of the hour. Let me welcome to my partner, Rob Parker.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
How are you, Matt?
Speaker 5 (01:42):
What's happened to mister Chris Bushaud how are you?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
I am great? Great?
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Nobody happier than me today?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Oh why not?
Speaker 5 (01:52):
Last day in school for me? Very nice at USC.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, you know, I enjoy it, but you know, the
semesters come to an end. So now got a nice
five week break before next semester, Chris, where I introduce
and start teaching, which I'll be excited when the time comes.
What is believed to be the first baseball writing class
offered in college at USC the future of baseball writing.
(02:19):
So I'm excited about that. But now I'm good. The
holidays are here, school's out.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Tell me about that baseball writing because I would imagine
it's a lot different than when you wrote, because I
think games story writing in basketball is different now than
when I wrote.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Oh yeah, no, it's different back then. You know this, Chris.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
When people were reading your when you covered the team,
that might be their only account of what went on,
So you had to be specific, had to give a
lot of details because they probably didn't see the game right,
They didn't know what happened now with social media and
all those other things.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
You know, you have a lot of that already.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
So there is opinion analysis worked in the game stories, Chris,
That's the important thing, not just uh, the Dodgers won
five to four. Here's who had the hits. Here's who
pitched eight and two third inning?
Speaker 5 (03:18):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Like, that's not what the future baseball writing is. So
and I'm gonna have different guests. I got, you know,
Michael Kaye lined up, Bob Costas, Tom Verducci, Julia McWilliams,
like some really good people. Bob Nightingale, like really good
(03:39):
baseball people who are going to be guest on the show.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
So the show on the Closs, Let's introduce the I
Couple crew and get this party started. Super producer Rob
g is in the house on this worship Wednesday. Also
DJ Alex Weiser aka Alex the Vegan is on the
one and the two's on the updates. You just heard him,
(04:03):
our man Isaac Loewen crin I low for short and
on social media, the great Elijah Sebuna. All right, Rob,
we were talking a little baseball, but let's go to
the NBA and last night the Golden State Warriors lost
(04:23):
the game to the Sacramento Kings. That's not the huge story.
The huge story is that they were leading by twenty
four points and they still lost the game.
Speaker 5 (04:35):
Chrise, I gotta admit I turned it off.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
You thought it was over. Yeah, I'm having dinner. I
was watching. I just watched the third quarters, you know.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
What I mean. And I was like, oh, this is over.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
I did yep, yep, Well it wasn't over. And huh.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
And they lost once again, and they had fallen to
eight and ten. It's still early eight and ten. But
one of the reporters said to Steve Kerr that they're
in freefall, and he said, they're not in free fall.
They've lost one, two, three, four, five, six, seven eight
(05:11):
of their last ten games, and a lot of that
was without Draymond Green.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Remember we had the five game suspension. But look, I
don't know that I call it free fall either, Rob
I would, Yeah, I wouldn't.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
I mean again, Draymond is an important part of that team,
and without him, it's gonna be tough for them to win.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
And it is early.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
But what I'd say is that this is a weird
situation for the Warriors. Like because of their age, Rob
with Steph who's thirty five, and Clay's thirty three, and
Draymond obviously is an older player. They do have some
young guys, but for the most part of the old
team Chris Paul, because of their age, in their pedigree,
(06:01):
the four championships they've won, they are a team that
you know is championship or bust. Right, It's like they're
only playing for championships.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
That's it. But they are not a championship team anymore.
They're not. And that is where like Steve Kerr still
kind of talking like they're gonna be very good.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
I think they'll be better. They'll probably make the play
in or playoffs, but win the championship. I don't see
that happening. Steph Curry is the only one. He's averaging
like thirty points a game. He's the only one left
there that's playing at that level. And Draymond is is
(06:50):
not as good.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Clay is not as good.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Thirty three Rob thirteenth year, all the injuries, the surgeries
he's had, saying they're horrible, they're just not as good.
And Andrew Wiggins has really hurt him in that Uh,
he's really not playing well at all. He's averaging twelve
points a game. Ron And remember that last championship they won,
(07:16):
they would not have won without Andrew Wiggins playing great,
and so that's hurt them as well. And he's only
twenty eight, so you know, there's talking about him being
out of shape.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
It's just how are you gonna be out of shape
at twenty eight years old, Chris, You're in the prime
of your life.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
That that that should not be the case. And so yeah,
I just think.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
Look, if they're going to be able to you know,
if they want to try to win the championship, it's
gonna take major trades. Klay Thompson is in the last
year of his deal Rob and.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
He wants a new one, and he's he he's barking.
And if I'm the Warriors, you could bark all you want, Okay,
because I'm not gonna pay your fat.
Speaker 5 (07:59):
He's been paid. I'm not paying you for the future.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
And in the future for what you did in the past.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
Yeah, because he got paid.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
He got paid, Chris, Like, he got paid for all
that stuff.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
Right, and we carried you for two years when you
were hurt.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Let's just be honest, Okay, you got two years worth
of pay, Chris when you couldn't play, and nobody's blaming you,
but don't act like we owe you more now.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Right, right? And I get Look, it'd be great.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
I think everybody would want in theory Clay to finished
his career with the Warriors, and you know all of
that for all he's done for him, But if they
want to win championships, Rob, it's often ugly at the
end of a great run, right, And they got a
championship that shocked people. A couple of years ago. People
(08:50):
thought they were done then and they got that ring.
But now you know, I agree, I mean Draymond, they
ended up extending him at a discount four years, one
hundred million.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I don't know that you can trade him.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
Uh, the age the.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
Contract which Rob he's signed through twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
So he's still doing the same after this.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
And that's the thing, Like the Warriors will handle that
stuff better than anybody, and they're having trouble with it, right,
So you go somewhere else and you.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Do that, it's not gonna be good.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
And even Steph Curry said it is. You said it
was dumb, you know, like the technical Chris, like like
like even in the press, it's dumb. Yeah, can't you
can't keep making these dumb mistakes. Uh, and drem up with.
Speaker 4 (09:39):
It because he was good, but he's he's not good
good enough anymore.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
It's just as simple.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
As that that that was a bad loss for a
lot of reasons. They have their team, those guys are playing.
It ain't like, oh, Steph's not there, Clay's not playing,
Draymond's no that they had their squad. You can't lose
that game. I'm sorry, Chris, you cannot lose that game.
There's something there that that's not right or wrong.
Speaker 5 (10:08):
And and eight out of ten is a free fall
for this group. I get it.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Draymond missed the five games with the suspension, but they
just haven't played like and that's what I said yesterday,
like they're not gonna get better. And what I mean,
I don't think eight out of ten. I'm not saying that.
But as you get older is what I'm saying. Like
it's not like you could turn the switch on. We
saw last year where they were Chris Paul last night
(10:34):
had what three points.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
I don't know exactly what it was, but it obviously
wasn't one good performance. Well, so those are the guys
they've got. I mean, could they traded Chris Paul. Maybe
he's got one year ribbed next year at thirty one
million on his deal.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
I don't know who's signing up for that. I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Clay will be tradable as the season goes on because
he's an expiring contract and it's forty three million dollars.
But they, I don't know, they're kind of stuck. It's
the it's the Steph Curry Show. He's still putting up
big numbers and he's still playing well. And they'll have
their nights where they make you think, oh, you know,
(11:18):
but as far as winning a championship, that's the thing
they are. They're not there, and you know, that's just
the way it is. So I don't know what they
can do. I think they they're gonna it's gonna be
tough for them to make some moves. Wiggins at this
point Rob Wiggins designs through twenty twenty seven two wow,
(11:39):
at about twenty eight million a year, and so it's
gonna be tough for them to make the moves to
get themselves over the top.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
So they are what they are, basically, right, I mean,
there's not a lot of maneuvering except for the beat.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
It's gonna be hard.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Yeah, Clay you can Clay, you can move and and
I know a lot of people, you know, you get
sentimental with players, and I'm with you, it'd be great
if you get to play your whole career.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Well, I always talk to you about.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Jeter played all.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Twenty years with the Yankees. I always felt like Tom
Brady should have been that guy too with the Patriots.
It didn't work out that way. There's certain players that
you would think and Steph will be that guy. I
can't see him playing in any.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
Other uniform, right, Stephan, He's the one that I just
don't Yeah, I just don't see him playing anywhere.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Could Raymond play one or two years in Detroit, you
know the end of his career, Yeah, he could if
they the way they're giving away money to ask Manti Williams, Chris,
I just can't get over where bad they are, Like, really,
they're horrible, horrible.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
They've lost fourteenth straight.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
The Lakers are in town tonight in Detroit, but anyway
in Detroit.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
But I don't know, Like I said, I think they'll
play better at times I think they'll have a little
stretch here and there where people are like, oh oh,
watch out for the war But I just think, and
I think Clay can get better. Rob, you know, I mean,
he's kind of in a shooting swampy shooting forty percent.
He's only he's shooting thirty seven from three. He's not
(13:10):
shooting horribly from three. But I think he can play
a little better. But the thing is, like I said,
this is a team everybody's thinking of as a champion
period the end. And that's what I don't see with them.
Rob so eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. It
(13:33):
is your turn the way in on the Warriors. What
should they do? Are they done? Is the championship window
close shut? And how should they reopen it? If possible?

on Fox, what are the Warriors to do? Because they're
not looking like a championship team anymore?
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Your thoughts?
Speaker 1 (15:42):
All right, let's kick it off with our man schw
On in Sacramento. You're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Sewing?
Speaker 7 (15:48):
Yeah, home usles from another mother. My brother's behind the boys.
That the DJ Alex Tyser playing all those little quipments
hits in the background. He shun, what's up baby, Sempard,
Hey you stopping?
Speaker 5 (16:00):
We got company today. That's right, you guys, get a room, Sean.
You got to tell the kids to go out of
the room.
Speaker 7 (16:08):
Hey man, they seen me scrolling through Alex's ig. They've
seen them graphic kickers already. But oh man, you already
know my favorite morning show tuning into that Bay Area Bontan.
But they was arguing, they buttzed off and Rob Parker
was not even making an appearance. It's guy is falling
in the Bay Area. They wanted dump Clay in that
(16:29):
humongous contract, which they should have did before they even
signed them. And on top of that, what's Draymond to do?
He hit, his flops, his flails, his referee baseness no
longer working anymore. I think the only thing that's left
for them to do is just go ahead and blow
the whole thing up. Since steps somewhere where he could
maybe win one more ship, unite him with Lebron in La,
get rid of Draymond as soon as you can, get
(16:51):
rid of playing that horrible contract, and just rebuilt naturally
through the process of tanking for a couple of seasons
and rebuilding through the draft. There's no way they can
take any these pieces are building around any of them
because they're too old, and the new school teams like
the Kings, the Thunder and everybody in between. It's taking over.
Speaker 5 (17:08):
I'll say one thing everything.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
I don't disagree with you about trying blowing it up,
doing everything, But Steph ain't going nowhere.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
I just don't believe it. Yeah, it has to.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
I think it would have to be him wanting out
it really just wanting another chance.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
But I just somewhere else.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Well, I think if he really no, I'm talking about
on Yeah, nah, I agree without him wanting to go.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
I think they run it.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
By him, like if I can see teams asking about him,
for sure, But I think I don't think they pull
that trigger Rob until he gave him to go ahead,
and he might just want to stay there his career there.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Brandon and Riverside, you're on the odd couple of fox sportuited.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
What up beat?
Speaker 7 (17:58):
I love this show.
Speaker 8 (17:59):
Man's good, I'm good man, I'm like last calling man
like you. I agree, just blow it up, but keep
Steff there, try to figure out how we can get
them some younger but productive guys with him. That's gonna
run because playing I like it. I do like play.
But this whole contract extension is I feel that he's
(18:22):
in his head. Draymond will shut up. You gotta talk
all the time, and I think I believe that the
players all tune them out. Man, I just just don't
believe they listen to him. But yeah, I'm with if
it's over for the Warriors, they got their championships, the times,
look about the Elms gets now and just blow it
(18:44):
up and start fresh.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
Everybody, I'm saying, blow it up. That's easier said than done. No,
we just talked about how Wiggins and Draymond are signed
through twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Right, No, it's not gonna be easy to blow it up.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
The other thing, though, Chris Is ESPN has reported that
they that, you know, Clay, the whole contract thing is
in Clay's head too, you know, like he desperately wants
another deal and and they're not. They're not bending over,
like you know, right away to sign him. So now
he's starting to probably question whether or not he's never
(19:19):
gonna get it. And then you start to you know,
press a little bit. So now that's a bad look,
and I get being.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Upset about it, but it just it is what it is. Rob.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
I mean, I get him one. He looked at Draymond.
Oh wow, Draymond got this kind of deal. I mean,
would they give him the discount that they gave Draymond?
I don't know, you know, or I'm should say, would
he take that discount too?
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Draymond signed for four years, hundred million.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
I don't know that Clay would do that, but it
wouldn't be in their best interest to do it, right, It.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Just it just wouldn't be. Let's squeeze in Nick from
New York. You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
What up? Nick?
Speaker 7 (19:58):
My favorite show started off with that.
Speaker 9 (20:01):
I just wanted to say, Rob, I can't wait to
listen to the Baseball podcast. I don't think you get
enough credit for your baseball feake and knowledge.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
And inside the Park.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
See Chris, there you go. Somebody's listening that Nick knows
the deal?
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Nick?
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Actually, what got you know? We since the season stop. Uh,
we've had a couple of weeks off with me and
Rob g he was the producer of that uh Inside
the parker. Uh, we're gonna kick it back off on
the sixth, I think right after the Winter Meeting start
of the fifth So we'll be back with a weekly
podcast on the sixth of December.
Speaker 9 (20:36):
Okay, Buddy perkact, Yeah, you know your son, I will
say that. I'm gonna say it's how the dynasties have
always changed. The Patriots got rid of players early, and
everyone always questioned it, and they won. The Spurs kept.
Speaker 7 (20:48):
A few went out.
Speaker 9 (20:50):
I think that the Warriors they should have got rid
of clay In Draymond earlier to get more value. I
understand the contract issues, but think about if Step one
and other championship without Draymond and Clay what that would
mean to the league and to his legacy. And I
listened to your opinions. Love this show, my favorite show.
Always say that happy Holidays.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Rob another championship for Steph. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
I don't know if him winning it with or without
Steph or Clay and Dre would matter that much. If
he won another championship as the leader of the team,
like the best player, whether it's with them or not,
his legacy takes and even biggerly, I mean, it's already here.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
My big thing always is in the Lebron era, Steph
has as many championships as he as Lebron.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
And that's what that he be.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
What I would mean is like, right, he came in,
he beat obviously beat Lebron what three times? Yes, and
it would be in Lebron's era that he won, you know,
But I look again, he could go somewhere else and
have a shot like if he had if he had
gotten traded to Milwaukee instead of Damian Lillard. Oh, ye,
(22:05):
have a legitimate shot, and that would be huge. But
I don't like, I'm like, I'm with you. I don't
necessarily see anything like this happening. And Rob they've only
played they haven't even played eight minutes in Detroit and
it's already twenty nine to fourteen.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Lakers just terrible, Chris. I mean, just look, you get
they're not very good team, but this is ridiculous and
the Lakers are horrible first quarter team.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
Right, but this is like I don't know what to disconnect.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
We talked about before you gave MANI like a nine year,
three hundred million dollars contract as a coach, I know,
And what can you do? Nothing, can't do anything.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
They got a long way to go, all right, it's
the odd couple. Greg Jenny's joining us around the corner.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk

production crew of First Things, First show I'm on on
(23:22):
FS one is going bowling tonight.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
I had to miss because of our show, all right,
and I.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
Think from a bowling Alley in Chelsea Pierce in New
York City.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
Man, this is a Christmas party?
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Is Greg Jennings is joining us? Greg? It is a
Christmas party?
Speaker 7 (23:42):
Right? Yeah, you know it. I'm gonna step out just
for a minute now.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Then you are you can let us in on word
has it that you are a terrific bowler. But last
year you struggled might at the Christmas part. I don't
know if it was nerves if you.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
Know that the moment alcohol.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
But Greg, what first of all?
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Tell us what's your average as a bowler, because it's
pretty impressive from what I hear.
Speaker 7 (24:16):
And Chris, I'm I'm gonna cut you off. Man, It's
been years since I've bowled and had an average. Man,
I can't can't go back years and say my average
is to to ten. You know that wouldn't be fair.
You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (24:29):
I haven't.
Speaker 7 (24:30):
I haven't, I haven't. No, it is not. What it
is today is about a one fifty years.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Oh that's better than last year.
Speaker 7 (24:38):
I heard it's been better than last year, but I
mean it's still But our team has the overall top score.
We won the first game. We just lost by uh
one two pins No Three pins for the overall top score,
and because I blew it in the tenth round, I'm
(24:59):
going I'm going to own it. I'm going to say
that I blew it for team Yes.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
And see all I'm sitting here thinking that it was
Nick wrong, I mean Nick Wright who blew it, and
then it was Greg Jennings.
Speaker 7 (25:14):
You know, hey, I'm going to own it. I'm gonnake
the credit. I'm gonna take it away from my team
and own it.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
I'm gonna give you credit for that because I remember
last year I was I was messing with Greg about
how Dusty beat him. One of our CAS members, Dusty
and Greg was salty. Greg was not JOEVI about it.
If looks kill, I'd have been dead right. Greg is
a competitor.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
He is handling this well. I'm proudly I get it.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
Greg a Greg is all about it?
Speaker 2 (25:45):
Or was that the ping pong? There might have been
the ping?
Speaker 7 (25:48):
No?
Speaker 4 (25:52):
All right, let's get to your former teammate, Aaron Rodgers,
who you, of course won the Super Bowl with. He
practiced today. I mean, obviously he's not, you know, out
there running plays and stuff with the guys.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
But what do you make of this? You know, him
out there and and now within the twenty one day
practice window.
Speaker 7 (26:11):
Look, I mean he it is what it is, like
he said, he this is what he wanted to do.
I think it's it's nice, it's cute. It's like, Okay,
he's out there on the practice field. He's not practicing.
He's not running around running any drills right like all
full speed Like that's not the case. However, he is
out there. That's something that there's a lot to be
said about just even getting to that moment and having
(26:34):
this moment just soon. The reality of it is is
he I don't I don't care about what he's doing
on the practice field. Unless he's in full go and
he's actually practicing, you can miss me with all the extras.
Like unless he's a full go, then talk to me.
But then then that puts me in a position of
(26:55):
I'm watching and hoping that nothing happens, because if something
then happens, all that security that's there with his coaching
staff now, in my opinion, it's it's no more because
you need you would have put your quarterback at risk
just because he wanted to prove a point.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Greg one hund spot on This is why the Jets
haven't won a Super Bowl since Moby Dick was a
Guppy and the Louisiana proaches was signed.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
Because they keep doing.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
The same old thing, Greg, what is the You got
a forty year old quarterback?
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Why would you rushing back?
Speaker 1 (27:32):
They have an offensive line that gave up a million
sacks with Zach Wilson. When when Aaron Rodgers got hurt,
he was pressured on three of the four plays he
played in to start the season.
Speaker 5 (27:44):
What what is this, Greg? It makes no sense.
Speaker 7 (27:48):
Yeah, you hit it, Rob, like this is an organization
that is they're desperate, right, so they're willing to do
any and everything just to try to appear in the
ps of the fan base and to appear relevant. I
get it. Their season was in ruins. The moment Aaron
(28:09):
went down after those four games or for those four snaps,
this season was over. I don't think any of us
believe that they had a chance to do any special.
And moving forward now that it's kind of this lowered
expectation of Okay, well it's not year one. If Aaron
Rodgers any longer, can he still find a way to
(28:29):
get this team to be competitive even next year? And
I don't know if that is even a case, the
case with this type of significant injury, it's gonna take
time for him to get back to one. We'll see.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Man.
Speaker 7 (28:43):
Like you said, the Jets have been jetting since I've
been born.
Speaker 5 (28:47):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
I grew up with that team. That was my team
growing up, Greg. I used to go to Sha Stadium
and take the seven train and all that. And I've
seen them do this over and over and to me,
you put them out there. Can you imagine if he
gets hurt his careers.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Over Nah, that would be crazy. That would be crazy.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
All right, let's go to tomorrow night. We got a
big game on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Night Seattle and Dallas in Dallas.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Now, if you're a player on the Cowboys, Greg, and
you've blown out all these bad teams, but you lost
obviously the Philadelphia, no shame there, but you lost that
game and you lost badly to San Francisco.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
What is the mentality?
Speaker 4 (29:29):
Are you going into this game thinking, look, let's prove
we can beat a good team or does it matter
the fact that you're blowing out these bad teams?
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Does that make up a race?
Speaker 4 (29:41):
Kind of that memory against San Francisco and any doubt
that that might have created on.
Speaker 7 (29:47):
That team, not at all. You don't as a player,
you don't care who's on your schedule. You can only
play who's on your schedule. So you take care of business.
And it's the way the Dallas Cowboys is been approaching
all these games. They can't. It doesn't matter who's on
their schedule and who's up next. It's matter the matter.
What really matters is if they get it done. Because
even if you've been calling those teams samata cans, if
(30:10):
they would have lost so multiple Samata cans, that would
have been even more of an indictment on that team,
the organization. And so for me, when you look at
the Seattle Seahawks, they're a playoff team right now. They
just have to get a win. I don't care how
you get it. You gotta you just gotta get one
because it applies pressure to a team in your division
to then win on Sunday, and it gives you an
(30:31):
opportunity to still try to reach your goal, which is
capturing that number one overall seeds.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
No, no, no doubt, no doubt about it. The talk
about Michael Parsons saying that Dak Prescott is that should
be ahead of Patrick Mahomes or should be in the
top three. I guess is what he said for MVP.
Where are you on that with Dak? And is it
just compiling numbers or strength of opponents and kind of
(31:03):
wins factor in as well.
Speaker 7 (31:06):
Look, I believe right now, the way that Dak has
been playing in these last few weeks, he is the
MVP at the National Football League. There's no wow, There's
no player that you can put up against him that
that we can say, oh, yep, they've been playing better
than Dak Prescott. You can't. You can't do that unless
you unless Tyreek Hill gets the two K.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
And the what Jalen Hurts has done doesn't hasn't moved
you at all.
Speaker 7 (31:30):
Look, look, we don't the problem with what Jalen Hurts
and what he's done. He's had moments throughout the courses
of these games, and I love Jalen Hurts. Where he
hasn't been, he hasn't been the MVP. Like in last
week's game for three whole quarters it was like where
the tecular hurt?
Speaker 5 (31:49):
I mean, we have five touchdowns, but he had five touchdowns.
Speaker 7 (31:52):
And I totally, I totally hear you, guys, But if
you look at you. There has to be there has
to be the wild factor. He has the wild factor
the Jalen Hurts. He has that if this team continues
to win and he continues to play at a high level,
I think that he's putting it together a season in
(32:14):
the case of which you can argue his case. But
Jack Truscott, right now, this team is playing well. The
only case that you can argue against him is the
fact that, oh, they're not playing tough opponents.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
I think I think that's huge being I think that's
huge the team that he piles up the big numbers
against UH and all it takes is one for another
bad outing against a good team, and nobody will even
consider that that's the problem because of his history.
Speaker 5 (32:43):
That That's why.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
I don't think he's the m v P or he's
even in the top three. The way people are looking at.
Speaker 7 (32:50):
It, Okay, well, right, titles of your own peace. But
with it, you see how you went all the way
back to bad mystery with that. No, but I'm just
saying we're talking about s season. The season impressive.
Speaker 5 (33:07):
Do you remember the year I think it was, I
don't know which one it was for Aaron Rodgers when
he won the m VP.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
But tom Brady had better statistics, but better like like
better totals like more yards for passing or whatever, and
more touchdowns. But Aaron had better big games against better
teams than Tom Brady, and Aaron won it easily.
Speaker 5 (33:28):
You don't think that that that factors in. I'm just
asking you.
Speaker 7 (33:34):
Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. We will see if
that continues to play well regardless of who he's playing,
just because he's playing these teams. If he weren't performing
at the level that he's been performing, then absolutely he
has no chance. But the fact that he's performing with
these teams that he's been given to play on the schedule. Look,
(33:57):
you can't you can't knock him for that in my opinion.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
All Right, that's Greg Jenny's hey man, get out there.
Give me at least a one thirty seven next time.
Next time you're out there. All right, that's the great Gregg.
All right, brother, we'll see you tomorrow. Keep it locked

Today, it's time, folks for Shekel City.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
Welcome to Shekel City, the home base for Ron Parkers
Day Dicks against the scrap.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
All right, Shekel City last night two and one. Chris
got all three games right, but the Kings were minus
two and a half. They only won by a point,
So that game was my only loss of the night.
Two and one on Shekel City. So maybe I'm heating
up again tonight. Best bet if you're just tuning in,
you know, Shekel City's all over social media before the
(35:41):
game start. But I picked the Lakers minus seven and
a half at Detroit. Christmin's the score now, can you
see it forty seven thirty four, okay, so they got
a comfortable lead. Also later I got the Suns minus
three and a half. No, they had the Raptors, so
that game's underway, Sons minus three and a half. Now
(36:02):
they got the Jazz with the upset plus four and
a half in Memphis taking on the Grizz. So I
got the Lakers minus seven and a half, Sons minus
three and a half, and the Jazz plus four and
a half for an upset right there. And remember, I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
All right, Rob, Well, let's get to a little hot stove.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
And uh, there is talk about the Yankees trading for
one Sodo with the Padres.
Speaker 2 (36:35):
You like that move, You think they should try to
do that? Or what?
Speaker 5 (36:39):
You know what I said this Chris on MLB Network.
The Yankees need some stars, they need to stop. They
got two. They got Judge, okay, g and Carlos Stanton.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
He's hurt all the time, right, but they don't have
like Judge look like an iron man.
Speaker 5 (36:55):
Yeah you know what, man?
Speaker 1 (36:56):
He and both of them and Judge got hurt last year.
The Yankee season got due, but they need some some
some stars. They can't keep putting out all these guys
who are nameless and faceless. That's what the Yankees had
last year, Chris, Like it was almost unwatchable when Judge
was out and you looked at the lineup, Uh want
to go and get.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
Showhaned, because because if you get but if he's not
interested in coming to anyway to.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
The East coast. My only thing is this, he didn't
actually go to San Diego and tear it up.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
You know that right when he got traded from Washington,
he did, remember he turned down four hundred and forty
million dollars quitch, which I don't think he'll ever get again.
Speaker 5 (37:36):
I don't. I mean, that was a colossal, colossal mistake.
Speaker 10 (37:41):
Because he hasn't You're right, he hasn't played nearly that well, no,
since leaving Washington. So Chris, if I'm the Yankees, you
could get a look see for one year, see what
he's like. He's a left handed hit her at the
short porch and right field. How he how he plays
in that park, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (37:59):
And and he'll look see and then if he's good,
you sign him, you know, But I wouldn't just sign
him in, I mean trade for him and automatically sign him.
I would I would like look at him as a
rental to see, you know, uh, how he how he
plays that ballpark, does he handle playing in New York?
(38:19):
You know all those different things. If you just go
out and sign him to a ten year contract, you
don't even know.
Speaker 4 (38:25):
Nah, that makes sense. I mean if if I look,
if I could get oh tany that's what I do, right,
if you could get him he doesn't want to go
to the West coma east coast. The Mets are still talking,
but you know there's talk about them, but I don't
you know, if he don't want to go to the East,
he don't want to go, so nothing you can really
do about it.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
But yeah, I agree with you. Outside of that, I
agree with your logic because you're right, you got you
get to see what he can do for a year,
see if he bounces.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
Back, and see if he can hand on New York.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
Yep. Absolutely, Now in that case it makes a lot
of sense.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Would I wouldn't be against it if I'm the Yankees
try it out. I mean, the Padre signed so many
people to so much money, it just looks like there's
no way they're gonna resign him as well.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
That was the thinking Tattoos.
Speaker 4 (39:13):
That's their future is I mean the way like they've
had a few years where they've gone for it.
Speaker 5 (39:19):
Yeah, haven't got it. They still got it.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
They still have a really good team. Last year was
so weird. I can't put my finger on it. Everybody
had them, Chris making the playoffs and make it a run.
That team is good on paper. It just didn't click.
They got it, you know, they got rid of the
manager who went to the Giants. Uh. So it'll be
interesting to see if they can bounce back and see
(39:41):
how it plays out. Even if you keep solo to
you know, to the trade deadline, Chris, and then if
they're not playing well or whatever, and and and you
make a move. You still have Tattoos. You still have
Manny Machado, you still have Xander Boguards. You got a
great team already, you know what I mean, even without
yep so Soto. So I would if I'm the Yankees,
(40:03):
I'm interested in them.
Speaker 5 (40:05):
All right.
Speaker 4 (40:06):
Uh we'll see what they do. It's always interesting to
watch hot Stove in m l B. All right, keep
it locked here for two more hours. It is the
