Bill Cosby Thanks Boosie Badazz For Support In 'Thank You Thursday' Post

Rapper Boosie Badazz received a gratitude and well-wishes in his recovery from a recent shooting and multiple surgeries from the Twitter account of incarcerated comedian Bill Cosby in what the former 'Cosby Show' star said was the first of his planned "Thank You Thursday" Twitter shoutouts.

The verified Twitter account for Cosby, who was convicted of three counts of aggravated indecent assault in 2018 and is serving a sentence of 3-10 years in State Correctional Institution - Phoenix in Skippack Township, Pennsylvania, said the comedian wanted to "pay homage to those who have supported me and my family, simply by saying, thank you."

"The first person to be recognized on Thank You Thursday is Rapper @BOOSIEOFFICIAL," Cosby tweeted along with a photo of the Baton Rouge native. "Thank you for your support & I'm praying for you to have a speedy recovery and for your mobility to be restored. Again, thank you very much."

On Tuesday (December 8,) the rapper shared videos of himself in his new electric wheelchair, which he asked fans to name and said he would pay $100 via Cash App to the person with the best response.

Last month, Boosie announced he planned to undergo a third surgery after being shot in the leg earlier this month, but confirmed he would make his previously scheduled appearance at the 'Boosie Badazz & Renni Rucci Thanksgiving Bash' two days prior to the event, which he attended in a manual wheelchair.

"2 Surgeries On My Leg and 1 More To Go," Boosie tweeted on Tuesday (November 25.)

Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, announced his release from the hospital and denied reports that the shooting would lead to a possible amputation on November 22 via Twitter.

"OUT THE HOSPITAL #athome," Boosie tweeted. "Thanks to all the ones who prayed fa me (praying hands emoji) N YEAH I STILL GOT MY LEG."

On November 19, sources close to the rapper told TMZ Boosie was not getting his foot amputated, contrary to reports, but did undergo surgeries for a gunshot wound. The Baton Rouge native has diabetes, which led to speculation about a possible amputation, but sources confirmed any diabetes-related procedures were limited to his pre-surgery diet.

Boosie was shot in the leg on November 14 near the Big T's Plaza strip mall in Dallas while in town to pay his respects to friend and collaborator Mo3, who was fatally shot three days prior on Interstate 35E.

Dallas Police said Boosie was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle and refused to speak to officers when they arrived, according to a police report obtained by NBC DFW.

Dallas Police released surveillance images of a suspect linked to the murder of Mo3, but have not confirmed whether that shooting and the one involving Boosie are connected or whether any arrests have been made in either case, NBC DFW reports.
