Megan Thee Stallion Announces New Single 'Girls In The Hood'

Megan Thee Stallion let fans know that she's starting her next era with the announcement of a new single.

On Wednesday (June 24), Meg announced her new song comes out this Friday (June 26) and is called “Girls In The Hood.”

It looks like Megan honoring her Texas roots with the all-pink album artwork featuring the rapper wearing a bandana-printed halter top that matches the bandana background. Fans, naturally, freaked out at the news and many wondered if we'd be getting more than a single but the 25-year-old confirmed it's a new song.

The new track is not listed as a track on Meg's recently released EP, Suga, making many fans think “Girls In The Hood” is the first official offering from her long-awaited debut album.

The rapper seemingly teased the single announcement a day prior when she posted a video showing off her new hair. If you look closely, you can see a pink bandana tied around her ponytail as well as the same makeup and nails featured on the single artwork.

“Girls In The Hood” is the followup to Megan's “Savage” remix with Beyoncé; which helped the rapper achieve her first No. 1 song. “HOTTIES WE ARE NUMBER 1 ON THE HOT 100 FOR THEE FIRST TIME EVERRRR WE F**KING DID IT thank you GOD this is our first but it damn sure won’t be our last ! I love y'all so much HOUSTON WE GOT ONE,” she wrote on social media at the time.

Meg has even more to celebrate as she's up for five awards at the 2020 BET Awards, including Best Female Hip Hop Artist and Best Collaboration. She will also be performing on the show. The awards will take place virtually this Sunday (June 28).
