A Douglas County woman came out of a restaurant in Castle Rock to find her windshield smashed and a large rock near the car.
"I just assumed somebody had maybe come by and threw a rock at it, I was curious as to why anybody would do that in broad daylight," the woman, Krista Keller, told FOX31.
So she decided to call the Castle Rock Police Department.
After a few days of investigating and checking nearby surveillance cameras, they found the suspect.
“It was probably one of the funniest calls I’ve ever received. He said I have good news bad news. The good news is we found out who did it," said Keller. "The bad news they are only 10 inches tall."
In a slowed down surveillance video, a crow can be seen flying over Keller's car and dropping a large rock directly onto her windshield.
“My husband and I were pleasantly surprised that rather than it being an act of vandalism, it really turned out to be a lighthearted story,” said Keller. “With all the craziness in the world right now, it’s fun to get a chuckle out of it.”
Officers at Castle Rock PD also had a lot of fun with the freak incident.
“A lot of puns were flying around … no pun intended," Castle Rock PD's public information officer, Taylor Temby told FOX31. "It was actually one of my commanders that said ‘no harm no fowl. Well, maybe a little harm from a little fowl."
