Blink-182 are currently on a co-headlining tour with Lil Wayne, and apparently that's just the beginning of their foray into the world of hip-hop.
During an interview with ALT 105.7, Mark Hoppus revealed that the band was working on an EP to follow their upcoming eighth studio album, Nine.
"We have a lot of stuff that we didn’t put on the record that we kind of set aside for an EP after the album comes out," he explained before divulging what we can expect from the new music, including some rather unexpected collaborators. "It’s some collaborations — we did a track with Pharrell and Lil Uzi [Vert], and we have some other stuff in the works as well that we’re planning on putting out."
Though the EP isn't finished yet, and the trio doesn't plan on dropping it until next year, it sounds like we'll be getting a lot of new blink material in the future. "The whole idea with blink now is to keep writing, keep recording, keep putting out music — I think that it’s really exciting to live in this age where you can kind of record and release music very easily."
While we eagerly await new blink music, we won't have to wait too much longer for Nine, which is slated for a September 20 release. Watch Hoppus and Matt Skiba's interview with ALT 105.7 below.
