The All-Star game at Coors Field is just one week away and downtown Denver is already preparing for the huge crowds.
Many restaurants owners say this is the boost in business that the downtown area has been waiting for.
"Ecstatic," Samantha Taxin, general manager of Cherry Cricket Ballpark on Blake Street told 9NEWS. "We are so glad Coors Field is back to full capacity."
The Rally Hotel in McGregor Square opened up just a few weeks before the Major League Baseball announced that the All-Star game would be moving to Denver.
"We are fully booked, which is exciting to say," said Tiffany Owen, who manages reservations at the hotel.
As fans began to flood into the city, many businesses are worried about staffing shortages due to the lingering effects of the ongoing pandemic.
"We're doing a quick-hire buyout labor process just for the next 10-14 days for people to come help us out during the All-Star Game," Evan Flood, assistant director of human resources at the Denver Sheraton told Denver7.
The All-Star Weekend events kick off on Friday, July 9 with Play Ball Park opening at the Colorado Convention Center downtown. Fans will be able to practice batting and play softball, bid on memorabilia, and get autographs.
The All-Star Game itself happens on Tuesday, July 13 at 5:30 P.M.
