Everybody loves good food.
It's even better when it’s a local specialty that isn’t recreated quite the same way anywhere else.
You might need to get seafood along the coast, barbecue in the South or anything else in between. Luckily, the Daily Meal highlighted the one food you need to try in every state. The ultimate foodie hub shared its findings earlier this summer. Its team compiled the list by seeking guidance from locals and determining how available it is — or isn’t — outside of its home state, among other criteria.
The Daily Meal notes:
“There are certain dishes across the country that are undeniably iconic, but for this list, we’re showcasing regional specialties that are somehow just not as good outside of their home state — if you’re even able to find them elsewhere.”
Buckeyes.
The tasty treat will satisfy your sweet tooth while serving as a nod to “the nuts that grow on a buckeye tree, which used to cover Ohio’s landscape,” the Daily Meal reads. It also notes that “you can follow the Ohio Buckeye Candy Trail” to find the best buckeyes statewide.
