Blink-182 Reveal Why Lil Wayne Walked Off Stage During Co-Headlining Tour

The blink-182 and Lil Wayne joint tour this summer came with plenty of complications, from the rapper pulling out of sets due to everything from sickness to trouble with the police, to full shows getting postponed and eventually canceled, but one of the most talked about incidences was when Weezy walked off stage 20 minutes into his set, leading fans to believe he was going to drop out of the tour all together. (He didn't.)

During a recent interview, the pop punk veterans addressed that infamous night. When asked “How much of a nightmare was Lil Wayne?” the trio quickly came to the emcee's defense.

“He was awesome,” Mark Hoppus replied. “He was awesome, his band was amazing, his whole crew, everybody. It was so fun all summer long.”

He, Travis Barker, and Matt Skiba went on to explain that Tunechi always had a reason for canceling his sets, so it never frustrated them. Barker also revealed the real reason why he cut his set short and walked off stage.

“The one day where he walked off stage, he had said, ‘I just felt like they didn’t like me,’ so he walked off stage," he said. "‘I didn’t want to put them through it. I just wanted you guys to be able to get on and do your thing.’”

Blink-182 is part of iHeartRadio's annual ALTer EGO lineup, where they'll be sharing the stage with the likes of Billie Eilish, The Black Keys,The Lumineers, Rex Orange County, and SHAED. The show goes down January 18, 2020 at The Forum in Los Angeles. Find out how you can snag tickets here.
