John Legend was pictured for the first time since he and his wife Chrissy Teigen lost their child halfway through the pregnancy.
In images obtained by The Sun, the R&B musician appeared to look glum and heartbroken during Friday’s (October 2) grocery trip in Los Angeles. For the outing, Legend wore a long-sleeve yellow shirt, black pants, and sneakers, and kept his face covered with black sunglasses and a black face mask while carrying bags of groceries from Bristol Farms to his car.
It’s the first instance the singer has been spotted in public since learning of the couple’s devastating loss earlier this week. As fans know, Legend and Teigen — who share daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2 — took to social media Wednesday night (September 30) to deliver the heartbreaking news that they’d lost their third child, a son named Jack, due to pregnancy complications after being hospitalized for excessive bleeding.
The "Green Light" star, who has yet to break his silence on the matter, comforted his wife at the hospital following their unfortunate loss.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before,” Teigen shared on Instagram with heartbreaking images of the couple at the hospital. “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”
“Everyday can’t be full of sunshine,” she continued. “On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”
