Dallas Mavericks Donated $1.25M To Various Winter Storm Relief Efforts

The Dallas Mavericks helped those affected by the recent winter storm in a big way, reported NBC DFW.

The organization donated $1.25 million to the Mayor's Disaster Relief Fund and other sources for winter storm relief.

According to the team and Dallas officials, players Dwight Powell, Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Maxi Kleber made donations to relief efforts, as well as owner Mark Cuban and President and CEO Cynt Marshall.

The Mavs Foundation and Chime, the team's official jersey partner, also contributed.

There was $1.1 million in total donated to the Mayor's Disaster Relief Fund, while $150,000 went to other relief efforts including emergency and homeless shelters.

Marshall said in a statement, "I am always touched by the generosity of our owner. When my boss donates $1 million, it encourages the rest of us to show up and give. I also am very proud of our players who have always stepped up during our city’s time of need. This money will go a long way to get these organizations back on their feet. We are heartbroken knowing that there are so many misplaced, hungry and cold Texans in our area and the Mavs and Chime are here to help in any way we can."
