Compelling curiosity through laughter.Welcome to We Don’t Understand. A show about the grey areas of human life on the blue planet. We are not experts, but we are curious. Consider this podcast an idiot’s guide to the paranormal, science, history, and society as a whole. We will cover a lot of different topics about things that we don’t understand and we will try to keep it entertaining all the way through. If you’re interested in the lesser talked about areas of the world and don’t want to listen to long-winded, mundane, data-laden lectures on a topic, this is the podcast for you. We may not answer all of your questions, but you may start to think about everyday things a little differently going forward. And maybe even start your own journey for knowledge about all of the things that we don’t understand. If you or someone you know wants to be our guest you can email us at wedontunderstandpodcast@gmail. Or contact us through our FB page at We Don’t Understand. You may as well go ahead and give us a like and follow while you’re there.
The rough draft of a rough story continues.
I meet Lamont!
This is an episode with beginnings and ends. I get to talk about my Gwawma.
The Smith's - Asleep
The end of the four-year journey with Daisy. Mom needs a favor, and I learn how to make a monster.
Brand New - You Won't Know
This one was tough to relive and it's the first one I wrote and recorded in one take because I didn't want to do it anymore. So errors and all, fuck it all. I could spend some time making it better but flexing creative muscles is not the point of this project. This is solely a selfish and cathartic exercise pushed forward by a fear that I'll be dead someday and never get this mess out of me. This is just a rough dra...
Sometimes a terrible experience is the only thing that can make things better.
Bright Eyes - Haligh, Haligh, A Lie Haligh
Mom Moves out. A baby is born. I learn that nice doesn't mean good. And the first brick falls from my little castle.
Placebo - Without You I'm Nothing
The old man does that thing he does where he turns something harmless into a traumatic event. Popularity is overrated. And love shows up.
The Cure - Just Like Heaven
This one is shorter but it's a pivotal moment. The theme is shame and how important that emotion is as a mechanism for change.
Modest Mouse - Trailer Trash
I fit a lot into the 2nd installment because there is still so much to cover.
Queensryche - Silent Lucidity
Not sure what this will be but it's cathartic. So let's get started with the story that will eventually lead up to the biggest mistake of my life.
I won't be advertising this but what it will be, is a cathartic release for myself. Yup, very self-serving but it will hopefully serve as cheap therapy and I won't have to worry about my therapist laughing at how I tell the stories.
I think we experienced some lost time because we went 2 hours in the blink of an eye.
I am joined by an old friend Dave Davison. He came armed with a bunch of really good and really credible stories of some amazing UFO sightings and abduction stories spanning decades. We talked about whether or not we believe there is a threat, we tell each other about our personal stories regarding UFOs, and of course we laugh.
We are getting closer to Halloween and you may be thinking witches are the perfect creepy theme for this time of year. You may be right, or then again it may depend on the witch. Sure there is a dark history to witches but you may just come out of this one with an entirely new perspective on witchcraft. I know I definitely left this episode with an epiphany regarding the most famous witch ever. And we discuss tarot cards as well a...
We are joined once again by Hades/Chuck/Charlie and we talk about the possibility of rumored monsters. I also offend the entire dinosaur species and Mike comes to their rescue. Albeit, about 65 million years too late.
My guest is William Jaros and he killed it so hard his name should be Killiam. We discuss addiction, meditation, Reiki, and some astral projection. All while having a great time. It's a good one. I know you'll enjoy it.
Excellent guest! We learn about Viking history but more importantly, we learn about Charles. Who was extrememly gracious and patient with our dumb-guy comments
And also crazy animals and the possibility of dragons!
If David Bowie was in a toxic relationship and was also really bad at making music, here's some lyrics and stuff. Is it cringy? Yep. But I don't really care.
You phantom, you lie
You runaway fire
You spin around our words into nothing, rehearsing your lines
Love isn’t weakness
Loyalty is not control
You can’t attack every ounce of empathy and then just move on alone
All the things you lack inside are n...
We mess up religion with Jerry and Ben! Is Kardashian a religion?
Goshdammit Jerry I need a bass!
Finally got to try it a 2nd time after a few weeks on the shelf. It's cleaner and there is something here, I just have no clue what I'm doing.
Jake and Jim spend about an hour fixing all of the world's problems. Turns out it was pretty easy. They also discuss true love and just how funny throwing up is.
Jim and Jerry cover just about everything in an accidental recording about Drone fishing?
Golfing with snakes?
Can we say all of the trigger words?
Hating Trump before it was cool?
The other ‘N’ word?
Is Jerry’s aunt super cool?
Why water chestnuts
though?
What in the hell do turtles even do?
And, how fun is death? Am I right?!
