Hours after taking home a win at the ACM Honors 2021, Luke Combs dropped something new in time for the college football season, which kicks off September 2.
On Thursday (August 26), the longtime college football fan dropped a new track titled "South On Ya" in honor of the new season of SEC football. The three-minute cut is set to pump fans up as the SEC network's 2021 college football anthem and will be played during commercials, pre-game shows and more.
"Man, this is pretty special," Combs said in an official statement. "In the beginning of my career, I spent a lot of my time playing my music all over towns within the SEC. The fact that one of my songs is now such a big part of the Network is really cool to me. It feels like a full circle moment, for sure. I am a huge fan of the SEC and am honored my song was chosen to be a part of it.”
Earlier in the week, Combs dropped the music video for his latest single, "Cold As You," which included nods to his past. "My team and I are always keeping the fans in mind with everything we do and the fact that we were able to implement so many 'Easter eggs,' including characters from my past music videos, was really cool. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as we do," Combs in a press statement for the new video.
