Music legend Elton John announced Wednesday that his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" will return to North America in 2022, kicking off in New Orleans.
"I've been enjoying my time at home with my family while the world navigates its way through the COVID pandemic, but I really miss being on the road and performing for my beloved fans on my 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour,'" he said in a video posted on Twitter. "While the scientists are making great progress, we are making big plans for a return to touring that will allow us to ensure the health and safety of everyone."
The award-winning tour will resume in late 2021 in Europe and the United Kingdom before taking it international in 2022. He will kick off his North American tour at New Orleans' Smoothie King Center on January 19.
So what are his plans for the next year?
"Don't worry about me. I'm using my downtime to keep myself fighting fit and healthier than ever," he said. "I'm rearing to go."
