Ariana Grande is still grappling with the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.
The "Monopoly" singer admitted that she's still struggling to move forward on her Instagram Story Thursday (April 4), over six months since the 26-year-old rapper's accidental overdose. "Healing is hard work," she wrote. "Accept da ups and downs. be gentle with yourself and surround yourself with gentle energy. you’re not alone."
Hours prior, Ariana, who dated Mac for nearly two years before breaking up last May, thanked her fans for continually supporting her throughout tough times. "U make everything better. thank you for your energy. truly," she said in a series of Instagram Stories. "I love y’all, so much. u have no idea how much y’all help me / how happy u make me. sharing a state / this life with y’all is so beautiful. thank u so much for being here. and for reminding me why i am too!"
The 26-year-old "Self Care" rapper, born Malcolm James McCormick, was found dead in his San Fernando Valley home on September 7.
Last month, Ariana broke down while performing "thank u, next," which mentions Mac, on the six-year anniversary of their first collaboration, "The Way."
"Thanks for accepting my humanness. It's super emo and difficult singing some of these songs. but you make me smile," she wrote of her mild breakdown on Twitter following the show. "I look like Penny Pingleton here. I love u and thanks. I feel your warmth up there and it helps and is greatly appreciated."
