Whenever we watch a show on TV, we are instantly transported into their world. Some people explore life in a small town while others live it up in the big city, and we get to tag along for the ride.
Every state in the U.S. has been featured in a TV show throughout the years, and Insider set out to determine which was the most popular in each state.
"We looked at how many awards any given show has won or was nominated for using IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, as well as its cultural impact in today's world to determine the most famous TV show in every state."
So what is the most popular TV show set in North Carolina?
One Tree Hill
While Outer Banks is one of the newer shows set in the Tar Heel State, One Tree Hill remains the top dog in terms of popularity. And with nine seasons worth of drama, it's no wonder why. Here's what Insider had to say about the show:
