(00:00):
All right, why why are yousitting over here? What is this?
Because I don't want you've changed seats. I'm trying to work in. This
is more working space. Oh soyou just I'm used to looking straight.
Now I have to turn my headand get a crap. God forbid right
to look at you. Yep,okay, Well, welcome in everybody,
as Justin and Winnie after show podcastbegins. Now, har we are.
(00:23):
We made it through Taylor Swift finally. I mean, I don't know.
I can't really say anything because Winniebasically pitched a tent and slept down Patriot
Place for three days. She reallytook one for the team. Thank you.
You know that you really did.Do you appreciate me more? Oh?
I always did. But I lovewhen you go and do stuff so
that I don't have to do itright. And that's you know, our
(00:45):
show. I think you know,we are, in a sense the leaders
of this station. Well you know, we start, we start your day
with us, and I thought, you know, they needed me down there,
so I went and actually, thankfullyI live the closest you know,
Randolph's not too far from Gillette. It wasn't it interesting that you and I
got off the same exit at thesame exact time, and it wasn't planned.
I know we were going down there. I called him just to be
(01:07):
oh, we were going to parkbecause we weren't going to park where they
tools to bark. Yeah, andwe were, and I was like,
oh, am, I behind you. I'll go pull over, you can
follow me. Yeah, So Taylor'sover. But you know, we did
a broadcast when he was down there, and you know what, we'll we
recap it all right now, Gillyand Lisa in the Morning Present behind the
scenes look into Boston's favorite morning show. That's a little too much information.
(01:30):
The after show podcasts Justin and Winning. All right, So I guess we
should start with um before we getto the Taylor thing. I just want
to touch on my dog situation reallyquick, because that happened Friday morning.
Yes, you know, i' itreal quick. Well, my wife,
you know, she brought up tome about a month ago the idea of
(01:52):
fostering a French bulldog. She reallywants one, and I said, listen,
now, first it was get adog, then it was fostering a
dog because I said, the baby'stoo young. I do want to get
a dog. I've never had adog. I want to get a dog,
but I want to wait until thekids are a little bit older,
you know, out of diapers, right, And so she said what about
fostering and I said, well, that's something that we can definitely talk about.
(02:13):
That was the last conversation that wehad. And then Friday morning she
texts me, Hey, we're fosteringa two month old French bulldog. I'm
picking up at ten thirty and it'slike, what, Yeah, it's crazy.
So the dog is so cute. Her name is Bagel or Izzy.
It came as Bagel, now it'sknown as Izzy. She's so cute.
You know what's funny is Lisa's bunnyshe got about last year. Came to
(02:37):
them as whinny funny enough, andher son Riley changed it to Izzy.
Oh really yeah, Oh one ofyou thinks I stole that. No,
I don't think no, because youknow what she forgets. It seems ezy
because they call it bunny. Didn'teven call it Izzy. Yeah, my
son named name the dog that. You know, the kids love the dog,
but the dog is a lot ofwork. And now my wife,
(02:57):
who has Gemma, who's attached toher hip has a puppy now too,
and working from home, and workingfrom home, well, today's day one,
because this was Friday, and soshe was okay on Friday. But
Saturday, coming back from Taylor,oh my god, she was stuck in
the house raining out all day, both kids and the puppy. I mean,
she was. It was ugly.It might have actually been really good
(03:21):
timing for you, justin because thefact that it came on a Friday,
but Saturday, you would work allday and you couldn't help her and it
was raining. She's like, ohmy god, I don't know if I
can do this. Yeah, becauseSunday was nice out and you know,
with people over, it was fine. Yeah, it wasn't as bad.
It's still pain in the ass.I mean, the dog has to go
out at least once an hour.It pops, it poops and peas everywhere.
(03:42):
It bites everything. The teeth aren'treally that big, and it need
not only that that that stuffs fine. It needs constant attention, constant cuddling,
which is great, but when youhave a baby that needs the same,
it's a lot. Trust me.And then this is something I couldn't
share on the air. But youknow, you get the exclusive here.
Last night, Uh, because mydaughter Jemma is back in the bed,
(04:06):
but she doesn't start there. Sowhatever, you can't judge when I'm not
judging. But Jem's doing so good. She was, she was in the
crib. That was fine. Thenshe got sick and so now what it
is is she goes to sleep inthe crib, but when she wakes up
in the middle of the night, she brings her into the bed, which
is a mistake. But that's besidethe point. You're never getting back in
(04:28):
the bed. Probably not. Solast night, you know, I was
cuddling with my wife trying to getwell. I was just, you know,
spending some pe Okay, we don'thave to literally said that. I
was just I was just spending timewith her. And there's a little izzy
on the floor non stop. Iknow she wants she wants to come up,
(04:56):
and so I had to leave.I had to go back to my
bedroom. Yeah, well, anotheranother cock block for you. Yeah.
So, but it's so funny, guys. Oh, Justin's mother in lawn
Naughty and I are Facebook friends, right, and she just posted on Facebook
this morning a picture of it's avery pretty dog, very cute dog.
The dog, Good morning from ournew baby girl with a heart. So
(05:19):
Nannie is already all in. IsNannie helping? Yes, she is helped.
Oh, Nanny's a big help toyou. She's she's a huge help.
She's a huge help. Um.Oh my god, someone commented,
Ah bagel Izzie. I heard himtalking about her this morning. Oh okay,
yeah, no, this needs thisneeds to send, It needs to
(05:42):
end. Yeah, I love funny. I told my mom about this over
the weekend and she was like,oh, She's like, how is the
baby. She she's not even ayear right. I was like, yes,
should be a year in June. She's like, I remember when Samantha
and Chris were like we're like twoand four and we had Pumpkin, my
my dog. But I grew upwith um and she knows it was really
and I had because I had Sitto, who was my grandmother, my dad's
mom living with us at the time, and that and you know, watching
(06:05):
them moment was working and she said, even that was rough. You know,
it's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot. Anybody that
that we talked to said the samething. I'll pray for you. Yeah,
that's what they said, I'll prayprayers. So yeah, so I
don't know what I'm walking into today, but she is so cute. Anyway,
Taylor Swift was this weekend finally,uh for when he went down there
(06:27):
Friday and got a bunch of audiothat we played during our broadcast on Saturday.
That was a great, great job. Thank you. Anything else you
want to report from Friday? Imean it was, I mean Friday was.
Friday was like the second weather day. I obviously, Yesterday was the
pick of the week. It wasbeautiful for a day for a show outside
Saturday. It was Yesterday better thanFriday for weather. Yes, it was
(06:47):
a perfect day Yesterday. Um,and then Saturday was rainy, rainy Friday.
It was interesting just because it wasit was I think people will work
that day, so it was notas crazy as Saturday and Sunday. Like
people Why so I kind of gotto like talk to more people and I
kind of like really have conversations withthem yesterday on Friday, on Friday,
on Friday, because like I wasn'tlike pulled in eight different directions. You
(07:08):
know, we were down there onSaturday. We were kind of like we
were live and then we were youknow, Friday, Gianna was live with
Mike V and Frankie and I couldkind of just go do my things on
social and like you get some audiofor you. So it was more relaxed.
Friday was nice, um, andthen Saturday we were just we were
just on on on on for likefor from twelve to four, which we
had a great time. It was. It was awesome, man, Yeah,
(07:30):
it was awesome. We had awhole set up in there. Um.
The broadcast itself went great. Wetried to model the show um like
the morning Show, so we hadyou know, entertainment and we had right
now, we had callers call in. I was able to fire audio remotely,
which was cool when we use Winnie'saudio and we put you podcasted that
(07:51):
it's up. Well nice, it'son the podcast ready to go. It's
only an hour, so take alisten to it. You don't like Taylor
to like to like the podcast,it was just the four of us shooting
the ship for an hour. Here'sthe thing. Yeah, and I've said
this before and I will say itagain that whether you like our show or
(08:11):
not, and if you listen tothe app to show, there's a good
chance you do like our show,so you know, but I'm just saying
this because I'll say this to anybody, whether you like our show or not,
it cannot be disputed that our showis just full of content. That's
what we pride ourselves on is youknow, we we're full of content,
(08:33):
and we have a busy show, and the four of us work collectively,
cohesively as a group to make surewe bring the best content to you guys.
Maybe you don't think it's always thebest or whatever, but we try
to keep it the most up todate, most relevant shit. Yep.
And I will say, like justinI had a general plan for what we're
(08:54):
gonna do, but we called audibles, you know what. We were there
and it worked out great. Weyou know, we went we went with
what was the best story. Thefour us brainstormed like before we started the
show, Okay, what's what's what'sgoing going on? And I you know,
we had a great time. Yeah, and we don't. We don't.
A lot of times shows will replaycontent in the same show. Yeah,
we don't do that. I meanlook at today for example, right,
(09:15):
so today we had the Taylor recap. We had Alex Costa who went
to the Celts game last night. Then we had people calling in that went
to the show with Taylor, somecool stories. Then we had Boston calling
tickets. Then we had Adam Kaufmancall in who was mad about Alex being
on. We had entertainment, wehad weird stories, we had the wrap
(09:35):
up. I mean, it's justso much stuff, that's what That's what
I like. The show is verybusy. So um. I just when
I see people comment on the showand be critical of it, which is
fine, I'm not that's fine.There are shows that I don't like.
It's a it's not a huge deal. I don't take it personal. But
what you cannot say is that ourshow is boring. Right, Oh my
(09:56):
god, I listen to that show. It is so boring, Like not
like it's like one guy just talkingat for the people. Well, it's
just it's just not a boring show, you know. It's not like it's
just one person talking at other people, right, making sure they agree with
them, and god forbid someone disagreewith that person. Right. Anyways,
(10:16):
Karmela Anthony's retiring without a ring, just so you know, breaking news.
Karmela Anthony's retire I did see thatand the way the Celtics have been playing,
they're gonna retire with no rings either, So Taylor is behind us,
which is great. It's you know, it was a great time and everything,
but we're so happy it's over becausethat was our super Bowl. Yeah,
that was our I mean everything, and we crushed it. Not only
(10:39):
just the show and stuff on onthe air, but social was great,
I mean all around. Yeah,it was a team effort. Everyone came
out. We did. I mean, I'm very proud of our team,
the morning show and the extended Kissteam, the afternoon show, McCabe was
even doing Social. Mid Day McCabewas doing Social and Jojo DJ so well,
he did such a good job DJingpromo, you know, digital.
(11:03):
Everyone was really great. And nowwe moved forward to Boston Call. Moved
to Boston Calling, which is comingup this weekend. Are you going?
I don't have I didn't have plansto go, but now I kind of
want to go to Paramore it's Sunday. Yeah, I just love I just
I mean that was like middle schoolfor me. Yeah, like they had
some great hits. I love, you know, I would go. Yeah,
(11:24):
it's not my era, and I'mnot really do that grunge rock.
It's not for me, but I'llprobably just stay home. Honestly, I'm
exhausted, Like you have no idea. I felt like I ran an marathon,
worked a lot this weekend, andit's yeah, I'm not. It
wasn't physical labor, but I wasstaying. It was like a lot of
like I'm obviously very animated, andI'm talking to people and I'm whatever.
Like on I woke up at threethirty on Friday, came here, didn't
(11:46):
get home till nine thirty PM onFriday, took a shower, woke up
at five thirty, got ready becausewe had either at ten, and I'd
get my hair and makeup all done, blah blah blah. And then I
was there to like about four thirtyfive eight and hour was my friend went
to sleep, got up, andthen I forgot I had to be there
at too. But I really hadthat like you know before too, because
(12:07):
we were going live at two,and so I went and grab brex from
my friend. I'm like, ohshit, I need to go get ready.
So and I didn't want to geta second traffic, so I left
Randolph at like twelvesh and I waslike, oh, just talk my brother's
house and hang out and then Iappear and then I'm now a child abuser.
Yeah, I tell you that story. So my brother was in Walpole.
He was about three miles from Gillette. So I left my house around
(12:28):
twelve fifteen. But I had tobe like live till two something. I
don't want to be sitting around atlike twelve thirty, like I've already spent
my whole weekend there, Like I'mI'm not gonna go to one thirty.
So I stopped at my brother's houseand my little niece, MIAs three,
my homegirl. Her and I wereplaying and we were whatever, having a
good time. And then I realizedlike, oh shit, I gotta go.
And it was like at this pointit was like one fifteen, like
(12:50):
one twenty, and she was kindof being braddy like my sister. I
was like, oh, give onto a hug. Whatever. So I
pick her up to give her ahug, and I kind of just like,
you know, I gently tossed herback on the couch because like,
you know, picked it up,tossed her down the couch, and I
went to and I'm like, okay, I gotta go. She starts crying.
Now she's on a crier. SoI'm like, I gotta go by
and my sister and I was like, what are you crying for? I
got you her. Let My brothercalls him what happened with mea? I'm
(13:13):
like, what don't you even havewith mea? And he was like,
oh, never mind. I'm like, what do you mean you never mind?
He's like, oh, Kelly,I take her a urgent care.
I'm like, what do you whatdo you mean? What happened? I
was literally there twenty minutes ago,and she turns out because she's so tiny,
my brother, this happened to remember, like a year ago with her
her like shoulder pops out. SoI popped her shoulder out when I picked
her up? Why are you laughing? You? You you're a child abuse?
(13:37):
I'm a child abuse there. Butthe doctor said it's gonna happen because
she's prone to it now because ithappened with my brother. Yeah, and
um, and she's just so tiny, like she's three and a half and
she can still wear like twenty fourmonths clothes, like she's just a tiny
like a tiny Yeah, she's tiny, So wait you picked her up and
then was there any noise from herwhen I picked her up? I think
(13:58):
I might have, like I Iknow, my grabbing, you know,
like like under their under arms, and I think I grabbed maybe her arm
on one of them when I pickedher up, And I think I grabbed
her arm and it like popped outright out of the socket. Yeah,
so when I and then I thinkwhen I tossed her down and probably hurt
because I had tossed her on theshoulder. So you just left her crying.
Literally, I did the auntie thing. I gotta go buy the kids
crying. I'm done. Yeah, poor kid. So my sister in law
(14:22):
like, she's like, no,she's fine, Like I don't even know
why Chris called you, Like sheshe's already back to her chatty saw.
We went to the doctor. Theypopped it right back in. She's fine,
And so I sent my sister inlaw twenty dollars on Venmo. I
was like, go buy her Wendy's. She was the only time I was
like, no, anything she wantsat Wendy's. So she's fine. But
I felt like awful. Yeah, didn't mean to do no, I was,
but I was. Then I hadto go on air like, I'm
(14:43):
like frantic and I'm like to goon air and being the broadcast. Yeah,
it was so bad. I'm tearright now. I can't be a
parent. I can't. I can'tdo it. If my kid gets a
fucking paper cut, I'm going tofreak out. Well, I have listen
to this. I got the perfectthing for you. Yeah. I have
a puppy that's for sale, that'slooking for it. You know, my
sister really wants a dog, andthat's been our biggest fight. Does she
(15:05):
want a French bulldog? I don'tthink. I think she'll take anything that
will cuddle with her. Does shehave five thousand dollars? And he stopped
kicking in Okay, all right, yeah, so what else? So this
week we're looking ahead, we haveoh yeah, we have three more after
shows. But at any any day, Winnie, I don't let the people
(15:26):
know. There may not be anaftershow, okay, just because of stuff
going on where I might have toI might have to go do other stuff.
So hopefully there'll be one. They'lldefinitely not be one Thursday, That's
what I should say. Oh,because you have a lot to do for
the long weekend, long weekend,Yeah, it's just Monday. We have
off Monday. We have off onMonday, so I have a ton of
stuff to record and produce and inthe countdown. So this week after today,
(15:52):
it'll be hit a miss. Definitely, not Thursday. We're gonna shoot
for tomorrow and Wednesday. But yeah, go into a hall in radio.
Holiday weekends weeks are insane. Sothat's a head zone. And before we
go, I have won more thingsto say. Do you have anything else
to add to this podcast? Winnieum um, Oh, I'm gonna be
a bitch. I just want youto know you justin for the next like
(16:15):
probably four to six weeks. Okay, hold on, let me get this
stay. Yeah, you're a childabuser who hurt your knees. You hurt
you, he said to the hospital. Yeah, and now you're gonna be
mean to me for six weeks.Yeah. Why because I am meticulously counting
my calories and I'm no, likeI already want to stop. Oh yeah,
because I've never been I've been likeI've been loose. I mean the
(16:36):
last year and a half I've beenon this health journey and I've changed a
lot of things, but I neverwas like a psychopath about calorie counting because
I was always like, you know, eyeballing. Okay, I know.
Now I have a goal that Ineed to reach by the end of this
year, and I'm gonna stop. And I started my little activity challenge with
my followers on Instagram and now thenext six weeks I'm going ham So I
(16:59):
just I literally encounting everything that's good. I applaud that. I know,
you're well, you're you're calories areyou're not? No, well, I'm
not. My coaches. My coachis the one that prescribes the diet and
the cardio. Yeah, for theweek. You know he takes stuff away?
Who he adds stuff? Oh yeah, my job. Any day I
have two hours, I'm just gonnawalk for two hours. Dude, I'm
(17:19):
telling you it's unbelievable. I mean, the research is could not be more
clear. Ye walking, the importanceof walking. How about this, If
you're trying to burn fat, youwould think that doing the StairMaster or high
intensity cardio right hit cardio would bebetter. Walking is actually better? Right?
(17:40):
Burning fat? Oh And also,I just want to say I've said
this before and I'll say it again. If now I just I'm telling you
guys all, I'm telling you justinI'm counting calories. If you see me
somewhere eating something that is not deemedhealthy, mind your fucking business. Okay,
it's I'm counting calories. I'm nottaking out certain Well, what you're
(18:03):
doing is called it's kind of likeif you if it fits your macros.
You ever hear that, Yeah, meaning you're kind of the calories. So
you could be eating something that's bad, but that's counting towards your goal.
Yeah. I could eat an icecream cone right, It'll take up a
lot of calories. You won't beable to eat much else, but if
it fits into your daily calork intake, then you can. Oh no,
(18:25):
I've had no I had to goon Instagram and say something because there are
people are love to count my world. It's the internet. But the thing
is, I was saying, whenyou know a couple of years ago,
I mean, I've howas had moreof a presence the last year or two
on Instagram or with following, Butlike, no one ever said anything when
I was forty pounds heavier about whatI ate right now. But I you
know, am working out and puttingmy health first, or you know,
(18:49):
top of my priority list. Everyonewants to tell me what I'm doing wrong
or right when I'm sorry. Areyou? Are you a trainer? Now
they're critical? Are you a nutritionist? Are you a dietitian? No,
you're not so. And I didn'tget where I am because I don't know
or have an idea of what Ineed to do. You know what I
mean? You think I lost fortypounds because I just woke up one day
and was like, Okay, peoplejust need to worry about themselves. That's
(19:11):
that's my point. That's my point. Anyways, that's all I was saying.
Sorry, I didn't mean to.It's it's that thing of you see
something on on social media of somebodydoing something that maybe you don't agree with
or you think they shouldn't. It'sthat pause between the thought and the action.
You can think, oh, maybethey know, I mean, why
are they eating that? And thenit's the action of writing out a comment.
(19:34):
Right, And I'm not gonna lie. I'm not perfect. Sometimes I
think negative things about people I seeonline, but I would do all that
time, and then all the timeI would never comment that I don't it's
not my I can think it andbe mean in my head, But why
would I ever put that to somebody'slife? Why would ever put that negativity
into day's lives? Like that thatthing I posted last week? Remember we
didn't talk about this funny or didwe? Oh? Kid? The guy
(19:56):
that wrote basically called me fat slotor whatever, and I and I and
some people like, oh you shouldn'thave you know, added him. I'm
like, why if he wants tosit there and he has all this hateen
his heart, he can let everybodyelse know. You don't you come into
my DMS to completely, You don'tfollow me, you don't know me,
you don't whatever you know, andyou just decide to call me a fat
(20:18):
floot. Yeah. I responded toyou on that. And just the best
part about that is is, uh, they would never say that to your
face. No, I'm saying alot of these people that write these things
on the internet would never no,never, never, And uh, you
know I learned that in a differentway, you know, growing up and
stuff. You know, you reallylearn who has it and who doesn't.
(20:42):
Yeah, meaning when it comes downyour face to face with someone, can
you still talk that way? Oh? And ninety nine point nine percent you're
going in cannot exactly. And it'sfunny because you and I don't talk to
that internet, but we will fuckyou up verbally to your face, you
know what I mean? Yeah,I don't. Yeah, So I try
(21:03):
to treat everybody with respect, youknow, but I think that, um,
when push comes to shove and I'mput in a situation, you know,
I'm confident in my ability to standup for what I have to stand
up for. Yeah, but andby people writing that those things on social
media, that's inviting, that's invitingchaos or whatever. And then you see
him in person, they don't sayanything. And you know, he thought
(21:25):
I was gonna like probably get allupset and just yeah whatever. He didn't
think I was gonna take because youknow what's funny, his Instagram was private.
Of course I love that it waspublic. And then he went private
private because everyone, my followers andI hope they were as respectful as they
could be, uh, went anddefended me. And then he couldn't handle
the fact as you were saying, why are you fat cheating a woman?
Like leave Winny alone? And whateveryone and everyone's screen shot me. They
(21:47):
didn't see anything really mean towards him. It was just like, what's wrong
with you? And he couldn't handleit. And by the way, also
in his profile it was a Biblequote. Yeah, I love those all
right, that will do it forus. One more thing I want to
add, Whinnie, is this whenI m Okay, so a little back,
quick backstory. So I always tryto respond to dms. Okay,
(22:11):
I've since the beginning. I've alwaysfelt like as I got more and more
dms from people listeners, I alwaysfelt like, who the hell am I.
I'm just a regular person. Ofcourse I'll respond to dms. Yeah,
and I do, and I did, And as my followers grew,
right, the dms get crazier andcrazier. And so what happened recently to
(22:33):
me is I found myself when Iwas at home with my family and my
two young children and my wife onthe weekends at night, constantly on my
phone yeah okay, on Instagram, and so I turned my notifications off,
but still found myself checking Instagram tosee what I got dms that I got,
(22:55):
and so it really it really botheredme because something happened with my son
and stuff, and he kind ofmade a comment to me like you're always
on your phone. He said that, Yeah, yeah, he would ask
me a question or he wanted meto do something and I said no,
but not because I was on myphone. I really do something else.
And he threw that in my face. You know, you're always on your
phone, and it really bothered mea lot. I would bother me too.
(23:15):
Yeah, So I've really made aneffort to not go on Instagram as
much, only go on you knowa certain amount of times or whatever.
So I know that a lot ofpeople have been dming me, especially the
ones that I've been consistently responding backto, and so I've just taken a
step back. I'll get back toyou when I can if I don't DM
you back. That is why thatmakes sense. Yeah, honestly, it's
(23:40):
funny because you said that to merecently, and now I have started to
just you know, I talked aboutthis before, but again, like not
be all consumed in my phone. So it's like, now something that I
might not I might see something.I just take a second, I forget
to respond or whatever, and thenI don't go back to it. And
then it's like Cheesa, I'm likeI'm just not going to go back to
it, Like I appreciate you know, all the love and and I try
to communicate much as I can,but we have you know, other you
(24:03):
know things sometimes that need to comebefore you know, work. Yeah,
and and unfortunately I know you knowwhere where we love our listeners and we
consider you guys family. But itis a part of work to be dming
