Speaker 3 (02:30):
On the Funky Flashback Friday is our man DJ Alex
Tyser back from a one day hiatus.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Alex the Vegan. Alex was on a retreat. I think
he ate grasshoppers and moths.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Don't forget the caterpillars and calipillars. And now look at him.
I saw him when he walked in.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
I just said, look at this dude like a tiger,
exactly unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
But I still saw some of the puffs from the pull. Look,
let's just for that, okay, all right, sorry, sorry on
the updates and they're always professionals, Steve. Steve laughed. He
was in his newsroom, a news studio laughing. He laughed.
Steves just shook his head. I didn't hear Kawhi laughing.

(03:14):
I ain't nobody laughing. And on the should everything's not funny.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Elijah is out. We're going with our mass Cigar.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Patel.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I saved your last I saved your name. Okay, Chris
butchered it, but I'm the baker, so I took care
of it.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
I hope you ain't gonna be this way to whole
show what you might be in a good mood, but
your jokes are corny as always. My god, creepstyle are
on the cob. I'm just asking, let's get to everything's
not fun.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Last night, you did go ahead and pick in the
Thursday night game the Detroit Lions, which I know you
hated to do.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Non my money was involved, Chris, you knew they were going,
I don't have anything like, I'm not crazy. I'm not
one of these guys gonna bet against something that I
know is quite obvious. I told you I'm not that
big on green Bay's defense. They were down seventeen to
nothing last week at home, So no, I wasn't buying
it to them. I wasn't, even though they won the game.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Detroit three and one, one of the best records in
the league obviously hammered the green Bay Packers by the
score of thirty four to twenty.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Really was never game. They're up twenty seven to three.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
At halftime, and Rob Parker, I was watching a show
today and I've actually said I think they're on.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
The periphery at the fourth best.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
But everybody's looked at the NFC as a three horse
race San Francisco, Philadelphia, Dallas, and I think that fourth
team that right on the periphery of those three, particularly
on the periph Dallas, is the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
But you are saying you don't believe, yet.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
I don't believe. And it's gonna take me a while
to believe in the Detroit Lions. As a guy who
covered the Lions for a long time, like twenty years
on the road.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
I saw all the lows.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
I saw the unbelievable situations where you couldn't believe that
they lost, or like they had an opportunity. And the
only thing that I think is weird when it comes
to the Lions is people act like they've won two
or three games forever, like they've never won anything, or
they never had a good team. They had good teams
with Calvin Johnson and then Dominican Sue and Nick Fairley,

(05:46):
and I could go on and they had good teams.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
They used to have Barry Sanders.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
I covered those teams, Chris and Lomas Brown and Kevin
Glover and Hermit Moore.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I could go on and on and on. You could
have stopped at Barry. To be honest, I'm.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Just saying, but the idea like they never won, like
they never won any games.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Or they were never any good.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
It's just a false narrative that people are making, like,
oh my god, this is the first time.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
No, it was.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Twenty fourteen, they were eleven and five, they lost a
wildcard game. Twenty eleven, Chris ten and six lost the
wildcard game.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
And then Jim I just forgot his last name. I
got the co well when he was.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
There, they wait nine and seven, nine and seven, They
made the playoffs a couple times.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
When he was there, they had that eleven.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
And five year Chris, Like, let's not make it like
they haven't won games during the regular season, like they're
gonna do this year. The question when it comes to
the Lions is very simple. Are they gonna win a
playoff game when it matters? Win twelve games this year

(07:02):
and none of it will matter if it winds up
being the same. How in the world have the Detroit
Lions won one playoff game since nineteen fifty seven in
the league? That's set up, Chris. We see it all
the time. Bad teams turn around, right all the time.

(07:23):
Jacksonville's won, my god, has won a playoff game in
the last year compared to the Lions. They were awful
when irban Meyer was there, Chris, Did it take eight
years to turn it around?

Speaker 2 (07:35):
No, it's not that hard.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
So I'm not saying I know they can't win a
playoff game now, and I'm not ripping them for beating
Green Bay and being three and one. All I'm saying
is for me to believe that they have honestly turned
the corner.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Turned the corner to respectabilities, and that they're in the
race like in the hunt every year.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
That's what that's turning the corner.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Well, but you know what I mean, like this crew, Yeah,
that you have a run there and Dan Campbell or
whatever that that it's not gonna be last year they
had to run, didn't make the playoffs. They make the
playoffs this year and then go back to being six
and eleven. Do you That's what I'm talking about, Like
if they're going to turn the corner and be in
the mix where they are up in there, and when

(08:25):
I look at the NFC, they're a distant fourth to me.
Those other three teams that you mentioned ahead of them,
they're all better than the Lions. And if they played
the Lions, I would expect them all to beat the Lions.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Well, you didn't pick the Lions to make the playoffs.
I don't think did you.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I did not? Okay, So you now you you think, No,
I'm still not there. No, I'm not there yet.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Okay. I disagree with a lot of what you've said.
Number One, you base most of your argument, if not
actually all of it on what's happened in the past,
what happened in the what were you there twenty years?

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Were you there twenty year?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
What happened in the twenty years that you were in Detroit?
Do they have the same GM when you were there?

Speaker 1 (09:13):
They didn't have the same GM during the twenty years
when they got no no, no, no, no changes. But I
want to make a point that when I got there,
Matt Millan wasn't there, and when I was there, Bob
Quinn wasn't there.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
So it's not no, no, no, no. Guys have nothing
to do with this.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
I get that, But that was the argument when people
used to tell me before, well, Matt Millan wasn't here
before he won for Trooper Bowled.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
You can't base what happened before on Matt Miller.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
But the fact is you can't pay for people Bob
Quinn was with the Patriots. Oh my god, how could
you look at the Lions the same way because of
Matt Millan? When now Bob Quinn is here and Bob
Quinn was you got a.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Whole different front office, a whole different coaching staff, a
whole different roster.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
So we can talk about it like it matters.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
That what they did in twenty seventeen, what they did
in two thousand and three. But it don't if I'm
a player on the Detroit Lions, I'm not even thinking
about any of those guys. And I'm certainly not letting
what they did or did not do stop me from
believing what we can do. So that's number one. And

(10:27):
when you look at this team now, now, I'm glad
you clarified what you believe. You know what believing in
them is or is not, because that's what I was
gonna ask you when you said you don't believe, I
assume you don't believe they're gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
I think clearly.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Look at they're about to run away with that division
and Rob they have won eleven of their last fourteen games.
Jery Goff, you and I both have defended Jared Goff. Now,
neither of us is saying he's Patrick Mahomes. Neither of
us is saying he's a top five quarterback. Well, we've

(11:05):
told people, though, is stop disrespecting the man. Stop acting
like he's Baker Mayfield. Stop acting like he hadn't been
to three Pro Bowls. Stop acting like he wasn't the quarterback.
Of one of the best offenses in recent memory. Stop
acting like he didn't help a team, help really help,
not manage, help a team get to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
So they got a good quarterback, a very good quarterback.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
The defense you saw last night played really well and
has been playing well eight and Hutchinson was a nice pick.
They got receivers, they got running back, and Dan Campbell's
done a good job. And this team, that division, you know,
isn't that tough.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Now they're ahead three to one.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Minnesota and Chicago both zero and three, and Minnesota game
one in six. Okay, so what's they got to do
with them starting three or one?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Know, they started one and six and they ran off
eight out of nine or whatever it is. I'm just
saying the season ain't over. They started one and six,
but they got better. They thinking about the other teams.
Don't count people out after three or four down. I'm
counting some of these people teams out. Chicago, I'm counting out.
They're not They're not even gonna come close to making

(12:26):
any type of run. We'll see when the heck the
next time they win a freaking game. They've lost thirteen straight.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Minnesota, I agree could do a little something Green Bay.
I'm disappointed, not quite as good as I expect. I
do have them, I had them making the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
We'll see. But Jordan Love.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Throwing some touchdowns, but accuracy has been an issue.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Uh, he's got a few issues.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
So my point is, and I agree, Rob, I put
I put Philly, Dallas, San Francisco ahead of them. But
to me, they're a clear fourth. You see Addams pretty good,
but the Seattle in Detroit, Yep, they're both right there,
and I think they'll make the playoffs. Now win a

(13:10):
playoff game, good chance we talked about they could meet.
They could meet a Dallas, a San Francisco a Philly
in the first round, so that obviously would be tough.
Although if they win that division, they should get a
little rescied.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
So that's that's what they gotta do, Rob.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
They need to win that division and then if they
lose a playoff game to a wildcard team, although it
could be Dallas or Philly, I guess theoretically right that
I think that's a better argument. But if they win
their division, that's the role to winning that wildcard playoff
game that you say you gotta see them win for

(13:53):
you to believe in them? All right, let's see if
the listeners believe Rob eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Your turn to weigh in? Do you believe in the
Detroit Allions? Simple question? They now won three of their

(14:13):
first four games. They now won eleven of their last
fourteen games. They beat the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs
in Arrowhead.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Tyan Syracuse, you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
What's up, Todd?

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Yeah, I just want to say I'm definitely a believer.
I appreciate what your brothers do. Man, Man, As I
told the person before, Man, what happened to Rob in Detroit? Man?
So he has some experiences out there, Man, he might
need to see need a little therapy.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
It's called the reality of being a sports columnist who's
not a raw Rob Bandwagon fan. And I've been telling
people for twenty years when they gave me the same
argument that they were on something and this was different.
And this isn't Matt Millan, this was Bob Quinn from
the Patriots. You don't know what you're talking about. Oh,

(16:08):
Matt Millan won for I was against Matt Millan being
hired in Detroit with no experience.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
They told me he.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Was a football guy because he won four Super Bowls.
I didn't know what I was talking about. That's what
I was told back then.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Back then, I hear you.

Speaker 4 (16:23):
But for this year, right now, in this moment, man,
I think they got it. I'm a believer man, and
that you have to let them with that stuff go.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
It ain't about letting anything go. Tiede the difference between
me and you. You're a fan, which is from the
derived from the word fanatic.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
I'm not a fan. I'm just not a fan. Every
fan in the fanatic though, Okay, that's what the word
I said.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
What a fan comes from is derived from fanatic a
John and anchorage and salty today Fox Sports Radio. No,
I'm just keeping it real with him. He's not gonna
come here and tell me like I'm damaged or I
have some sort of issue. I don't have an issue
damage from what a football game we see.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
It's my damage. I'm just a real boys look good
no matter what. Calvin John's fine, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
And then you'll be the same ones ago, just like
you told us about Oh yeah, what you call was
on his way to be an elite when you were wrong.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
You could be wrong on this too. You wrong on
the vikay, but you.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Mean, of course I get okay, so I can be wrong,
but I'm not wrong yet.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Rady, I'm not wrong twenty twelve season, ain't No, I'm
not yet. I'm not wrong yet. It You still won't
admit you're.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Wrong about that, Dak Prescott and all these other things
you had about that last week you had Din beating.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
The Oregon in Eugene.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Oh yeah, man, they're gonna win out right, Okay, I mean,
I'm just it's sports.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
It's my opinion, that's all. And you wrong, So I
mean I'm wrong too. I don't have a problem admitting
when I've been wrong. You the one got the.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Problem, John, and you're in the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio, Hey,
thanks for having me.

Speaker 5 (18:05):
Been a long time Detroit Lions fan.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Since late seventies. Wow. While I was in Vegas in March.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
I put a bet on them to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Wow. I mean you'd be a rich man. What were
the odds at that point?

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Forty to one?

Speaker 2 (18:25):
I don't see that, but hey, God bless you.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
I hope it works out for you. But I think
they're a good team. I'm not ready to say super
Bowl this year, but hey, you know what, He's been
a long suffering fair Rob it'd be nice for him
if that happened.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
What's that nineteen seventy.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Mayn fifty three years crazy Adam in DC, you're on
the odd couple Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 2 (18:50):
What up at them?

Speaker 1 (18:52):
No?

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Man? But is this soul never owner?

Speaker 6 (18:54):
Because all out here from robbers?

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Yeah, man, I don't think you damage.

Speaker 6 (19:02):
I don't think you damaged right round. But like Chris say,
paint to the numbers.

Speaker 5 (19:07):
Eleven out of fourteen.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
It's like, dude, did they make the playoffs last year? Ms?
No prison qriston Re. I'm talking. I'm talking, talking to
no not talking to interrupt me. Please stop it. I'm
trying to talk to the dude. Here we go. This
is the same BEAUTI saying something. Don't tell me what
to do. I'll get my argument based.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
On whatever I want, whatever I want, whatever I want.
The organization's got one playoff win since nineteen fifty seven.
Don't tell me it does matter because they've had different coaches,
they've had different gms, they've had different players, they had
different quarterbacks. Matter that they've had different stuff for twenty years,

(19:51):
for forty years, and Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
All right, we're wrong and you were wrong. Oh gee,
I'm gonna go and win out.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Write a Eugenian about the I've given you that Brocott's
an elite quarterback.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Talk about Lion. I've already talked about the Lions. You
what part don't you get? I don't believe in these guys.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Yeah, whatever you say.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
You ever said one thing. Dam Campbell is not a
great coach. The reason that he's a great coach, he's not.
I've heard the radio announces call him. Last year he
called time out. He didn't even know what called time out.
He lost them.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Three games last year in Minnesota, not knowing what to
do fourteen. I'm giving you reasons, I'm telling you. And
if Jared Golf was all that, he wouldn't be in Detroit, Ah,
that he wouldn't be in Detroit.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Why is he in Detroit? Why is he in Detroit?

Speaker 1 (20:48):
If he was so great Jared Golf, they got rid
of him because they didn't believe in them.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
And I'm gonna sit here and believe it.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
I'm rid of Matthew Stafford because they didn't believe in
him and he wanted to suit.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
That ain't why they got rid of him. Why didn't
want to be there? Christ get your first right, did
he have to be traded?

Speaker 5 (21:05):
Out?

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Did he when he has to be traded? Get it right? Oh?
They believe it even though he never had it right.
They he asked to be They believe in him.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
If he nevers that. You said that that's the reason
they traded you, You're wrong. I'm telling you go read
read the story.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
He want to be traded, He has to be traded.
Why didn't they believe in him?

Speaker 1 (21:26):
If he has to be traded, they gave him. They
made him the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. They
must have believed in him, Sara Francisco. Mate, they made
Hello that too. Why did they believe they didn't believe
in him? They traded even somebody won't trade him because
he has to be traded.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
All right, we got take Williams coming up. But first
on the updates our man Steve this Hacre.

Speaker 7 (21:50):

That's right, everything you've earned is doubled.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
See terms and check it out for yourself at discover
dot com. Slash Match our next guest for re NFL
defensive back and now an NFL analysts, we welcome in
Tank Williams.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Tank, how are you, what's up?

Speaker 5 (24:28):
What's good.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Man?

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Good to have you and Rob and I were just talking, yelling,
arguing about the Detroit Lions. He doesn't think they're very good.
I do know what you said, Tank. I told him
that I don't believe not gonna make the playoff.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
They turned the corner yet, and until they win a
playoff game. They have one playoff win since nineteen fifty seven.
I covered the team for twenty years. When they win
a playoff game, I'll believe that they turned the corner.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
I've seen this before. That's what he said. They're not
gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
I mean, why don't you think they're gonna make the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (25:02):
That was before the season Chris, So you changed.

Speaker 6 (25:06):
No.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
No, I'm just saying, okay, but that's when the pick was.
If I said it today when they were one, it
would make it. It would make different, it would be different.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
Let me tell this, Let me tell this for y'all.

Speaker 6 (25:17):
Now, the Chicago Bears a hot pile of deep.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
Dish bulls fit right now.

Speaker 6 (25:21):
So we know they ain't doing anything. Now, my man
cut coat change up there in Minnesota, they was rocking
list ship.

Speaker 5 (25:26):
But my man Natty nyate off a half baked. They
just sold.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
They changed they all with three, so we ain't worry
about the bikers either. And so now you have the
Detroit Lions go into Lambbo and handle up on Jodan
loving them at Homan at his first home game as
the fact starting quarterback.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
And you don't beat the Lions up for real. They
got some.

Speaker 6 (25:44):
Dogs up front on that defensive line. They got David
Montgomery running for three toes and over one hundred yards,
and that dude, Jamiir Gibbs is the best back that
they have in the running back room. And then let's
not even talk about Amar Rock Saint Brown. They don't
have James and Williams coming back this coming week off
suspension for gambling, and then you have Josh Reynolds as
a solid number three and Sam la Ports is working
like one of the better tight ends in the league.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
Right now, Like these lines are legit?

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Now, all right, I'm not there yet. Listen, let me
ask you about the NFL. Let me ask you about
the NFL and the Players Association agreeing to terms with
a change in the suspension for players in gambling.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
I mean, they've made it even stiffer.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Now it's a two year band if you're court betting
on your team, and a one year band if you
bet on any NFL team. Is this a contradiction with
the NFL being in bed basically with the gambling houses
or what is this for the players for them to
agree to such a stiff penalty. Where are you on
the gambling in the NFL? Because they're sending a mixed message, I.

Speaker 6 (26:47):
Mean, yeah, they're trying to send a stiff message saying
that they don't want anyone involved with the organizations being
caught up gambling. Because you've already had these issues, whether
it's with the NFL, We've seen it with NBA referees
and other leagues. Pe Rose and the MLB where you
have guys gambling on games, and then it kind of tanks.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
It for everyone.

Speaker 6 (27:06):
Everyone that's betting on games. Anyone that's watching games want
to think that everything is on the up and up,
and when you have people that are betting on games,
whether it's their own team or not, it goes a
little bit of shady into the mixing. So I understand
why they're trying to do it, and I guess I
understand why the NFLPA is agreeing upon it, because you
have so much money that's fumbling into the NFL, not
only from advertising right now, but also the money that

(27:26):
gambling is bringing to the league, which is directly going
into the owner's pockets and also the players pocket. So
that's why they want to try to find out a
way to resolve this. But it's going to look a
little bit mixed up just because it's dealing with gambling,
and so you really don't like to see teams and
leads in bed with the casinos.

Speaker 5 (27:42):
But that's the life that we in right.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Now, so you expect the more players to get caught up.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
I mean, I know it's easy to say, don't do it,
don't dose steroids don't use juice.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Don't do this, don't do that, and people still get suspended.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Do you expect people more players to get caught up
in the gambling thing because it's just you know, you
have inside information.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
Right, I mean, it should be pretty simple. They say,
don't gamble when you're inside the team building, and don't
gamble on your own team, and so I mean, I
think you should be playing a simple like honestly for
a lot of players. If you want to be on
draft teams of fan duel or whatever one of these
sights it is, don't do it during the season. As
long as you don't do it during the season, you
should be good. So if you have some like clear

(28:22):
set rules that are absolute about not touching that stuff
during the season, then I feel that most players and
teams should be fined.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Tank the I think the biggest game of the weekend
is Buffalo Miami Buffalo. Obviously, Miami's offense is ridiculous with
the seventy point game against Denver, but Buffalo's defense has
been you know, top three, top four in.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
The league thus far. How do you see this game
playing out?

Speaker 6 (28:50):
Well, first thing I'm gonna say is this, I didn't
know that they were allowed to show that stuff on CBS,
like what Miami did to DIF for last week, Like
that's the stuff I effect the feel on the way
way up channels go behind a paywall like that was.

Speaker 5 (29:03):
That was pretty splited dog.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
But when it comes to the Miami Dolphins face against Buffalo,
like you said, like Buffalo, they're tough against every skill
position that you look at on offense where you're looking
at the quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight ends. But
I think what Mike McDaniels does so well, he sees
what a defense is trying to do to him, and
these schemes up ways to give two in an early
read to understand if they're going to be in cover
to cover four man coverage. And if you give him

(29:28):
that just extra second half second of understanding what the.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
Defensive it is, as long as you get.

Speaker 6 (29:32):
Some blocking and protection up front, he knows where to
go at the ball. It was on full display when
they play against the Denver Broncos. Obviously, this Buffalo defense
is going to be a greater test than Denver. But
if he's able to give two of those early half
second one second reads and the protection holds up this
is going to be a successful fee once again for
that Miami Dolphins offense against Buffalo.

Speaker 5 (29:52):
Because let's not get it twisted.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
Remember what Scotta Thompson did up there in the playoffs
last year.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
He ain't got nothing on tour.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Right.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Let me let me ask you about the Sean Payton
and Denver. Obviously they played a bear. They can't afford
to lose zero to three. Is Sean Payton in jeopardy
of losing the team or have they already quit on him?
Because what the performance they turned it in Miami looked
like a team that quit.

Speaker 6 (30:16):
Oh. Like he was coming out trying to spit that
hot fire and training camp right, like he was going
at everybody neck and boy, when you live in that
glass house, you start throwing that shade. Boy, when they
start throwing their rights back at you, it ain't pretty.
He was a little testing with the media after the game, right,
talking about what's your question the next question? Like that's
the state of the beast man, Like you're supposed to
be one of the better coaches in the league. You

(30:37):
took j Brees and all these guys to the Super
Bowl one.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
Down in New Orleans. I'm from base Saint Louis, Misissippi
song from that area.

Speaker 6 (30:43):
Understand what he did for the city of New Orleans,
but look, hey, what you did in the past, that's
in the past. What have you done for me lately?
That's the NFL?

Speaker 5 (30:50):
And then right now, man.

Speaker 6 (30:51):
He's just getting hung I mean, he's getting basketball scorers
hung up on him. So he needs to resolve this issue.
The best recipe for him is this. They're going to
get all go beds. They're gonna be missing that starting
free safety, Stone safety and the nickelback who's replacing the
start nickel who's currently on injury reserve with a broken hand.
If this ain't opportunity for Russ to end up cooking
like Emma Lagatti, I don't know what it is.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
You better get a.

Speaker 6 (31:13):
Resolved this week because if not, he's in the hell
of the world of trouble.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
If they if they lose, could he be fired?

Speaker 5 (31:20):
If you lose to the Chicago.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Barah they like, what would they do in Denver if
he if they lose the.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
Game, I would say that he's fired.

Speaker 6 (31:28):
But they got too much money hung up and show.
Now they got too much money hung up and rush,
so they can't fine but oh boy, it's gonna be
an ugly scene in my ill tell you that, especially
the way that Palm got them boys out there bawling
and bowleded too.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Well, all right, let's lie with that. Let's end with that.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
We got a minute left, uh priming. Then boys got
drilled last weekend. How do you see it going tomorrow
against USC?

Speaker 5 (31:51):
He gonna get drilled again.

Speaker 6 (31:53):
I mean, let's get let's be real, like the offensive
line in the defensive line ain't where he wanted to be.
He got the shield players, but the line in tech
and when you're dealing with them dogs that's coming from USC.
They gonna get tired of hearing that children fight song
in Boulder. I know I got tired of hearing and
when I played at Stanford. But thom is building up
as specially. We can't deny what he's been putting on
tape for the past few weeks before he got the

(32:14):
organ is real. And the energy that he's brought to
college football is here to stay.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
And that Pome effect is no joke. It's real.

Speaker 6 (32:20):
And trust me, in the next coming years, he's gonna
show everybody what he's talking about.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
And he's already been walking at.

Speaker 6 (32:25):
Walk to start Bailer college football teas.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
All right, that was Tank Williams, former NFL defensive back.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Great stuff, man, We appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
Thank you for sure, Thanks for having all right.

Speaker 3 (32:36):

day dicks against the spread.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
All right, Little Shekel City. Last night two and one,
not bad. Had the Lions had the under, I mean
had the over, and I had the Lions winning the
game yesterday.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
So here's Shekel City. Best bat.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
I got the Yankees minus one and a half run
at the Kansas City Royals. As we play out the string,
some teams still alive. Man, unbelievable. Down to the last
weekend of the season. Minnesota clinch to Central already they're
in Colorado tonight. I got Minnesota Twins minus one and
a half runs. And the Cincinnati Red Legs are they

(34:51):
still in it? Steve are they out. They're still in
with three games to play, which is unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
They're at Saint Louis.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
I'm taking the Reds, who need to win one and
a half minus one and a half runs. So I
got the Yankees minus one and a half runs, the
Twins minus one and a half runs, and the Red
Legs minus one and a half runs. And remember, I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
All right.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
It is the Eye couple, Chris and Rob and Rob
Big game Dallas Cowboys, looking to rebound from their surprising
loss to the Arizona Cardinals. They host the New England
Patriots on Sunday, and of course, the Patriots will bring
back former Cowboy.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Ezekiel Elliott and Rob.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
The owner Jerry Jones has said that he will honor
Ezekiel in some way. We assume it's a video, right,
but he also went a step further and said ultimately
he likely will put Ezekiel Elliot in the Cowboys' Ring
of Honor. We'll consider him for uction into that. Here's

(36:01):
what he said, I do, Yes, I sure do. When
he was asked if Elliott is worthy of a future
Ring of honor induction.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
He said, is what he did for the team.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
Frankly, I thought he was very influential in the image
of the Cowboys, and I mean that positively away from
the field or as to the field as it was
perceived with our fans, just the.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Entertainment of the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
To me, I look at that when I think about
the Ring of Honor, not only what he did with
stats on the field, not only what he did as
a punishing runner, but also what he did to lift
the franchise.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Zeke lifted the whole franchise.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Rob he is a third leading rusher behind Tony Dorset
second and EMMITTT.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Smith of course number one.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
What are your thoughts on first of all, do you
think they should even honor him this weekend in any way?

Speaker 2 (36:51):
And then what do you think about a Ring of
honor induction for him?

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Shouldn't be honored this weekend and shouldn't be on the
Ring of honor? I mean, if I'm Tony two said,
or Emma Smith take mine down?

Speaker 2 (37:02):
I mean, come on, what are you doing? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Just take it down? How does that how? They didn't
win anything? Chris. He was also suspended for pulling down
a woman's tube top. And those are the things that
he did positively on the on the for the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
I mean, come on, this is ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
We're honoring everybody and anybody who wears a jersey.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Make it special. Make it special.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
If you're gonna have Tom Landry and some of the
greatest players who ever played, Come on, you can like
Ezekiel Elliott as a as a guy, Chris if you
want to say, I liked him a lot and all
that he liked him so much he cut him. That's
how much that he was so influential and meant so
much to the Cowboys they got rid of him.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Not that he's not playing in the league anymore. He's
on another team, right, So come on, this is this is.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
What makes Jerry Jones a bad owner for all the
good he does.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
This is the stuff. Come on, make it special. I
think they should.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Honor him this Sunday like and I'm talking about like
a video. Yeah, of course they didn't win a Super
Bowl with him, but rob would you agree he's been
one of their best players since they won their last
Super Bowl, Like over the last thirty years, you know,

(38:21):
not twenty eight to be exact, He led the league
in Russian two out of his first three years, led
the league in yards per game his first three years.
You know, he's had you know, like you said, he
blew it himself with the suspension for what he did
off the field, and he's kind of been you know,

(38:44):
up and down. His greatness didn't last too long. But
I do think that over these last ten years or so,
he's been synonymous with the Cowboys and almost maybe the
face close to the face. So I think honoring him
now is with the video tribute is fine.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Ring of honor.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
I'm gonna be honest, I would have to look at
and examine everybody in their ring of honor, because I
if everybody there won the Super Bowl, then I'm with you,
that's the president. You've said keep it that way, right,
like the Lakers or something. I mean, it's you gotta deliver.
But they got a few guys again, I have to

(39:25):
remember and look back Rayfield, right, you know, mel renfro Leroy, Jordan, they.

Speaker 2 (39:31):
May, they may. I remember these guys as players.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
I'm not quite sure if they all won championships. Don Perkins,
Don Meredith, Cliff Harris. I think he was on one
of those super Bowl teams Chuck Holly, So I would
have to check that, Rob. But if that's the case
they all won super Bowls, then I'm with you on Zeke.
But I'd have to look at that. I'm looking at it,

(39:54):
and Dion Sanders isn't in there for some reason.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
I don't know how in the world he He didn't.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Play it that long, but he had a big impact.
I mean, that's why he's not up there. He won't
a Cowboy. He was on a number of teams. I
think that's why. So I get that, not just the
Super Bowl, think of him ass. I mean, you know,
I don't know what Atlanta and he obviously didn't win there,
but that's when he was playing baseball, the Braves and

(40:20):
the Falcons, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
He was great with the Cowboys and the Niners, and
he obviously.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
Played, but he was a mercenary when he went to the.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
I mean he was he was early on, like a
Michael Vick with the with their Falcons. He was great,
but they didn't win anything. But yeah, it's uh, it's interesting.
Like I said, I'd have to really look and see
if everybody in their ring won super Bowls before I
make a judgment on him, all right, it's the odd couple.
We got two hours left. Y'all know what to do, Locke.

Speaker 5 (40:50):
