Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Littpez. It's up here on Mario
Lopez running now on Zoom. Former NBA World Champion, my
Man Metal World Peace, welcome on the show. How you then?
Everything is great? Man a long time. Let seements look
like you're doing well. Thank you brother, thank you likewise
and it's really nice to see you. Um. So you
just did the celebrity survivor type show Beyond the Edge.
(00:22):
How was that? Man? Yeah, it was incredible. I mean
the experience was one of a championship experience. I mean
when I did Beyond the Edge, it was so competitive,
it was physical, it was emotional, it was like you
have to think a little bit. And it was probably
one of the one of my greatest experiences outside of
my children. Uh, it was one of my greatest experiences. Well, yeah,
(00:42):
they said it's an extreme, um celebrity adventure. What would
you say was the hardest hardest part about being in
the jungle? Yeah? I think the hardest parblem at night.
You know, there's so many different things, right, they had
to remove sixteen bullets ship, the snakes, they removed a
bunch of alligators, a lot of poison, the spiders in
that jungle. You know, different plants you really can't eat.
(01:04):
We had we weren't fishing one time, and you know,
we made our own food. A couple of times we
had created on fire. We had to cover the top
of our hut um with the I think at the
name of the leaves, but they think they called palm
leaves the thing um. But we have to you know,
make the roof. And then that broke. It was pitch
black at night, so we couldn't fix it because it
was pulling raining one night. I mean, it was just
(01:26):
like it was a great experience, but it was really hard,
I bet. And there were a lot of legendary athletes
on the show, Ray Lewis, Mike Singletary. Who did you
kick it with most? I think you know, um, we
all we all kicked it together because every day was
a different team, so everybody was pretty much a group.
In order to survive and just have your sanity, you
(01:47):
had to do it together. You couldn't want to do
it separate. What what area were you in again? We
was in Panama and the jungles in Panama. Oh wow,
that's legit out there. And all right, all right, um,
you all will just drop the new shoe that comes
with an n f T. So you're all about keeping
up with what's hot right now? Are our sneaker heads
also into the crypto game? Yeah? You know, I had
(02:10):
an opportunity to partner with Blink Souls, uh and then
my company as a sports which connect basketball players that
we're just trying to give our basketball players different kirks
and different awards. And it was really cool because you know,
fans can purchase then n f T, then they could
receive a shoe this is what Blink souls. And then
we also have another n f T with the Meta
(02:31):
Panda Club. Whe have you purchased the n f T,
you get a jacket and some merchandise um, and then
our players get a chance to win n f T s.
So we actually have games where players are playing for
n f T s, you know, and for that sports.
So it's really cool. It keeps me around the basketball game. Yeah, well,
speaking of basketball, what's up with the Lakers? Man? I mean,
(02:51):
is there is there's is there's not really like one
thing or to point right, is there many factors? And
what's your assessment really is? Now? It's up? It's like
what's down that's true where my Lakers. But you know,
I think the league is competitive, and I also with
Anthony Davis getting injured. You know, last year when Lebron
got hurt, we were probably gonna win that When Anthony
(03:13):
got hurt, we probably was gonna win the title. And
now this year, you know, Anthony gets hurt, Lebron was
out a little bit. Uh, Westbrook had a rough start,
you know, and when you don't really have that synergy
and when the team is that old, you can't afford
you know, injury, you know, you know at the injury
and you need to be there together. So it's really
(03:33):
difficult for them. But they still have an opportunity to
get into the playoffs and then let's see what happens
in first round. You're right, let's see what happens. That's
that's the thing about the NBA. There's only five people
on that court at the time. When the big dogs
goes down, that's that's a major that's a major blow
right there. Um, who do you see in the finals
at the end of the day, if we put the
Lakers aside for a second, Um, Yeah, if we had
(03:57):
to put the Lakers aside and the Lakers didn't exist. Um,
it's correct. I would say, uh, the Sons and the Bucks.
Really the Son's over Golden State. Huh interesting. Yeah, the
Sons in a really good rhythm. They're very confident and
and they are the best team in the league. And
what I really like about them is that they're just
(04:20):
you know, they're they're staying of course, they're not getting
too excited, and they just happen to be the best
team in the league. And they're not going to backtrack,
you know. So yeah, yeah, that's go. Well man, that's okay.
Thanks for the heads up, right there. Hey is it
true matter? The true grandfather? Now? Yeah, my my grand
babies started three years old. Look at that. How you
(04:40):
like you about the youngest granddad? How how you like
being a grandpa? It's great, man, It's another form of motivation.
There's another reason to you know, to just push forward
and you know, trying to cement your legacy and you know,
uh and you know, create a family of generation of
our test is. So you know, I mean, I'm really
happy with it and I'm looking forward to my next grandchildren.
(05:02):
Oh that's great man. Well, listen, it's nice catching up
with you. You You look great. Congrats on everything, and please
