Speaker 1 (00:01):
Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Mario Lopez joining me now on Zoom My girls old
friends of mine Melissa, Joan Hart and so Lay Moonfry.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Welcome back, ladies. How are you?
Speaker 4 (00:11):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Good?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Love you, Maria, I love you, love seeing you. We
were just talking about MJ's naughty pass. Who was the
dude you were smashing out on Boys World?
Speaker 3 (00:22):
You're ridiculous. You're to talk about it. You're the one
that put it out there. I used to smash out
this guy from boy Meets World.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Yeah, that's how I said it.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
What was it?
Speaker 4 (00:30):
Basically was the lingo These days, I don't know what's
the first trap what? I don't know what all this
stuff is.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
But no, I uh know.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Like we were doing the podcast pod Meets World with Wilfredell,
and I remembered that I had written all over my
books Iheartwill and I didn't remember who Will was until
years later. But Will had come to Nickelodeon Studios, Florida
when I was doing Flarissa, and uh he was doing
something there and we held hands at a movie theater.
(01:01):
So yeah, we were joking about a whirlwind romance and
somehow became viral that we had a whirlwind and everybody's
like believing it as opposed to taking it for the.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Oh wah wah like twelve.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
I love hearing about your romantic relationships.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Her a much more exciting. So it was, is that
to show the dude righter Strong was on?
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yes, because you know, a dude named Ryder Strong has
got to be smashing out. If you got a name
like that, you've got to be put in work if
your name is right or strong.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
So I was like, did he with MJ? No? Okay,
I was wrong, not him, not him. I love seeing
you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I know you two were on Sabrina together, But did
y'all know each other prior to that?
Speaker 4 (01:42):
We did.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
We were part of it.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
You were what well, we were party buddies.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
I mean we met in an audition for Punky when
we were really little. And then but you know, you
know how that worm worked out, so and uh and
we and we ran into each other at all kinds
of events growing up and then ended up being good
friends when I moved to LA and we partied a
lot together and just.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
We had the best time ever together, all of us,
the ghosts.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
And now you're teaming up for a new Lifetime short film.
I never thought to ask a mom's quest for answers,
different kind of project.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Basically, it's a short documentary actually raising awareness around meningitis
BE vaccination and achitis BE, which you know my kids
are You know my eighteen year old, she's eighteen now,
is going.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Out into the world. Oh my god, you have an
adult so crazy?
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Oh my god, you guys. We fully did the adulting
this last week in New York. It was crazy, so wild,
But essentially I learned that meningitis BEE was something completely
different from the vaccination that we think that our kids
get when they're younger. And I realized if I didn't
know about it, but there's probably so many other families
that didn't know about it. And I learned so much,
and then Melissa and I came together in this documentary
(02:59):
and it was just such. It's been an incredible journey,
and really to help educate other families.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
That's awesome for those who may not be familiar or
not know at all who's at risk.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
For meningitis B.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Melly, you want to jump in.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
I think it's sixteen to twenty three year olds. Mainly,
it's people that are in close quarters, you know, things
like kissing, sharing kind of soop swap and spit in
a way, and it's contagious and it's it's it's potentially deadly,
and so that you know, we're well the way I
got involved with Sole came to me and said, did
you know about this? And I said, no, I didn't
(03:35):
you know? And so, you know, as moms and his
parents were always sharing information. And I mean, Mario, your
kids aren't yet to that, I mean getting close, right, what's.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
A gea what? No, there's still kind of twelve nine
and four.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Yeah, so you still got a few years. But like
it's good to know ahead of time, Like we didn't
know about these things. So we're spreading the word and
letting people know. And the campaign is asked to be
sure and the idea is, like, you know, talk about
it amongst your friends, share this information as parents, and
go check with your doctor.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Yeah exactly, especially as our kids are going to college
and out into the world, like Melissa said, and they're
in tighter you know quarters and.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Sharing things and you.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Know all the things that you know, teens that age
and young adults like dans and college kids and yeah, absolutely,
so so I was so grateful to learn about it
and now we get to help educate other families.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
What did you learn from moms you talked to about it?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Well, it was it was so heartbreaking meeting the families
because you know, you would have a mother whom like Alison,
who I love so much, and her son was playing
sports one day and this incredible athlete and a week
later she was having to you know, say goodbye and
put her son to rest, and so you know, although
it's uncommon, it is potentially deadly. And hearing these stories
(04:49):
and from these families is just heart wrenching. And I
think so often people think that something can't happen to them, right,
and you know, and then hearing these stories, you know,
these families are like any family, you know, and so
it was a huge learning process.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Good for you ladies to put this out there. How
can we watch it?
Speaker 4 (05:08):
You get, Yeah, it's on Lifetime and you can go
to uh there's a link in their website and Lifetime's
website there's a link to the actual campaign as well
to Ask to be Short campaign.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
As dot com.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
They can learn more nice and well, of course I
put it up on on with Mario dot com. Melissa,
you got a nighty throwback movie in the works with
the dude you hooked up with?
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Is that true back in the day? Is that is
all full circle?
Speaker 4 (05:33):
I'm gonna drag all of you into it. Yes, we're
there's a there's a really funny movie that Will wrote
and he brought to me a while back, like a
while bag, and I like, like the like the good
friend I am. I didn't read it for a while
and then I finally read it and I was like,
I want to be in this movie. I want to
make this movie. So yeah, we're we're getting up and
(05:53):
running on it and it's gonna be a fun nineties throwback.
You guys, uh all gotta get involved someday follow when
we're allowed.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Okay, Yeah, that's right, that's right. So Lew, how old
your kids now? One's eighteen, that's your oldest O.
Speaker 1 (06:06):

incredible trips to New York. All the kids went and
then she and I like really did like.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
The it was.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
It was really incredible. I took my girls, we went
to Madison Square Gardens, saw a show brought On the
eighteenth birthday, I went I mean it was just amazing, like,
oh my god, she's officially kind of a grown up,
but I feel like I'm eighteen, so it's very confusing there.
And then I have my gorgeous so poets eighteen, my
incredible Jagger who is so amazing and beautiful and just
so talented. They're also amazing. She's fifteen, lyric, my incredible
(06:39):
son lyric and story lyrics nine and stories seven. So
I have an entire you.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Know, we've run the full gamut. Yeah, yeah, for God
bless you, that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
I try to know or get him single mom raising them.
It's wow, It's it's a fun time.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
More power to you, God bless you for that.
Speaker 3 (06:57):

it because our third is a little but.

the ages of yours?
Speaker 2 (07:12):

Speaker 3 (07:12):
I know the same as.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
The two older ones are the same ages. So Mason's seventeen,
going to be eighteen in January, and then Brady's fifteen,
and then Tucker's going to be eleven in a few weeks.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
So yeah, getting big.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
And I have to say, Melissa, your birthday message was
the sweetest thing I have ever seen.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I was like, mom, did you see what she wrote?
Speaker 1 (07:32):
And I hadn't seen it and then I saw.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
I was like, oh my god, this is.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
That I know.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Will you.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
I still remember that day of walking in the hospital.
You had already give him birth and it was like
maybe a day later, maybe not maybe a few hours later,
and I walked in and it was just so mind
blowing to see your friend holding a baby and it's
there and it's your baby, like and now she's eighteen?
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Like what happened?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
It does go by quick, they say, but it really
really does. That's awesome. I love seeing you girls, And Melissa,
where you live now? Every time I talk to you
live in a new area.
