Our man is low Isaac Loewenkrin and.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Of course the always excellent Elijah Sabuna on the social media.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
All right, Rob, let's get right to it. You said it.
With the Jets, they are signing Trevor Simeon.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
As their backup quarterback I guess to Zach Wilson at
least for the time being. And so we're going to
get into that, but first let's hear from Aaron Rodgers.
Of course, Aaron Rodgers getting injured a few weeks ago
and on the fourth play of the game the first
season opener is what has sent this Jet season into
(03:01):
a tailspin. He's still doing his weekly appearances on the
Pat McAfee show, and in that game on Sunday that
lost to the Patriots, Rob Garrett Wilson, is young star
wide receiver and Michael Carter were seen being upset, frustrated,
(03:24):
perturbed on the sidelines with the state of the Jets offense.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
And here's what Rogers had to say about it.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
We need to understand this is part of it. It's
not always going to be pretty. The most important thing
is winning shot. What happened in Green Bay. They were
down seventeen nothing and came back and won that game.
An ugly game, eighteen seventeen doesn't matter. It's like you
win the game, that's the most important thing or whatever.
You got to get it done. So, you know, there's
been I think too many little side conversations, and we
just need to grow up a little bit on offense
and lock in and do our jobs everybody and not
(03:54):
point fingers at each other. And that's everybody, you know.
We don't point fingers at the coaching staff. Don't point
fingers at each other. Just get back to work and
get the job done.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Rob Parkery, I mean, I don't know what is he
gonna say, Oh, yeah, that was great, mix it up.
They're losing, the season is gonna go down to drain.
I mean he's trying to be like, give them some
advice from Afar and be a voice of reason when
everybody knows what the issue is, Chris, and the issue
is they once again find themselves without a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
This is this is what it is.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
So am I surprised that there's frustrations by players, and
there'll be more if they continue to bring Zach Wilson out.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
You don't need Joe name It. Joe name It is
eighty years old.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Do you really need Joe name It to tell you
that this guy can't play? Who are the people in
the front office, Chris, who.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Are the owners? Who's the general manager? Really? You need
Joe name It to tell you that? You knew it
last year.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
That's why your dog the guy publicly and you undressed
Zach Wilson cause you knew he couldn't play. That's why
you gave up everything, including the kitchen sink. And your
aunt's a biscuit recipe to go get Aaron Rodgers cause
you knew he couldn't play, and somehow, some way, the
(05:18):
freaking Jets didn't have a backup plan.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Shame on you.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
How in the world could that guy have ever been
on their roster as a backup quarterback when God forbid
a thirty nine year old could get hurt. Chris not
missed the whole season like Aaron Rodgers after four plays,
but there was always a chance he could get hurt
and they had no backup plan. That's why they're where
they are with some good young offensive players Chris that
(05:46):
can run the ball. They got a couple of wide receivers,
and they got a defense, and now there seasons about
to go down the toilet. Yeah, Aaron, I get it.
You're trying to beat the grown up in the room.
But it doesn't feel good. You know why, because Aaron
wasn't there last year Chris to go through what these
players are about to go through again. They were there,
(06:10):
They've they felt it. They saw their season last year
go down in flames. Do you remember they got off
to a great start and didn't make the playoffs. They
tried every quarterback that they could get a uniform more
last year rather than put Zach Wilson out there, and
here he is out there to start again. I don't
(06:30):
blame the players who wants to go through a deja
vu when you know what the outcome is. The outcome
is poor quarterback play and no freaking playoffs.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
I got no problem with them starting the season with
Zach Wilson. Is the backup guys improved? I've said it
many times. Jordan Love is playing good football right now.
Wasn't ready to do that last year the year before.
So guys can improve. And thinking that, hey he can
learn under the feet of Aaron and he's a backup.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
You know you aren't.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Expecting your backup to be a pro bowler. So I'm
fine with that. My problem with the Jets is their
new plan. And the new plan appears to be Trevor Simeon. Yeah,
that Trevor Simeon, the one that lost, has lost his
last six starts dating back to twenty nineteen, the one
(07:31):
who is a fifty nine completion percentage for his entire career,
actually a.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Little bit below that.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
All right, that's my issue, and I've never CAPD for
this guy, but when you look at what's out there,
I'm a cape for him.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Now you should have got Carson Wentz at least cart
I get it.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Carson Wentz was terrible last year in Washington. I get
it Carson Wentz has had problems in the locker room
with teammates. But I also get that Carson Wentz has
probably been humbled beyond anything else he's.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Experienced as a professional athlete.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
And I also get the fact that Carson Wentz the
successes he has had, and just two years ago he
threw twenty seven touchdowns seven interceptions for the Indianapolis Colts.
Two years ago he put up numbers that Zach Wilson
and Trevor Simeon can only dream about. And I guarantee
(08:41):
you that if Carson Wentz walked into that Jets locker room,
that Jets clubhouse, the players would.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Feel like, you know what, we can do something with this.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
If we get the good Carson Wentz, then we can
actually win and make this a season. They're not thinking
that with Trevor Simmons. Trevor Simmon, They'll say, maybe he
just won't screw it up. Zach Wilson they're saying, we
can't win with him, and the chief concern of the
Jets now has got to be.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
Are we gonna lose the locker room? We got fourteen
games left. You can't throw in the towel.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
Now, you got talent, You have to go get a
quarterback who can make something happen. And maybe he'll screw up,
maybe he won't play well, but he certainly won't be
worse then Zach Wilson and Trevor Simmons just whatever.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I don't trumpor Simmey and I just that's their answer.
Then to thank you, That's what I'm saying. Answer, Chris,
they should be Uh, they all should be fired. If
that's all you get. There's other quarterbacks out there. My god,
Trevor Simeon is not gonna get you anything. You can't
ask your defense to pitch a shutout. Okay, that's not
gonna get it done. The Patriots won a game, Chris.
(10:13):
They scored fifteen points. They won a game. But the Jets.
You're asking the Jets defense. Normally, Chris, if you owe
a team in the NFL a fifteen points, that's a win, right,
that's a winch NFL. Good days work by the defense.
You go, that's a win, and you.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
You weren't even a field goal within a field goal
of that. Their best player of the day ride offensively
was a hail Mary. I mean it didn't work, but
it was close. Is your best player of today?
Speaker 4 (10:47):
This is this is abysmal what the Jets are doing.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
You start out talking about Super Bowl aspirations and all that,
and I get it. The reason you talked about it,
the reason people thought it might happen. He's going he's hurt.
So now you just supposed to bail because that's what
you're doing with Zach Wilson. I mean, come on, and
(11:13):
Rob did you hear Robert Salad say you just don't
give up on people. Did you hear that today?
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (11:18):
That's great in life, of course we all feel that way.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Nobody's throwing them out with the bath water. So saying
he can't do something else, but he can't play here.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
I mean, maybe he'll be a career backup. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
This is the NFL, This is supposed to be a meritocracy.
If that's the mentality, you never cut anybody. You can't
worry about hurting somebody's feelings. It's life. I've had no
feelings hurt. Rob, You've had your feelings hurt.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
It's life and you could easily have or if he
said that, a reporter should have asked him that. So,
how did you ever cut anybody? You gave up on
those guys? Why did you make cuts?
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Right? That would have been my response to that, Chris,
you're right. Put them on the spot. You cut people
before you know why.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
They weren't as good as the other forty seven players
who make a roster.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
That's why you caught.
Speaker 5 (12:12):
Up guys who dreamed all their life of making it
to the NFL, Guys who don't know what they're gonna
do if they don't play in the NFL, and you
cut them, it's life.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
They'll figure it out. It's life.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
And here's the thing, Rob, Robert Sala better wake up
and smell the coffee.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
Now.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
Maybe Aaron Rodgers getting hurt will buy him some extra time.
It might not, cause they will throw you out, Robert,
and I actually think he's not a bad coach.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
But you can't, look man. You got to get a player.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
You got to get somebody who at least has a
chance of making it happen for you in the so
they they shouldn't be done, man, they should not be done.
And again, Rob, I'm not saying Carson Wentz is great.
I'm just saying he got more upside than Trevor Simeon
and Zach Wilson. It's the Odd Couple, Christma, Rob Fox
(13:16):
Sports Radio eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox A
seven seven nine nine, six sixty three sixty nine. Is
your turn? The way in on the Jets is Trevor Simeon?
Speaker 4 (13:28):

stick with Zach Wilson? Your thoughts? Next here on Fox
Sports Radio.

ninety nine. On Fox, you're turned the way in on
the Jets quarterback situation, Trevor Simmon. You're happy with that?
(15:03):
Zach Wilson? Should he continue to get chances? Carson Wentz
or somebody else out there? Is that their best choice?
Your thoughts?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
All right, let's start with Bruno and Brooklyn. You're on
the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 8 (15:15):
What Bruno, Hey, gentlemen, good evening, A great question, and you, honestly,
the thing that plays me with this is with all
the hope we had like long Jets, then all the
help I hope we had starting the season to revert
back to what they do all the time, which is
even after he's out of the game, Rogers is gone,
they do what they always do, which is what they don't,
(15:38):
not handle and manage things. And this is where we
are now. This guy can't do anything for us. Pick
up to your point, guys, pick up a veteran quarterback.
You do have can't hack it in there, but you
know what, he'd probably a vet quarterback would probably get
the scheme, be able to get online in a couple
of weeks. If they let this guy play a few
more weeks, Wilson and they were in the whole five
you know, five games or whatever. There's no returning from this.
(16:00):
I don't even think Rodgers just wanted to come back
to this team after this.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Not such right, That's.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
An interesting point.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
I mean, if the Jets win five games, is Aaron Rodgers?
So I mean, look, they won seven last year, and
he came because he saw potential.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
I guess that's just an interesting point.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Right, No, I mean I don't think it's And what
about his rehab and now he turns forward third forty Chris,
you don't know how you're gonna feel a year from now.
To be honest, you've been on the couch all this time.
You might not want to do it. Mike in New Jersey,
you're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
What up, Mike?
Speaker 7 (16:35):
Yeah, Man, you guys bring the fire tonight. Man, you
and Chris y'all fired up on this topic. Got like
the way y'all.
Speaker 9 (16:41):
I agree like you.
Speaker 7 (16:44):
Yeah, yeah, you guys doing the deal.
Speaker 8 (16:45):
Man.
Speaker 7 (16:46):
I agree with what you're saying. And I think that
that this guy, he's he's obviously not ready to play.
And like you said before, they should have got a
veteran quarterback in the off season, and he know to
backup Aaron Rodgers and Wilsonship have been the third string.
But this obvious that he's not gonna get the job done.
And if they continue playing them like you said, they're
(17:08):
gonna lose to the locker room. You already see the
guys fighting on the sidelines. The next thing is gonna
happen is one of those players that's to confront him
on the sideline quarterback, and you might have a real
bad sea. They need to they need to go ahead
and put him on the bench before one of the
other players can push him on the sideline. And I
think you're taking my.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Cof no doubt, I mean, Chris, they've been through it,
the frustration, you know, like you right, it's easy to
sit here and go, oh, dude, grow up, what No,
we went through this last year, look like what we.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Were right doing. It's hard, man, Football is hard, all right.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
I only played up to the hot through the high
school level, and it's hard.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
And rob to play.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
Go through all the work and pain physically physical pain
they go through, and know you don't have a chance.
It's tough, well, and you don't know they're getting paid
for it, but you know, but you don't have a
chance with a guy who you already saw last year
like that, that's the hard part. Like if they brought
him in, Chris, and you didn't know, you know, they
(18:07):
brought him in for the first time this year. You
give the guy a benefit of the doubt, some time
to get on his feet, but you've seen the act.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Charles and spoke in Washington. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
What up?
Speaker 9 (18:20):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (18:21):
Man?
Speaker 9 (18:21):
Dang y'all, y'all are surprising me just two days in
a row. This is this is wild to me.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Hey, you never know, you know, it's it's hard to
get in some some people have been waiting five years
to get in.
Speaker 9 (18:31):
I know, I just know. I said, what the heck,
I'll try it.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
But what you got?
Speaker 9 (18:39):
I just want to ask you the question, how hard
would it be to get like for like maybe a
Jacoby Brissett or like you know, Teddy Bridgewater, like off
another team like maybe.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
I mean, look, Jacoby is a solid top notch backup,
you know he played fine with the Browns last year.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
I don't know. I mean that.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
Look, it's worth a try. It's the track give me
certainly would give you a better chance than this.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
There's no give up the picks for Aaron Rodgers, Chris,
what are you holding on the picks?
Speaker 9 (19:06):
For?
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Give up? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (19:09):
It's find the South with your season right right now.
Speaker 5 (19:12):
You fortunately, you somehow beat the Bills and so you
got a little more Christian than you'd have otherwise. At
oh win three you might already be done if you
got that win, but don't waste any more.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Time Aaron in Oregon. You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What up Aaron?
Speaker 10 (19:31):
Hey guys, how are you guys doing?
Speaker 9 (19:32):
And thanks for having me?
Speaker 10 (19:33):
Yes, sir, second time looking at you guys after work
every day.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
Appreciate it.
Speaker 10 (19:39):
I agree, I agree, Probably go out get Carson one. Yeah,
he maybe had a bad year in Washington, but like
Chris dead twenty seven and seven interception, Russell Wilson's not
had a good year last year and it's certainly not
having a good year this year.
Speaker 9 (19:53):
So mine as all.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
No, it looks I agree it's worth a shot.
Speaker 5 (19:59):
I mean, again, Rob, at least you know there's an
the upside is good and if he.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
Can hit it, then you you could have a season.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Chris, that playoff game was so god awful. That's all
people remember, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (20:13):
That was the game, Yeah, to get into the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
You mean when it get it had that that last
game where they just had to win and they were
at home and they got trouched by Jacksonville. That was
the one that people left a bad taste in his mouth.
But you were right, he played pretty well that season.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Yeah, and look, I mean, I'm not guaranteeing it would work, right,
but it's worked. It's just gonna be better than this.
There's no doubt about that. So all right, it's the
Eye couple, Chris and Rob. We got our man e
from Salam around the corner.

Former NFL offensive lineman now Fox Sports Radio week In
Superstar filled in for Rob Parker or Friday didn't do
job until pigs can't pick off, bragging about all he
(21:34):
gonna do this, he gonna do that?
Speaker 4 (21:36):
What was he was?
Speaker 3 (21:37):
Go one in.
Speaker 9 (21:38):
Four, one in four.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Roy good thing too, you know what I mean? Otherwise
you would have gone on and five.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
All right, that's story. We're good man. We were just
talking about the Jets.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Look, Joe, I'm not saying.
Speaker 5 (21:59):
I'm not saying he's a pro bowler, but I'm saying,
I don't Trevor Simeon doesn't do it for me? Why
not go get Carson Wentz at least I know his upside, Like,
if we get the good Carson Wentz, we actually might
be able to do something. And by tripping, I mean,
do you like the Trevor Simeon signing. Do you think
(22:21):
they should just stick with Zach Wilson or what?
Speaker 9 (22:24):
No, Well that's two different things, but I definitely don't
think they could They should stick with Zack Wilson. The
stage is just too big for him. He's showing us
now with this year and in a couple of games
of his young career that is just too big for him.
(22:45):
It's too big for him. And the most difficult thing
for a young quarter a talented quarterback coming from college
to the NFL is the window of opportunity is very
small and very fine. If you're not early with the throw,
then you're late. And that is the you ask coaches
(23:05):
and quarterback coaches and quarterback. That is the toughest thing
for a young talented quarterback to understand. In college, you
can be late with the ball. Most of the times
you're throwing to better receivers than they have defenders. So
you can be late with the ball. You can hold
the ball. You cannot hold the ball in the NFL,
(23:29):
and you have to be on you have you can't
even be on time. You have to be early. And
like when you watch justin fields play, you see a
lot of that holding onto the ball too long. You
have to throw the receiver open. The ball is in
the air before the receiver comes out of the break.
But that's scary to a young quarterback. So Trevors sent me,
(23:49):
and he's never showed me enough to where I can
now hand him the keys to the Rosewode right now,
Carson Wentz, say what you want to say, but we've
seen him drive a Rolls Royce all the way almost
up into the Super Bowl, so we know it's the
right situation, the right insurance on the car. He can
(24:13):
drive it and not crash it. So for me, that
would be a better pick than a Trevor Simmet.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
How about last night, you know Joe Burrow probably shouldn't
have played.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
He plays anyway, doesn't look like he's mobile at all.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
They get to the red zone, I think one time
they do score, but just the idea of playing him
he from with the chance of hurting him even more.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
But they didn't want to go ohero and three. They
at a home game against the Rams. They get it done,
they get the W. But were they playing with fire
or would you have done the same thing.
Speaker 9 (24:48):
Well, I think it's more of a Joe Burrow thing
than a sim thing. When you get the type of
contract you've gotten when you've been so successful early in
your career, you know what oh and three means to
a team. Now you know that the last two years
(25:09):
you started oh and two and and and had ultimate success.
So you know that that game yesterday meant more and
the grand scope of the season than just this one game,
because they couldn't afford it without him playing. They don't
beat the Rams without him playing it. No matter how
(25:32):
bad the Rams offensive line that boy that left tackle oosh,
no matter how bad the Rams offensive line struggled and
them not being able to score touchdowns, he knew he
had to play in that game to win that game
to keep them alive this season.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
What let's let's go to Dallas. What we obviously big
upset on Sunday? Did you you're not gonna go undefeated?
Speaker 4 (26:02):
We get it you.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
In fact, the elite teams typically lose to a team
that's worse than them, so it happens. Is this something
you can just brush off as Hey, it's the NFL,
you know sometimes you're gonna lose some or did you
see things that concern you for the Cowboys?
Speaker 9 (26:18):
Well I saw things that concerned me. Number one, their
inability to stop the run. Now, their defense is vaunted.
They can get after the passer, but if you find
yourself in a game where you're not playing from ahead
and the defensive line just can't tee off on quarterbacks,
then they found something with Michael Parsons is one of
(26:41):
the best defenders, if not the you know, the best
edge rusher in the game. But if you run at
him right, you take away his superpower. And we saw
it time and time again, play after play, drive after drive.
Arizona was running right at him, which doesn't allow him
to chase it down from the bag to bow over
(27:04):
the top and meet him on the other side of
the line of scrimmage. It's forcing him to now go
hand the hand chest to chess with a three hundred
pound lineman which out weighs him by about forty to
fifty pounds. And so now it's a situation where if
you can't stop the run, then you can't now te
(27:24):
off on a quarterback.
Speaker 8 (27:25):
And on the.
Speaker 9 (27:26):
Defensive side in the secondary, not having Trayvon Diggs is
a huge, huge blow for them because now it opens
up the whole feel as offensive attack down the field,
which opens up play action. You can't stop the run,
you can't stop play action. And we saw a playout
Sean Payton.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Do you believe in karma?
Speaker 9 (27:47):
I mean he he.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Went out and we all know Nathaniel Hackett was terrible.
I gave him the nickname Can Hackett. So I'm not
saying that people got to protect him or say he
didn't do a good job, because he didn't. But it's
very rare he from, you know, in the league, for
coaches to attack the coaches that came before them, and
it was very public.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
And now on the heels of that seventy to twenty.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Loss that Miami put on them, it fell to me
and I said this to Chris yesterday, like the team
quit on them. I just I've never seen gave up
almost eight hundred yards seventy points in an NFL game.
He from that team was a top ten defense two
years in a row. What is this about is has
(28:34):
shown Peyton turned into urban Meyer? I mean, what is this?
Speaker 9 (28:38):
Well, I think the respect level for Sean Payton is
too high for him to be Urban Meyer. Urban Meyer
came from. It was in a situation where he did
not have a track record in the pros and he
tried to bring some of that college gust stow in
and it didn't resonate. What I think it is is, Yeah,
you know, karma is swift, karma woke se will come
(29:00):
and knocking. Uh if you step out of line, if
you find yourself being in a situation where your pointing
fingers are you know, pointing out others deficiencies right, because
the universe, the karma or whatever you want to call it,
has a way of righting the ship. And I think
you know this is one of those. You know, look
(29:23):
in the mirror, not only for the players, but for
for Sean Payton as well. Look in the mirror and
what type of season. Do you want to pass? This
is not just a Russell uh Wilson problem. Right, We
can't keep nothing. We can't keep blaming that on that
because you know, for the most part, Russell plays well
in that game, that defense though, oh my god, we
(29:46):
watched I would be watching that film every day, every
single play. I'm pointing someone out, and it's about if
you want to be here, if you want to keep
your job. Everyone is. Everyone is now playing for their
job every week, every game, and I don't want it.
We'll put some of these practice guys, squad guys up
(30:08):
and we'll send you on your way.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
Correct me if I'm wrong. I think when we were.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
Talking Friday that you said, if the Chargers lose, Brandon
Stay will be looking for a new job on Monday.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
He still should They won, and I still think he
should have been looking for a new job on Monday.
Speaker 9 (30:27):
They should have been fired. They didn't. They didn't update
it already. I was waiting for the word he got fired. Brother.
Speaker 5 (30:32):
I mean, if you're a player in that, how you.
Speaker 9 (30:36):
You can't It's impossible. You have zero trust whatsoever in
his decision making. And it's been like that since he's
been there. Hey man. Even his press conference was terrible.
Nothing did it. I mean he he tried to give
the game away like he wanted to.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Yes, yep.
Speaker 9 (30:57):
Like it was almost like, man, I'm trying to get fired. Man,
I want to go to Thailand and hang out with
Chris Kingsberry. Man, I'm you know, I just need to
get a boy here. He was trying to give the
game away. And you see the level and the talent
that the Chargers have and they have no leadership and
it's killing me. Champagnon should have waited day don't five
(31:20):
and then came and took this job next week when
they fired.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Uh, speaking of that, what if you're Denver, say that
they get off to the only five start or something,
and you realize, Okay, this is not Sean Payton for
whatever his layoff or the players don't buy into him,
or whatever it is, he screwed up the defense or
it's just a mess. I would pick up the phone
(31:46):
and offer him around to somebody, to the Chargers of
somebody and say send me a draft pick and a
large diet coke and you could have them, you know,
like I would do it, you.
Speaker 9 (31:55):
Know, and you know that maybe with these new owners
right there. The owners come in, they got a lot
of capital. They don't mind doing things that wouldn't normally
be tredient. Right.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
This is the Walton family, right.
Speaker 9 (32:11):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah yeah. They got long bread now
they have money to burn, So that wouldn't surprise me.
And I know Champayton that would love that. Well, you
could just take me out of my current situation and
drop me down in LA with someone like Justin Herbert.
That kid is the real deal, man, he is the
real deal.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
I believed quickly before you go. We got about a
minute on the Jets reports out. J Cole actually released it.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
Colin Kaepernick wrote a letter to Joe Douglas the GM,
asking to be considered. He wanted to go to the
Scout team any I.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
Mean, it's been seven years since he's played.
Speaker 5 (32:50):
I think he should have got a shot a while ago,
but obviously it didn't happen. Now seven years is that
even feasible for a guy to come back into place.
Speaker 9 (33:00):
It's not feasible. Desjon Watson was out for two years
and it's like he got baby legs trying to find
his way back. So seven years, brother, that's a whole
lifetime removed. Think about where you were seven years ago
and to where you are now, and how much has changed.
I don't care how much working out you doing, or
being in shape or doing all those things. Colin Cavin example,
(33:22):
with the NFL, let's move on. Stop writing letters, stop
doing any of that. Move on with your life, brother,
move on with your life. The NFL is continually moving on.
It just you know, the situation played out the way
it is and the door is closed.
Speaker 4 (33:38):
Yeah, it seems like it.
Speaker 5 (33:39):
All right, that's our man, it is. He's from Salim.
Great stuff, brother, Thank.
Speaker 9 (33:44):
You, appreciate y'all. Man, y'all stay safe.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Yeah, all right, Mara couple coming your way. Keep it locked.
Shekel City is next.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
And the Jets aren't the only team in quarterback uh
having quarterback troubles.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Let's put it that way.

Welcome to Shekel City, the hole base for Rob Parker's
Daly Dix against the sprat Chris Uh.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
You know another winner?
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Last night almost went three and oh I got the
push the game because the Rams scored that laid touchdown,
so it was the Bengals minus three, so they went
by three.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
I got a push.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
I won the other two bets, So things have been
rolling lately here on Shekel City. Very very happy with
the results. Could have been an even bigger night. I
lost out about an extra one hundred and thirty dollars
because of the push. Here tonight on this trash talking Tuesday,
all baseball and the teams Chris that are vying for
(35:30):
the postseason. I'm picking them all tonight. Rangers who got
real hot minus one and a half runs. They were
at the Angels in Anaheim. I got the Twins minus
one and a half runs. Chris taking on the Athletics
even though they beat up the Astros is unbelievable. The
A's all of a sudden, actually knocked them out of
(35:51):
contention for first place in AO West. And I'm taking
the Brewers minus one and a half against the lowly
Saint Louis Cardinals. So I got the Brewers minus one
and a half runs, Twins minus one and a half,
and the Rangers minus one and a half runs. And remember,
I'm not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling
you who I bet on. And I've been winning loot.
Shekels of late.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
All right, Rob, we talked about the Jets struggles with
Zach Wilson Chicago with Justin Fields. Man, I mean people
had high hostrom. I saw one analyst say, uh, well,
I'm just dan Orlowski said, I think during the offseason
that he was he was gonna be his pick for MVP.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
Oh thank you, there you go, man, you can take
your check on the way out. But yeah, he also
he is dotting in the Hall of Fame as well.
I'm just did he he has gotten progressively worse. Rib
In fact, dan Orlovsky or Justin Fields in these these
three games, this year.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
His yards per game is gone down passing each game.
Speaker 5 (36:59):
To the point where two sixteen in the first game
I lost to Green Bay, two eleven, second game, I
lost to Tampa Bay. In ninety nine on Sunday, I
lost to Kansas City three touchdowns, four picks. On the year,
passer ratings dropped every game, completion percentage dropped every game.
It's bad, Rob, Are you I mean ready to We're
(37:23):
ready to give up on Zach Wilson?
Speaker 4 (37:25):
Are you ready to give up on Justin Fields? Last year?
Speaker 5 (37:27):
He did show himself with his legs. I mean, he
looked really good with his legs last year. But you know,
you gotta be able.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
Problem is, Chris, you don't get that much time. People's
jobs are on the line. Yeah, and career, that's the thing,
that's that's the problem. It'll be nice to sit there
and go, let's give this kid four years to get
to get get it right.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
It doesn't work like that. Just remember Jalen hurts. Chris.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
We had people call up, i mean people on this
radio show question whether he could throw the ball consistently
to be in the NFL. Right, Okay, he got it
together in the off season, right, real quick?
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
That's how quick it is.
Speaker 2 (38:09):
People will make a judgment on you, and then once
you're tagged with something, Chris, it's hard to get out
of it.
Speaker 5 (38:15):
And I think, and we've talked about this before, Rob,
I think it's unfortunate because some guys, I mean the
really great ones, Joe Burrow for example, can come in
right away, right But even Patrick Mahomes sat on the
bench for a year.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
I don't know that he had to, but they did
do it for a year.
Speaker 5 (38:32):
And some of these guys need a few years, Rob.
But you're right, they don't get it, and then it's
it's pretty much over.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
You know. Baker Mayfield is getting another shot.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
He's doing okay, but most guys don't get it, and
so you know, it doesn't look good for him right now.
This could be his last year as a starter. Possibly
keep it loockable,
