Here Are The Utah Residents That Can Get A COVID-19 Vaccine Right Now

With the global coronavirus pandemic ravaging plans all throughout 2020, many are eager to get the COVID-19 vaccination.

So who is currently eligible for the vaccine in Utah?

Utah's vaccine distribution will be held at a county level, which means that each resident's experience will be different depending on where they live.

Governor Spencer Cox said that it would slow the distribution process down to roll out vaccines at a state level.

He stated, "That's the only way we could do this, it's the only way we could simplify it is to do it by geographic region and to use the infrastructure that is already in place."

According to KSL, here is everyone that is eligible right now for the vaccination:

  • those living or working in long-term care facilities
  • all k-12 school teachers or staff
  • all first responders and health care workers

Cos said on Monday, "Every school district is already working with their local health department to determine how that is going to be done and delivered."

Individuals over the age of 70 will be eligible to receive the vaccine during the next round.

Anyone that has had COVID-19 within the last 90 days is not eligible for the vaccination.
