get to this later. But breaking news, our colleague Shannon

(01:00):
Sharp is leaving. According to The New York Post is
leaving undisputed with Skip Bayless after the finals.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Is breaking news, is true? And yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
I'll say this about Shannon. People weren't sure Chris as
a former athlete being able to do you know, a
show like that and be able. Shannon succeeded with flying colors.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Shannon was fantastic, fantas fantastic, no's no, no, is I
right like Chris absolutely and not just talking football. No,
he did a great job on basketball. I mean mainly
that's what you talk football and basketball, but he did
a great job on both and excellent, always prepared, I
never yeah, always prepared.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Great.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
And I'm gonna tell you this as far as a guy.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Who's a big star, I mean a Hall of fame
football player who has a bigger than life personality. And Chris,
you noticed because you've been around him for years and years,
knew everybody's name in the studio, got along with everybody,
didn't big time people just for real.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Hard worker yep, hard work like hard worker, he didn't.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I mean he didn't just rest on his laurels of
I'm a full you know, I played football and in
fact I'm a Hall of famer because Chris.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
He did his work.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Man, he was reading, he was you know, I mean
that's a big part of his job.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
You know that.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Right.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
You got to stay on top of everything and do
your research. It's one thing to have an opinion. This
goes for those I'm sure you teach this that your always.
Anybody can have an opinion, right, you gotta be able
to back it up.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I always tells.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
They skipping Shannon would have fifteen twenty minute debates on
the same topic, right, So you you you can't have
one point to back up your general opinion and think
that's it. You better be able to respond to their
the person's objections and go deeper and deeper still. And

(03:13):
Shannon did a great job. Wow, this is stunning to me.
And it's a buyout, Rob.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Yeah, that means that he had a contract and he
just can't do it anymore once out.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Yeah, so we'll get to that a little later though,
But yeah, shout out to Shannon. Love him, I love absolutely,
we both no doubt known them both for years.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
For years and a true professional or friend. Uh you know,
I could have missed that guy being around and stuff
like that.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
So so all right, let's get into the topic. Rob
And speaking of breakups, yo Van Bojah, friend of the show,
covers the Lakers for The Athletic.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
He wrote in his latest mail bag Rob he.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Was he was asked about Lebron's future with the Lakers,
and he said this, based on conversations I've had over
the past week or so, I'd say there's about a
ten percent chance Lebron James isn't back as a Laker
next season, either due to retirement or plan for another team.

(04:20):
Everyone with and around the team I've spoken to believes
he's returning. That said, Rob, he brings up the notion
of Lebron going to another team. No, I don't think
any of us, either of us thinks he's going to retire.
But what are your thoughts? And I'm sure you don't

(04:42):
think this is gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Either, But let's for the sake of discussion interesting.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
In fact, you know what, I'll just you were gone
when this kind of came out last week. But Rob
g bring us up to speed on what the ringer
I won't say reported but talked about wrote about about
a week ago.

Speaker 7 (05:05):
Yeah, it was a column by Kevin O'Connor, who is,
you know, very plugged in. He's just a good all
around baseball or's gonna be basketball head, And he wrote
in one of his more recent columns about Lebron James,
you know what would be potential, you know, reasons for
Lebron floating out that hey may or may not retire,
And he speculated, you know, maybe it's a way to

(05:26):
put pressure on the Lakers front office, maybe he actually
is considering retirement. And then the very last reason he
mentioned was what if he's angling for a way to
get to Golden State and team up with Steph Curry.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Because he said Rob that he Steph would be the
one guy he'd loved to play with. I'm gonna say
this and Rob g and I discussed this before the show,
Rob and that we we agreed on it. I don't
think it would be a great look for Lebron to
go anywhere else for anything other than sentimental reasons. For instance,

(06:05):
if he wanted to go back to Cleveland and finish
his career there because that's his hometown team, who can
argue with that. If he wanted to go to Cleveland
or some other team that had a great chance or
was you know, in a situation where they could make

(06:26):
sure that they got his son, Bronnie the following year,
and Lebron would be there with Brownie. Again, that's he's
wanted to play with his son. If it's all good
with Bronnie and Savannah, his wife, then I'm not gonna
criticize it, even though I may disagree. And so if

(06:49):
he but if he went to another team, rob Let's
throughout Golden State since that was an article.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
I just think.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
People people, there are some that already still don't like
that Lebron went to Miami with Wade and Bosh, or
that he went back to Cleveland and made sure they
got Kevin Love to go along with Kyrie, and that
when he got to the Lakers, that he made sure
they got Anthony Davis.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
And if he were to do that, like.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Go to a team that he feels that he feels
is better but you know, the Alive, the Warriors or
some other stacked team Milwaukee, I mean, that wouldn't happen.
But I just don't. I think a lot of people
it would just be a bad, bad look. He already
has a great team, rob I don't. I don't, probably not,

(07:45):
but it's arguable. Heck, the Lakers might be the second
best team in the league right now, and so he
has a very good team where he's at. So I
don't think he needs to if he just leads he
used to try to go attach himself to some other
stars that he thinks can help him get that fifth ring.

(08:07):
I mean, you you who You're getting much more than
Anthony Davis, you know, so I just think that.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
I just think it looks bad anyway.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
I told you before, when Lebron retires and they put
a statue out in front of that arena in Cleveland
in one hand and will have a basketball on the
other hand, he will have a suitcase. I mean, that's
just where he is. And at some point, Chris, you
gotta stop, like you can't. Where are you going?

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Come on? It would look.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Bad and to go somewhere else and and say you
don't win and you're just playing out the string with
your son like like, and the problem.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Even you think even that would look bad.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
I'm just saying to play out the string.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
And the problem I have, and I've brought it up
to you before, is if if he does go play
with Bronnie, Bronni has to be the star, not Lebron.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
That's that's my issue, Chris, is that no.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
I know you remember when Kate Griffy went to go
play with Ken Griffy Jr.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
His father was on the bench. It was fine to.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Be a left handed he went off right, Chris, like that,
like that wasn't over the top of the marriagis need
a left handed bat?

Speaker 3 (09:12):
His dad could come off the bench and play.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
Once a week, and that was fine, but Ken Griffy Jr.
Was the star, not his dad.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Right right, right, No, Look, I voiced my opinion.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
I mean, I think Lebron from everything we see, has
been a terrific father. Obviously came from a fatherless home himself,
so he's used that to motivate him to be a
great dad. And that might be where this stems from Rob,
you know, wanting to play with his son. But I
just without any knowledge of their you know, situation, I

(09:49):
just feel like usually Rob kids in that situation.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
You know.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
I mean, can you imagine the shadow over you when
Lebron James is your dad? And Lebron's even said to
himself that he kind of regretted, you know, naming him
Lebron Junior. And that's maybe one reason everybody calls him
Bronni because it's obviously different, you know, from Lebron. But
I usually you want to even if your dad's not

(10:19):
a huge star, superstar, to put it lightly, you still
everyone wants to have their own identity at some point.
My daughter's Rob who are twins a little different situation,
but they're identical twins and they went to separate colleges,
and one of the reasons was because as close as

(10:40):
they were, they always hung out together and had the
same friend group in high school and all that, but
they wanted to establish their own identity apart from each other, right,
not be viewed as a unit or as the twins.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Right, they wanted to be viewed as an individual.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
And I would imagine that Brownie, you know, it's gonna
want that himself, and so I'd love it. It'd be
awesome if they're in the league together, but I personally
think the ideal thing would be, you know, Lebron's on
one team and Brownie's on another. But again, it really
is more about Brownie, and if he really wants that,

(11:22):
like really sincerely wants it, then you know that's fine.
But yeah, I again, Rob, I wouldn't have a problem
if he moved for that reason or just to go
back to Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
But I just don't think.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
He's too good too at this stage of his career,
just be trying to latch on to somewhere else to
win the championship. And again there's no evidence that that's
what Lebron's trying to do. But just to you know,
talk about this story. I just I don't think that'd
be a good look.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Yeah, I don't either. I just don't see it. I
think that he wants to be in LA and.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Yeah, he came out here for more than basketball.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Right, and I just think that, you know, that's where,
that's where it is, and I just think it would
look bad to go somewhere else, especially if you don't win.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
You know, like, even if he did win, it would
just I mean, at least in the for the time being. Now,
ultimately people just look back and say, you got five rings,
right or six rings or whatever it would be. But
in the moment, it would kind of be like if
he you know, it would be just you know, people

(12:41):
would look at the rings. If you went to a
stacked team, people would look at those rings. Funny at
this stage of his great I think, but all right,
we're gonna throw it out to you guys eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine
six sixty three sixty nine. What do you think would
it be a bad look if Lebron James left the

(13:03):
Lakers for another team?

seven ninety nine on Fox. But it'd be a bad
look for Lebron to leave the Lakers for another team.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Your thoughts?

Speaker 5 (14:30):
All right, let's kick it off where Steve and Brooklyn.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports.

Speaker 9 (14:35):
Radio, originally from Bedstide. But I'm up here in toucshon
now and I hope both for you along with your
beautiful families are doing well. Guys.

Speaker 5 (14:43):
Thank you Steve from Bedstar. That's right now.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
See, for you people who don't know anything about New York,
you would never say if you met a guy and
you lived in the city, Chris, you would never say
I'm from Brooklyn.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
You would say, I'm from bed Star.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Am I right? Steve?

Speaker 9 (15:00):
Right Bedstide doing Dying? I'm a Caucasian from BEDSTYLEE wow.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
I've been to Bedsty. My father in law lived in
bed Style. It's a lot of Caucasians coming in there.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Now, would you wouldn't recognize the play?

Speaker 10 (15:16):
So I'm gonna go where you guys may not want
me to go, and I'm gonna go into the goat
controversy real quick because Michael Jordan, the closest superstar or
a player that was close to being a superstar only
average sixteen six and five throughout his career, and that
with Scottie Pippen. But Lebron hunts just like to me

(15:38):
kd hunts. They hunt for opportunity to win those rings where.

Speaker 9 (15:43):
Michael does not. So Lebron's already known as being a hunter.
So at this point, I don't think he would care
about being embarrassed going to Golden State. He shouldn't because
I think it'll make his look even worse. But you know,
I could.

Speaker 10 (15:56):
See him doing that, and I'll let you guys come
in up.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
That's what I'm saying, Rob, is that there are people
out there, particularly of our generation, that feel that way.

Speaker 11 (16:08):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
And then when you compare it to Jordans, Yeah, and
this would just you know, it'd be the cat and
the fact that Jokics just won it without or not,
it hasn't just won it. But whoever wins it this year,
Jokish or Butler, it's not gonna be a super team.
Last year you had Golden State with it without Kevin Durant.

(16:32):
The year before you had Giannis without a super team.
So I think that that.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Also would turn people off.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
And I don't think Lebron will do this, but we're
just discussing it.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
If indeed he were to.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
Do Alexander in Nashville. You're on they couple of Fox
Sportsudo was up?

Speaker 11 (16:51):
Yo, what's going on? My god? You very much. You
taken my call. I appreciate y'all, man, the commentaries, the
insightfulist got good shows.

Speaker 6 (16:58):
Man.

Speaker 10 (16:58):
I'm just like you every day and that's you know,
I own my.

Speaker 11 (17:02):
Own plumbing company here. I'm just trying to make the
world a better place. But you all, y'all give me
a very good, very good moments.

Speaker 9 (17:08):
Man.

Speaker 11 (17:08):
But I'm from af and I support Lebron like through
and through. That's my guy. I mean, he's done for
the community everything, you know. But going to go to state,
I mean, that's pushing it. You know, that's pushing it.
I got to say that they got a good.

Speaker 10 (17:23):
Thing in La going.

Speaker 11 (17:24):
I think they need to keep that, you know. I mean,
I can understand it. He came back to Cleveland, which
I much would respect. But you just got you know,
La or Cleveland, that's all that's that's that's all, that's
all that matters, you know.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Yeah, No, look, I agree, and I again, I don't
think you will move on from the Lakers, but yeah,
I agree with that college sentiment through and through.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Yeah, let's go to Sean. Our buddy is Sacramento. Sure
you're on the EYD couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
What's up?

Speaker 12 (17:55):
Year old allcle from another mother. My brother's behind the
board and ya, I haven't had a chance in greatratulate
the big Man yet National Association with Black Journalists Hall
of Famer mister Rob Parker had another one to the list.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Thank you so much, Seawan.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
You know I'm excited August fourth for big luncheon in Birmingham, Alabama.

Speaker 5 (18:16):
How's that?

Speaker 10 (18:17):
Hey man?

Speaker 12 (18:18):
That's that's huge. And for what you've done to the
game so far with them, MLB, bro dot Com and
everything else, well deserved. But I gotta say Chris was
holding it down eating cupcakes, skintles.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Getting two things.

Speaker 12 (18:30):
I mean what he did to.

Speaker 11 (18:32):
Eat week those guys.

Speaker 12 (18:34):
World of hel those ones, baby, But those.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
Guys are fought hard.

Speaker 11 (18:39):
You should respect Rob G though.

Speaker 12 (18:40):
Rob G on Monday, I feel like you you you
stepped them up a little bit in the respect game, Chris.
But on this topic, there is no way Lebron can
go to Golden State chasing rings, and you you always
talk about it. You you put the goats up there,
and you nitpicked them the hardest. If he didn't make
the playoffs, let alone win the ring. There's not enough

(19:01):
baby oil or cool cigarettes in the world to satisfy
Rob the rat the next day. He can't do it. Man,
stick to what he's doing. He might go stay in
La as long as Bernie's a usc and then whenever
wherever Bronnie goes. I love your take, Chris, for some
manning reasons, go ahead and follow the young man. It's
gonna ruin Bronnie's career. But that's what help it's on.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
It's gonna ruin Briannie's career.

Speaker 12 (19:22):
Imagine if your dad, Chris was on every plane you
were on traveling around.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Well, I feel you, That's what I'm saying, don't do
it if lebron think if that's the case. And look,
I don't know what conversations are in the household, but
I don't know. I'm sure they tried to look at
every angle of this. But yeah, I like I said,
I wouldn't at nineteen, I love my father. I wasn't

(19:46):
trying to hang out on every night. You know, all right,
we're gonna get the Skip and Shannon next.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
And Rob, I'm gonna be honest, I'm stunned by this
news of Shannon Sharp leaving Undisputed.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
I think it's a big loss for FS one.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
I thought they had, you know, at least gotten to
a point where they Skip and Shannon could coexist. You know,
they were still doing the show great. But apparently they
are not going.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
To go on.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
I remember the moment because I saw it. Yeah, And
the moment, the moment that Skip said to Shannon that
he was jealous of Tom Brady. He was criticizing tom
Brady's play, and Skip basically said that, like the criticism
wasn't valid and the only reason you're criticisen tom Brady
because you're jealous of At that moment, Chris, I said

(21:02):
that those two just got separated, like I did.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
Like at that moment, you remember you know what I'm
talking about?

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Am I right? That was a moment, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
I totally And during that show. If you remember, Shannon
took off his.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Glasses and Skip said, don't take your glass or put
you put your glasses back on.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
That's what he said.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
And yeah, a lot of people didn't like that, and
and and Shannon put him on. I don't think he
should have. I would have just kept them bad boys
off for the rest of the show.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
I saw you and Jason Whitlocke once on his old show.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
On his show, he tried to big told Chris a
big time, be quiet, this is my show or whatever,
and you were like, no, I'm on here to talk.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
I said, I'm on the set. Remember that. He hadn't
let everybody know, Chris, this is my show. Remember that.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
But that was a moment. And that moment, if you
watch Undisputed, to me was a defining moment.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
It just it just was. I knew it then, Chris.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
I knew it then, right, Because you and I are
close with both of them, and like both.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
We worked on all three shows with Skip. We know
Skip from Cole Pizza.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Chris and I are the only two guys, not even stephen.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
A worked on Colpek. Right, You're right, okay.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
Chris and I are the only two guys who worked
on all.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
Three debate shows on col Pizza, First Take and Undisputed.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
And if we do twenty that's twenty plus years.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Yes, it's a long His Pizza start around two thousand
and one or something like that. And yeah, it's you know,
so I don't know. The thing is where do they go?
I mean, like you said, Shannon was terrific. There's no
if saying. I mean, you could almost forget. I mean,
he's big, so it's hard to forget. He was a

(22:56):
great athlete, right, but he was so good that that
wasn't like he his takes were getting respect for the
takes themselves.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
Just a broadcast like like that. That's what he had
morphed into, not just some football guy, uh making noises,
you know what I mean. And and a lot of
guys they aspire to do that. But you know, it's
it's one of those things like you know, people split up,
things happen along the way.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
But I'll tell you one thing.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
The one thing, Chris, and you know we've had our
fights on the radio or whatever, but you gotta be
real careful or we're crossing lines because you don't want
to hurt your partner to the point where you have
to show right, does that make sense?

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Right?

Speaker 1 (23:50):
And just I mean we've gone at it and our
our regular listeners know it.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
I don't think we've disrespected each other, right, And there's
a there's disagree.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
Yeah, right, but there's the disrespect.

Speaker 5 (24:06):
And obviously Chris and I go back to nineteen ninety
two known each.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Other too, is that we know each other so well
and we traveled the same roads. We know what it's like.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
You know, I have respect when Chris talks about stuff
because I know he's been there, he's covered stuff.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
It's not like where one guy.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
You know, Chris, you're doing a radio show with somebody
who hasn't walked in your steps. Sometimes it's harder to
have the same kind of respect for somebody who hasn't
done it. But we both come from the same backgrounds,
and I think that's why, even if there's a blow
up or situation, it never crossed that line. But but
but that moment of that show I just.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Remember watching I can't disagree, I can't disagree, and and
I just don't think that was you don't need to
go there, you.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Know, to basically say that, you know, like he's not
like Shannon can't have a can't criticize Brady, and the
only reason he's criticized because he Shannon show up to
a Hall of Famer in his own right, Chris, he
didn't play quarterback.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Why would he be jealous of Tom Brady? Yeah, that yeah,
that's the thing. And even if he were a quarterback,
I wouldn't think that'd be right. But I'm just saying,
but that is no.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
But to your point, that just makes it like what like,
I'm sure that thought has never even crossed Jan's mind.
I'm sure that like why would it, you know what
I mean? And so yeah, but it's look, and I remember.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Something, Chris.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
One thing if you if you if you go back
and watch that clip, Shannon said something like, I try
to remember this with me. You mean to tell me
I'm here with you every day and you still am
I right?

Speaker 3 (25:49):
One something for me or something to that. Yes, you
hear him over me.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
And I'm here with you every day, right right right,
that's what he's saying.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
Now, it's rob And that's a situation too.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
There were those and you may have talked to somebody
about it who felt like, you know what, even though
they may have sided with Shannon and the day he
didn't show up, remember, was after the DeMar Hamlin injury,
and then Skip tweeted out, you know, how are they

(26:23):
gonna postpone the game?

Speaker 3 (26:24):
How you're gonna make it up?

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Which was a legitimate tweet, but it was, you know, people,
it was insensitive at the time.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Nobody cared about the geest Chris making up the game
at that.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Time, Like right, it was about the guys.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
That was something that people were talking about, but it
was you just came off as insensive guys and guy's
laying still on the field and you're worried about when
the game's gonna be made up? Right, But but my
point is that's something you do have to deal with,
you know what I mean. And I'm not I'm not
trying to defend the tweet, but I'm just saying people

(26:58):
looked at it, like you said, as insensitive. But there
were something that felt, even as Shannon was highly upset
by that tweet, that you never give up your seat,
that you you still got to show up, you know
what I mean? And even if it's too did disagree
with the.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
Tweet Now, maybe Shannon, maybe he feels like it.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Would have just got too hot, which I get, you
know what I mean, but.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
It was it was Yeah, it's I'm stunt because and.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
The fact that, like we said, it was a a buyout.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
It's not like the contract expired. That made.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Right, right, And I get, look that, dude, that's professional.
I mean, because you wouldn't, I, Rob, I thought they
had gotten past it because you didn't see any like
Shannon was last I feel, and smiling and Joe vial
like he always has been. But you know, I guess

(28:07):
it was just too much. It'll be interesting to see
where he goes.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
And you'll have plenty of suitors because he's made a brand,
oh yeah, brand for itself.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
And uh, they'll they'll be they'll be a show for him.

Speaker 13 (28:21):
Him.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
It's Sean Salisbury, rob Ge.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Uh just did he tweet our friend of us this
show used to be our colleague at ESPN Former NFL players?

Speaker 3 (28:30):
Well what did he tweet?

Speaker 6 (28:31):
Rob G? What?

Speaker 3 (28:32):
He's already putting it out.

Speaker 7 (28:33):
He's saying at FS one, I will pay my own
way for that audition to battle with Skip Move.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
The needle ain't even cold yet.

Speaker 11 (28:45):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (28:46):
Well, it's gonna be tough to replace Shanny, you guys,
agree with that.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Put it lightly to it's gonna be it's gonna be
real tough.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Yeah, real, But it doesn't mean it doesn't mean that
they won't be people lined up.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Don't kid your.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
Sow yo, no, no, but it's just gonna be tough
to find the right person, right, you know, Let's let's
get some callers on this rap. Yes, eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six
sixty three sixty nine, Skipping Shannon are breaking up after
the finals, so that's only a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Your thoughts is Christian Robb. They couple Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 1 (29:33):
All right, it's the Odd Couple live from the Tie
Right dot com studios. You're turned away in on the
pending breakup of Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharp on Undisputed
Your Thoughts.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Let's kick it off with Andrew in Denver. You're on
the Odd Couple Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 14 (29:56):
Hey, what up, y'all? I just wanted to say Future
fans been watching Evans and.

Speaker 11 (29:59):
So the sixth grade, Wow, always.

Speaker 12 (30:02):
Watched you guys a huge friand huge fans.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Thank you man, thank you.

Speaker 14 (30:05):
And honestly, it just sucks like seeing two people you
admire their opinion. You know, I admire Skip. A lot
of people don't, but I admire him in his opinion.
You know, he's covered so long, you know, yep, and Shannon,
like from playing the NFL to going where he's at
right now, like that's let's put that's putting it work,
you know, like you can't just that. But ever since,

(30:27):
like uh skipped this someone Life TV, it was like
it's down to happen, you know, like that breakup was
down to happen, Like I've been watching for so long
you could just tell like it don't seem genuine no more.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
That moment wouldn't have been surprising.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
It wouldn't have been surprising if they never got back
together after.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
That, you know what I mean. I mean, Chris, it
was actually surprising that they did.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Yep, and then and then at this point, even as
you said, you know, and it stated that there's a buyout.

Speaker 5 (30:55):
It's not like his contract ended. He can't even get
to the end of.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
It, like he's like, oh no, I'm done, Like I can't,
I can't do this anymore. Andre in Massachusetts joined the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (31:08):
What up, Dray, how you doing the Cold War?

Speaker 10 (31:11):
Between?

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Uh? We lose? On the did we lose a Cold War?
I wanted to hear this, Chris, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
You hear me, right go ahead?

Speaker 13 (31:20):
Yeah, yes, So this Cold War it's been raging, had
since to mar Hamlet and we saw it when Skip
when when Shannon decided not to show up the next day,
and Skip countered that by just doing the show by himself.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Two and a half hours. Remember, you could.

Speaker 13 (31:35):
Have somebody else fill in, but Skip wanted to hide.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
I think it was a surprise. I don't think I
don't think it was that.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
I think it was that it probably came as a
surprise or they might not have found out to that
morning or so would you agree with me, Rob, like,
I don't think. I don't think Skip was like, oh no,
don't bring anybody in. I'll just do it myself. I
don't believe that.

Speaker 13 (31:55):
But the fact of the matter is, you know people
have been watching the show and I follow Fox Sports.
You know, Chris, you on the show. Rob, You've been
on these different shows and we follow it in great contributions.
But when that last comment is made and these guys
look into the camera, they don't say nothing to one another.
I feel like when that when it goes cut, they
just walk off the set and the set is like
absolutely silent. Like you can tell they put on a

(32:17):
good act, like how you doing, you know, just in
terms of the flow of the show, but like it
seems like and it's the complete opposite. On The Herd
you can tell j Mack and Colin like get along.
On some of these other shows, you can tell people
like they're friendly off the set, and then this is
one where and it's unfortunate, but it seems to have
been you know, the way that Shannon reacted, reacted like skip.

(32:39):
People took what he said, you know, and kind of ran.

Speaker 15 (32:42):
Wild on it.

Speaker 13 (32:43):
I kind of thought that he was trying to hedge it.
Was it a little bit insensitive, yes, but I think
that was just a destraw that broke the camel's back
and things have just been building building again.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
I think that was part of it.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
But Chris, the the Tom Brady thing to me is
the one I think that was that that really cut
Shannon deep?

Speaker 3 (33:04):
That's that from watching it.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
You watched it, Yeah, I remember the timing. Now that
was before the hamdling thing. Rob G do you remember
that was before? And yeah, no, I agree. I think
that that's.

Speaker 16 (33:19):
Definitely because of what Shannon said, Like you're gonna because
the other thing wasn't disrespectful the Shannon right it was
it was you know, you didn't like it as an
ex football player.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
But it wasn't like that.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
The other one was about Shannon, Like no, I.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
I yeah that that that that definitely, I think was
the the biggest point doubt.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
Perry in Louisville. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Rated.

Speaker 6 (33:46):
What up, Perry, how you guys doing, man, long time listener,
first time caller, Thank you, thank you about respect for
both of you all. I just want to say, uh,
you know, it's crazy that at first Mike and Mike
now saying it and Skip and uh, I feel like
Shannon was a big part of the reason, man, why
I watched the show. Like, like Rob said, I feel

(34:09):
like that that Brady comment kind of set it off.
And then if you remember, Skip said some real disrespectful
stuff about Dak Prescott's brother. I think that committed suicide.
And in my opinion, it was just like a combination
of a lot of things, of just crazy things Skip
would say. And then the the Brady jealousy comment. I

(34:32):
feel like just was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Unfortunately, Yo, in that comment, that comment was less than
a month before the debar Hamlets.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
See that's what okay?

Speaker 1 (34:42):
So so it was like you you got hit with
a right then a left right away, you know what
I mean?

Speaker 6 (34:48):
Like, yeah, all right, man again, I love you guys,
respect the show, and thanks for taking the cars.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
How about let's go to Leo Chris real quick in
New York City. You're in the eye couple of Fox
Sports when we're here in New York City in the background.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Leo, what up?

Speaker 15 (35:04):
Rob Chris?

Speaker 9 (35:05):
How guy's doing?

Speaker 3 (35:06):
And you in the trap? I know what's going on?
Where are you uptown?

Speaker 15 (35:11):
Where are you at Ium Town?

Speaker 3 (35:13):
I mean say, I know what, Chris. I knew he
was uptown. What you got, man?

Speaker 15 (35:20):
I got to say. This was a shout to me.
I know, I guess what together saying. And I actually
thought that they actually meant defenses After the comment about
Brady and but again, Rob, what you said on the
on the Dama Island tweet? The next day, after Shannon
missed the show and when he came back, they had

(35:41):
this segment when Shannon addressed the tweet and told Skip,
you know what, there's a reason why you have to
take the tweet down, and Kip said, no, I didn't
take the tweet down. And Shutton said there's a reason why.
You know, I told you to take it down, and
Skip was but no, no one told me to take it.
Skip was like that was sitting down on it. And

(36:02):
I was like that right here on top of what
just happened with like a direct shot about Brady, I
was like, you know what, this is not gonna last long.
But I actually thought that actually we're able to, like,
you know, catch things up. But this is the shotcast
to me. I mean, I don't know how I'm gonna
how I'm gonna spend my mornings now with you know.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Well, you don't know, maybe Shannon's got a show somewhere.
You know, you do you be able to pick between
Shannon's show or Skip show. Shannon ain't gonna be off
TV long. I'm telling that the only way he would
be Unlessie he wants to there. There's gonna be a
there's gonna be a plot. Somebody's gonna have a platform
for him.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
And like we said, Rob, there's not gonna be any
dearth of people trying to get that spot.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
That's the coveted you know spot Shannon's gonna be on
le Bron's network.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Well, I thought of that that that is that that
would seem like that be an option interrupted.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
You know, Club shay Shape was hot just this time.

Speaker 5 (37:05):
Channel get paid directly for Lebron.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
This time, Rob, you might be Uh, I'm guessing Rob,
they gonna go to a rotation for a little while.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
At least I'm not in the rotation. They might throw
you up in there.

Speaker 5 (37:19):
You never know, Man, I'm on the MLB network.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
That's where I'm at now, So you can do both.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
I've seen your contract, you got you got room.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
Nah Man, It's a sad day.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
I mean, like we said, we just professionally, I think
it's unfortunate for FS.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
And we came out here to do this show. Chris,
get it off the ground. We have both of them.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
I'm both right, absolutely and I'm obviously still with FS.
One with first things first, and and then just for
two friends Rob, you know, two guys that we both
know well and close with, and you know they had
a great team, but great runs told the next couple
of weeks, Yeah, it's the odd couple. We got an

(38:01):
hour left. Y'all know what to do. Keep that bad
boy locked
