Lana Del Rey's fiery Twitter exchange with Azealia Banks could have come to fisticuffs.
The back-and-forth stems from the critical comments Lana aimed at Kanye West last month following the rapper's pro-Donald Trump social media binge. Evidently, her remarks didn't sit well Azealia, who took the "Summertime Sadness" musician to task online in Ye's defense.
"Wow okay Lana, this would be cute if you were consistent with your outrage and refused to collab with A$AP Rocky who has physically assaulted women too," the 27-year-old tweeted with a screenshot of Lana's comment as evidence. "To me this just looks like the typical White woman taking using a weakened target to 'pretend' to be an ally."
The "1991" lyricist kept her tirade going, accusing Lana of faking political awareness for the satisfaction of seeming "woke," so to speak. "Kanye is not your enemy or THE enemy," she added. "In fact your selective outrage makes YOU the enemy. You approve of ASAP rocky because his victims weren't white. You're exactly the kind of thought police Kanye is fighting against...."
Then, in a surprising turn of events, Lana hit back at AB in a way we've never seen her do before.
"[Azealia] u know the addy. Pull up anytime. Say it to my face. But if I were you- I wouldn't," the singer-songwriter sounded off in a since-deleted tweet last night (October 9), warning, "I won't not f**k you the f**k up. Period."
Your eyes aren't deceiving you: Lana basically challenged Azealia to a fight. Still, the vocalist had more to get off her chest. "Banks. u coulda been the greatest female rapper alive but u blew it," she continued. "Dont take it out on the only person who had ur back."
Once the "Ultraviolence" performer unleashed her inner-gangster, the Harlem MC insinuated she's taking legal action. "Where's the pull up tweet? I'm talking to my lawyer," Banks tweeted, to which Lana bravely replied, "Tell him it's a promise not a threat." (!!!)
As for Azealia's promise to Lana? "She's getting sued!"
