Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are more than ready to make it official!
A source close to the family recently told People, that the couple wants to tie the knot as soon as possible. "This won't be a long engagement," the source said. "There is a reason why Blake proposed now. They are both ready to get married."
The source also revealed that Shelton and Stefani "don't want a huge wedding. They want their family and close friends to attend and that's it."
This new development in their wedding plans comes just several days after the wedding location was revealed. US Weekly reports, the couple plans to get married in a chapel on Shelton's ranch in Oklahoma.
"Blake built a chapel on the grounds of his Oklahoma ranch. He did it himself with help," a source previously shared, adding that Stefani offered "input" on the construction.
"It’s really a tribute to their love," the source continued. "They are going to get married in the chapel, most likely early next year."
Shelton and Stefani met in 2015 on the set of The Voice and started dating shortly after. At the time Shelton had just gone through a very public divorce with Miranda Lambert while Stefani had just ended her marriage with Gavin Rossdale.
The couple announced their engagement on Tuesday, October 27, sharing an adorable engagement photo to Instagram. "Yes please," Stefani simply captioned her post, while Shelton wrote, "Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020 and the rest of my life. I love you. I heard a YES!"
Before proposing, Shelton made sure to ask Stefani's three sons, Kingston, 14, Zuma, 12, and Apollo, 6, for their permission.
"Blake told her boys that he wanted to propose and asked their permission," a source close to Stefani previously told People. "Her family very much approves of him. He's an amazing partner and a great extra dad to the boys. Gwen is ecstatic. The proposal was a surprise."
In addition to Stefani's three sons, Shelton also made sure to talk with other family members before popping the big question. A source told US Weekly that Shelton also asked Stefani's dad, Dennis Stefani, for his blessing before he popped the big question.
"Blake had the ring custom-designed, and asked permission from her dad before asking Gwen," the source revealed. "It meant so much to Gwen that Blake was so traditional about it."
