true story of the Latino Frido le Janitor who invented
flaming Hot Dorito's. It's shocking to say, but even in
twenty twenty three, a film made by a Latina director
is still almost unheard of, and Eva was well aware
of that while making the project. She tells Variety, I
felt the weight of my community and the weights of
every female director. We don't get a lot of bites

We can't get a movie every twenty years. The problem
is if this movie fails, people say Latinos stories don't work.
Our female directors really don't cut it. We don't get
a lot of app bats. That's the problem. I get
one chance, so I worked twice as hard, twice as fast,
twice as cheap.
