Childish Gambino Quietly Surprise-Releases New Album Online

The world has been a scary place since the coronavirus began spreading, but as we hunker down and practice social distancing and self-quarantining Childish Gambino has our backs. On Sunday (March 15), the R&B star quietly surprise-released a new album. The collection of new songs is streaming on a loop at the website DonaldGloverPresents.com.

The 12 new tunes include 2018's “Feels Like Summer,” “Warlords” and “Algorythm,” which he previously debuted live, and what appear to be features from Ariana Grande, 21 Savage, and SZA. As of now, details regarding the album are scarce — including its title — but in 2018 Glover said his next album would be his last.

"I’m making another project right now. But I like endings, I think they’re important to progress.” He said at the time. “I think if a lot of things had death clauses in them, we wouldn’t have a lot of problems in the world, to be honest. I think endings are good because they force things to get better.”

Additionally, he said his This Is America tour was his last as Childish Gambino.

Aside from making music, Glover has also been hard at work on the third season of his hit TV show Atlanta; however, production has reportedly halted in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
