Washington Is One Of The Best States To Raise A Family

People often think about the "where" when it comes to raising a family. School systems, taxes, career opportunities and other features are something to consider when making the big change. Some states in America may have better features than others.

WalletHub did a study help people figure out where it's best to raise their unit, ranking each state from No. 1 (best) to No. 50 (worst). They looked at factors like income, unemployment rates and housing affordability.

So where does Washington rank?

According to the website, the Evergreen State made it into the Top 10! Specifically, it came in the No. 8 spot. Researchers did ding Washington for being among the states with the least affordable housing, however.

When it comes to Washington's neighbors, Oregon was ranked at No. 21 while Idaho was placed at the No. 34 spot.

"While the COVID-19 pandemic has made moving difficult at the moment, a vaccine is on the horizon," writer Adam McCann said. "Hopefully by late 2021, families can start considering moving to a state that will better fit their needs and desires."

Here is the Top 10 from the list:

  2. Minnesota
  3. North Dakota
  4. New York
