For a city with a craft beer scene, Denver has been seeing more and more bars with non-alcoholic beverages.
The state's first sober bar opened in Jefferson Park in May.
"It's a radical notion that you can be social and not drink," the owners of Awake, Christy and Billy Wynne said when they opened. "Part of what we want to do is to change that."
Just a month later, another Denver-based non-alcoholic bar experience has opened.
Grüvi, a pop-up tasting lounge pouring non-alcoholic beer, wine, and cocktails, launched on June 18 at 1455 South Pearl Street.
“Grüvi is all about showcasing that you can have fun, enjoy social settings and be yourself without alcohol to do that,” co-founder Anika Sawni told Westword. “We want to provide a space where people can come here and socialize.”
Sawni founded the company with her brother Nikiin back in 2019.
The pop-up is located in Denver's Platt Park neighborhood and has a patio and backyard.
“Denver is the perfect place for us to open up our Grüvi lounge. On the one hand, we all know Denver is a craft-beer/brewery mecca. It’s a part of the culture here but often it’s not the alcohol we’re seeking but the setting, hanging out with friends and enjoying a delicious brew,” Sawni told The Know.
The Grüvi Taproom is open Thursday through Sunday. You can find more information here.
