Authorities in Wilson County are searching for the person responsible for starting a fire at a Lebanon home last month with an incendiary device, WKRN reports. A reward is now being offered for information about the suspect.
The Wilson County Sheriff's Office is teaming up with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to investigate the incident and identify the suspect responsible. ATF Special Agent in Charge Mickey French said the fire broke out April 6 at a residence in Lebanon after a Molotov cocktail incendiary device was thrown through the window of the home.
French called the incident random and a "violent crime," WKRN reports, especially since there was someone inside the home at the time. The person was able to put out the fire.
The ATF and Wilson County Sheriff's Office are offering a $2,500 reward for more information about the incident and the person suspected of setting the fire.
"Anybody that might have saw anything in that neighborhood that they thought was suspicious," said French said. "People walking around, vehicles ... descriptions of those types of incidents are always helpful."
To provide a tip or any information about the crime, call the ATF at 888-ATF-TIPS or the Wilson County Crime Stoppers at 615-444-5245.
