Speaker 1 (00:00):
Real fun with Mario Litpez. What's up you're all? Mario
Lopez joining me now on zoom for maybe a Sea's
Claim to Fame. Kevin and Franklin Jonas, Welcome to the
show man. How you guys doing so?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
How do we get you?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Thanks? Thanks for taking the time right here. Season two
is kicking off on the twenty sixth. Now, for those
who may not be familiar, explain how this works.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
All right, So this show is called Claim to Fame,
and we fill a house with twelve contestants, players that
we like to come that are paul related to someone
famous themselves. The whole goal for them to try who
actually related to their own celebrity relatives. Identity a secret
as long as they can put them through challenges, and
the drama of living in a house was complete strangers.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
It's fantastic, very cool. I'm always fascinated with siblings of
famous people. Y'all happen to be famous, so that's uh,
that's what I am.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
A sibling of other famous people, so I relate. You know.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Well, it's very rare when all the siblings are pretty
well known with his which is great. What can you
tease us with? This war as the season two cast.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Oh, we got some big names. We got some big
names this season. I think a lot of people we
had to really thank god. We had a great response
to the first season, so I think we cast a
bit wider of a net this time. And man, you know,
Kevin and I, we don't know who who anybody's related
to when we go into it, so all our reactions
are very genuine in the moment during the guess offs.

(01:26):
And boy were we really shocked with some of the
people that were on this season.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah, pretty great. That's cool. Man name and Franklin. You
got a new EP dropping on Wednesday, sewer Rat. I
like that title. How would you describe your sound?

Speaker 3 (01:42):
You know, it's it's a colectic, It's we do a
lot of different genres. And I think I sort of
described it when of going into it like a like
a taste test, a little charcouterie board of all the
different things that I like to play with. And it
starts off mostly with samples of songs that mean something
to me, and it continues from there and so it
definitely crosses. I mean, we played stagecoach and that was

(02:04):
such an honor and I can't believe I get to
say that, but I'm not a country artist, but we
have some country songs.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
So there you go, go, there you go, and I Love
Me at Charcuterie Board so great reverence Kevin. The new
Joe Brows single Summer Baby. How'd this one come together?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
You know? It's on the album with that we worked
on with John uh John Bellion, and so we've been
working on it for a long time. It's finally came out,
which was insane, and I feel like we've been on
the promo run of all promo runs for this project.
I've been everywhere and done everything. But it's it's been
so good. Uh, the album has been so well received.
You know. Summer Baby is just a field good song.

(02:40):
The song actually almost didn't make the album. It's crazy.
It's one of the one of the earlier ones we recorded,
and as the progress of the album continued, it just
felt a little bit more. I don't know, it just
they not everyone was like fully on board with it.
But then of course by the end it's everyone's favorite.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
So it's things, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Things need to grow sometimes. Yeah, but it's weird, you know,
waffle House is still doing this thing at radio and
other places. So it's just kind of like, all right,
we'll see how long this one goes, and then we'll
probably transition over to summer baby. But we're just gearing
up for our tour starting in New York on August twelfth. Exactly.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
I love the new sound too, man, the songs, Yeah,
they're popping there. And you mentioned it. This fall is
the Big five albums one night tour. What are you
looking forward to most about going on the road?

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Then be a lot of music that we've got to
play in one nights. It's a lot. We're actually starting
some music rehearsals. I was just saying before we started this,
I'm going to LA next week. I have like a
couple of days that I having to start some stuff
with Nick Joe out there, and we'll see, you know,
we got to figure out how to get all that
music down into a digestible away for people. So they're

(03:44):
not like, what is going on? But I think it's
going to be exciting and this is what people wanted
to see, and so here we go. Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Does the family hit the road with you all?

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Or do they say, yeah, so the girls are in school,
you know, so we try to like try to keep
that as normal as possible, just so that their life
isn't completely just about mine, right, and we want them
to have their own independency in that scenario, we do
mean Danielle, and then we do travel with them a
lot as much as we can, you know, because we'll
start in August, so it we'll probably come for the
summer run until the school starts. Once we hit that

(04:15):
Labor Day weekend, it's kind of like, all right, go
back to Jersey, get the backpacks packed up for for
day one, you know, and so we'll see. But it's
nice that we're gonna be having out in New York
for a while, so.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
It'll be good.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yeah, that's cool. That's good. It sounds a good plan
right there. And then quickly, I know you've got a
children's book coming out. There's a beach in my bedroom. Yeah,
what's it about? Essentially?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, so the book. This is our second one that
me and Danielle have done. It's really cool. This one's
about disappointment, you know, in our life and our line
of work. You have kids, you get it, like things
come up that you have to do last minute, and
you know, we have to transition and you have to
just make adjustments to the schedule. In this book, you know,
it was a big family beach day, but it's going
to rain, So how do you adjust from that? And

(04:55):
you make it special in its own way. So it's
it's about just adjusting to that life doesn't always go
as planned, but somehow you got to make it great anyway.
So that's kind of the concept. And so we're really
excited for that to come out and along with the show,
and a lot.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Happened, and I guess that's less of our kids to
learn right away because that's exactly exactly what, exactly right
those monkey wrenches. I'm just curious when when you drop
waffle House, did they reach out with like lifetime cards
after that?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
You know, I some of them received my lifetime card.
I did speak to Walt, the CEO a couple times. Actually,
they've been really cool about it. I think for us,
you know, it wasn't necessarily about the place waffle House.
The idea of place is like, you know, your special place,
and for us that was a waffle House in the
middle of the night when we were on tour. But
you know, I think everyone has that place. But yeah,

(05:42):
people are connecting to waffle House a big time, obviously
for obvious reasons. And so it's fun to walk in
there and actually hear the song being played on their
on their radios that they have. So I was like, ah,
this is Steel very Meadow right now. Yeah, exactly sure.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
I'm sure they're loving it.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Well.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
I appreciate you too taking the time. Season two of
Claim to Fame is debuting on the twenty six on ABC.
