana
