The Tennessee Titans have reported zero positive COVID-19 tests for the first time in a week.
All Titans players and personnel tested negative during Sunday's round of testing, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport Monday.
Last Tuesday, the franchise closed its facilities amid initial reports of eight positive COVID-19 cases following the team's Week 3 win over the Minnesota Vikings, which also led to the postponing of last Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tennessee then reported more cases each day, which grew to a total of 20 positive tests, including both players and team personnel, over a six-day span.
The Titans will now have to report zero positive COVID-19 cases for consecutive days in order to reopen their facilities. Tennessee's game against the Steelers was rescheduled for Week 7 (October 25) after news of the reported cases last week.
The NFL also rescheduled the Week 4 matchup between the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs to Monday night after both teams reported zero positive tests Monday morning, ESPN reports. The game, which was originally scheduled for Sunday and will broadcast on CBS, was postponed after reports that Patriots starting quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for the coronavirus over the weekend.
New England will travel to Kansas City in two planes, including one designated for 20 players who have been in close contact with Newton, and leave from two different airports but arrive at around the same time, sources told ESPN's Mike Reiss. The Patriots also plan to stay at a hotel for about 2-3 hours before traveling to Arrowhead Stadium for Monday night's game.
