What To Know About The Seattle Pop-Up Selling Tea-Infused Ice Cream

Seattle is not just home to coffee drinkers. Many residents love to sip on tea with their meals or snacks, as well.

With that said, what happens when you have a concept where all your ice cream is infused with tea? You got Milk + Leaf!

At Milk + Leaf, you have 10 delicious flavors to pick from along with simple yet yummy toppings. For example, if you get popcorn oolong, you get a serving of milk oolong ice cream and caramel popcorn sprinkled on top. PNW Jasmine is jasmine green tea ice cream paired with raspberry granola.

But this ice cream isn't available most of the month. They do two pop-ups a month at Distant Worlds Coffee in Roosevelt. Pre-orders go live a week before the scheduled pop-up, and they have limited walk-ins at the location the day of business.

As for flavors, they always bring four -- one vegan, one new, and another chosen from the popular vote on Milk & Leaf’s Instagram page.

What's just as interesting as the ice cream is the process behind it. Harrison Davis told Seattle Refined he wasn't the biggest coffee fan but would catch up with friends over tea later in his life. Add in that he was an ice cream lover since he was a kid, and Milk + Leaf was born.

“Ice cream was always something my family would talk over... I just love those two social foods, so I thought I’ll bring them together," Davis said. “I usually drink tea at home and have this snack along with it. I think, ‘this will work great!’ and then I'll try it as an ice cream and adjust accordingly. It’s not a very exact process.”

Milk + Leaf's next pop-up will be Sunday, August 15 at Distant Worlds Coffeehouse in Roosevelt. For more information about their upcoming pop-ups, click here.
