Kai Beckstrand, a 15-year-old Utah teen from St. George, is one of the youngest competitors on American Ninja Warrior this year, reported Deseret News. The teen crushed the course, zooming through the first eight obstacles. On the ninth obstacle, called The Dungeon, he struggled a bit.
Beckstrand wasn't going to give up. He held his grip and kept climbing up and made it through. The announcer shouted, "We thought he was done, but we were wrong!"
Beckstrand zoomed through the tenth and final obstacle. He was smiling ear to ear when he slammed on the buzzer at the finish. The teen was one of only 12 competitors that completed the whole course, according to the American Ninja Warrior Nation website.
Kai's father Brian Beckstrand cheered, "I'm so proud!" Both Kai and his father made history on the show earlier this season as the first father and son duo to make it to the semifinals together.
Unfortunately, Brian's run on the show came to an end on Monday night, falling during one obstacle that booted seven others out of the competition as well.
Kai said on Monday's episode, "Me and my dad do everything together. He's just the best training partner I could ever have."
