Amanda Bynes has switched up her aesthetic following her months-long hiatus.
After taking a break from social media, the Nickelodeon alum returned to Instagram this week with an interesting look. Bynes marked her comeback by debuting her new style in a caption-less photo that showed her with black hair and side-swept bangs and an bold choice of attire. In the image, the 34-year-old wears a yellow plaid flannel, a black graphic tee shirt, torn blue jeans, and large glasses.
Apart from her new look, what’s also noticeably different about Bynes’ Instagram presence is that she renamed her IG handle as “Matte Black Online Store.” Even though the Easy A actress turned off the comments for the post, her comeback snap has already gained 32,000 likes.
It’s the first picture we’ve seen of Bynes since she scrubbed her entire account clean in July.
Before then, the star had informed fans of her mental health and teased her plans to launch a fashion line, an achievement she seems to have accomplised during her hiatus. “Update: Getting my Bachelor’s degree from FIDM. Taking online classes, trying to get a 4.0 GPA :]" Bynes wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post back in May. "Looking forward to starting my online store in the future #goals."
It was also in that same post that the She’s the Man star revealed she underwent two months of mental health treatment, where she “worked on coping skills to help with my social anxiety that caused me to drop out of school months ago.”
Anyone privy to Bynes’ pre-deleted Instagram posts knows she also announced that she and her alleged fiance Paul Michael were expecting their first child together. However, this was proven to be false, per her lawyer David Esquibias, who told outlets that his client is not pregnant.
