Cameron Boyce received an emotional and touching tribute from the Disney Channel following the premiere of 'Descendants 3' on Friday (August 2nd). The late actor starred in the wildly popular 'Descendants' film series as Carlos de Vil, Cruella de Vil's son. He passed away suddenly in early July, sending shockwaves through the fan community and entertainment industry.
Boyce's memory was honored with a two-minute video showcasing some positive behind-the-scenes set moments, kind words from his peers and a collage of photos. Viewers were even treated to some clips from his tenure on the Disney Channel's "Jessie" with star Debby Ryan. One notable segment highlighted Michelle Obama guest appearance on the series, and showed Cameron's excitement in making the former First Lady laugh.
'Descendants' cast-mate Sofia Carson shared a positive comment about Boyce's energy, complimenting him on his 'swag.'
I think Cameron out of the four of us just has like the most swag ever. Like none of us put together could ever have the amount of swag that Cameron has.
The tribute also presented the following touching statement about how much the actor meant to everyone at the television channel.
Everything you are, every smile, every laugh, every dance, every hug, every moment, everyone you touched … you mean everything to us.
On Tuesday August 30th the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed that Cameron Boyce's official cause of death was epilepsy. After some rounds of testing, his passing was confirmed to be natural, sudden and unexpected.
According to People, the Disney Channel cancelled the red carpet premiere of the film in favor of making a donation to the Thirst Project, a charity supported by Cameron. Per the organization's website, the Thirst Project "is a nonprofit organization that works with the support of young people to END the global water crisis by building freshwater wells in developing communities that need safe, clean drinking water."
