Cardi B has been named Billboard's Woman of the Year 2020 and has a rebuttal for her critics.
After Bardi was given the accolade and heard complaints from online haters, the rapper, 28, took to Instagram on Wednesday (November 18) to share a very Cardi-esque clap back. "For you cry babies like, 'What? She only got one song.' Yeah, I got that song, bitch!” she hit back. "You know the one that sold the most, the one that streamed the most, the one that had Republicans crying on Fox News, the one that is about to be six-times platinum in three months!"
Cardi went on to cite her influence from a cultural viewpoint, saying, "For over a year, I’ve been influencing and using my platform for y’all to vote, not just for when Joe Biden was going against [Donald] Trump. I've been informing y'all about y'all's senators, midterm elections, using my money to meet up with these candidates like Bernie [Sanders], flying out, tired after shows. Yeah that’s me, bitch."
She wasn't having any of the criticism and summed up her intent with final remarks. "I wanted a change, and that’s exactly what the f**k I did. I'm just that bitch. Eat it up with a spoon," she concluded.
Among the other receipts of this year's affair include Jennifer Lopez, who will receive the Icon Award, and Dolly Parton, who will be presented with the Hitmaker Award. Chloe x Halle (Rising Star Award), Dua Lipa (Powerhouse Award), Jessie Reyez (Impact Award), Brianna Agyemang and Jamila Thomas (Executive of the Year Award) will also be honored during the Teyana Taylor-hosted broadcast.
Billboard's 15th annual Women in Music ceremony will air live via its official website starting at 8 p.m. ET on December 10.
