In 2018 Lil Nas X dropped his Nasarati mixtape, which featured the song "Kim Jong" that sampled Fiona Apple's "Every Single Night." During a recent interview with Vulture, the singer-songwriter spoke about not letting Panic! At The Disco sample the same song, and apparently addressed the country-rap phenom too (who used the sample without her permission), but that part didn't make it into the final cut.
Apple decided to begin the conversation with the "Old Town Road" singer through a video on Instagram. "“One thing that the lovely Rachel Handler didn’t mention that I did say in the interview which I would just like to say now is that Lil Nas X—you’re probably really great, but you used my song ‘Every Single Night,’ too," she said in the clip. "You sampled that song, too, in a song called ‘Kim Jong Un,’ I think. And, um, hey—where’s my money, you cute little guy? Where’s my money?”
Though the "cute little guy" has yet to answer her question (publicly anyway), Pitchfork points out that the mixtape isn't available on streaming services, so it's unclear if he's made any profit on the song.

In that same Vulture interview, the "Criminal" singer revealed that she's working on a new album and hopes to put it out sometime early next year (!!!).
