A Mesa woman was arrested for refusing to pull over during a traffic stop, reported AZ Family. The woman told police that she "felt like it was the right thing to do."
Hannah Clevenger was weaving in and out of her lane at over 70 miles per hour, and splitting the lane line of two lanes with her car near Alma School Road and University Drive. The incident happened at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
After the police officer pulled up behind Clevenger with his lights on, the officer said that she looked at hm through her rear view mirror and again through her side view mirror but still failed to stop.
The officer then activated his siren to get her attention, but it still didn't help and she kept driving.
Once the two reached a red light, Clevenger stopped her car. When the officer go out to talk to her, she "just stared at him without saying a word."
When the stoplight turned green, Clevenger took off. She was found at her home on Wednesday, where she was arrested.
According to the police, Clevenger told the officer that she remembered the officer and that she didn't stop for him "because it felt like it was the right thing to do."
Clevenger was booked for an unlawful flight from law enforcement, a Class 5 felony.
