3 People Stung Multiple Times By Massive Swarm Of Bees At Phoenix Hotel

Three people were stung by a swarm of bees at a Phoenix hotel on Wednesday, reported AZ Family.

The three individuals were stung multiple times. One victim, a 37-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The other two victims only suffered minor injuries.

The incident took place at the Quality Inn near 47th Street and Thomas Road.

According to Phoenix fire officials, it is still unclear what caused the bees to become aggressive, but a beekeeper has been called to the hotel to assess the situation.

A different bee expert said that he has been getting multiple calls of bee-related issues every day. He said it is because bees are on the move this time of year to find a new hive.

Dan Punch, owner of Punch Honey Bee Company, said, "It can seem very chaotic when they're moving and the queen, well, she's heavy and she doesn't fly very much so she gets tired and she'll land on a branch or something like that and all the bees will kind of do this and it will seem pretty chaotic and once they realize where she is, they will all kind of gather in one group and eventually turn into a ball of bees."

If you come across a swarm of bees, Punch said to go inside some place and turn on the air conditioner since bees don't like the cold. He said to never swat at the bees.
