Limited Number Of Fans Allowed To Attend March Madness Games

College basketball fans will be allowed to attend this year's March Madness games in Indiana, but capacity with be capped at 25%.

The NCAA announced the decision to allow fans at the tournament on Friday, and that up to a 25% capacity will be allowed at all rounds, including the Final Four.

All 67 games will be played in Central Indiana, but 55 will be held in Indianapolis. The six hosting venues are Lucas Oil Stadium, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, Mackey Arena, Hinkle Fieldhouse and Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

The league clarified that the 25% capacity includes the teams, coaches, staff members, players' families, and other event participants. So while 25% of Lucas Stadium's max capacity is 17,500, less than 17,500 fans will be allowed in for games.

"The decision to allow up to 25% capacity with physical distancing was made in conjunction with state and local health authorities due to the COVID-19 pandemic," the NCAA said in a statement.

All fans will have to wear masks and socially distance at games.

Indiana University announced that 500 spectators will be allowed at games played at Assembly Hall on March 18-20, the Indy Star reported.

The tournament begins on March 18.
