According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department is "officially looking into" Megan Thee Stallion's claim that she was shot multiple times, and Tory Lanez is reportedly being investigated as the potential shooter.
Sources told the outlet, "detectives have now opened an assault with a deadly weapon investigation into what allegedly happened early Sunday morning (July 12) shortly before cops pulled over Tory's chauffeur-driven SUV in the Hollywood Hills."
An insider recently told TMZ, Tory allegedly shot Megan's feet as she exited the SUV following an argument.
While Tory has not been named a suspect, law enforcement sources told the outlet, "cops are lasered in on him." Insiders additionally told TMZ, Tory will claim it was an accident if he is charged for the shooting.
Megan took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 15) to reveal that she was shot, clarifying reports that claimed she was injured by glass.
“The narrative that is being reported about Sunday’s morning events are inaccurate and I’d like to set the record straight," she began. "On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me."
While Megan did not say who shot her, she disputed claims that she was arrested, as footage recently surfaced of her allegedly being detained by police.
"I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets," the 25-year-old rapper wrote. "I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night. I’m currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible.”
She additionally captioned the post, "I was never arrested. This whole experience was an eye opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy."
Tory was arrested and booked for possession of a concealed weapon after officers found a handgun in the car on Sunday.
