As demonstrations unfold around the country, supporters of President Donald Trump in Fresno County held their own rally and parade in Clovis on Wednesday, January 6.
The rally entitled "Stop the Steal! Stand For Trump," was attended by over 100 individuals. The demonstration started at the Sierra Vista Mall park before caravanning through Clovis and Fresno, according to GV Wire's David Taub.
The rally in Clovis coincided with the protesters-turned-rioters who stormed and infiltrated the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. on Wednesday morning.
The riot at Capitol Hill broke out as Congress prepared to certify the Electoral College's votes which confirmed Joe Biden's presidential win.
The organizer of the Clovis rally Crissy Corpus told GV Wire that she believes the election was riddled with voter fraud.
“Our president is in trouble. We know that our election was stolen," said Corpus. "We know that there was voter fraud. And we’re here to stand for our president and to say that we know what happened and something has to change."
Clovis City Councilman Vong Mouanoutoua was reportedly in attendance.
Although he believes Biden was the rightful winner, he says he was supporting an event that proved people can rally peacefully.
He believes the election process should move forward.
“If someone has the evidence, show it," said Mouanoutoua. "If the time has passed, let’s move forward because it’s time to also move forward because we need it and we need to get together as well."
