Word of Christina Aguilera's comeback is heightening after Page Six reported on Tuesday night (May 1) that the pop veteran has collaborated with Kanye West on a new track off her forthcoming album. It remains to be seen if the Ye'-produced cut is Aguilera's lead single, which has now been confirmed to drop on Thursday morning at 8 AM ET.
"It's very tribal-like, with heavy drum samples," an insider told Page Six, adding that the song was also worked on with additional producers. "The first proper single from the album will be a big duet, but her team isn’t ready to announce the other singer — yet. Christina has changed her look. Her management has got her great new artists and consultants to work with. She's in a great place."
If you've been following along, the singer's rumored comeback track was titled "Accelerate" and reportedly featured Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz. However, with the way that the Page Six report is written, it seems like the lead single may actually be the long-rumored Demi Lovato collaboration. All the various reports seem slightly contradicting to one another, but we're less than 24 hours from learning the truth of Aguilera's brand-new single, so stay tuned!
