The New England Patriots are reportedly making two defensive tackles available for potential trades.
Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reports Montravius Adams and Akeem Spence are names to watch on the trading block as the Patriots have "solicited interest in their defensive line depth" prior to Tuesday's (August 31) deadline.
Both players are recent additions to New England's roster with Adams, 26, joining the Patriots in March after spending his first four seasons with the Green Bay Packers and Spence, 29, singing to the team's practice squad last November and making six appearances late in the 2020 season.
New England does, however, have plenty of other options at defensive line with Lawrence Guy, Davon Godchaux, Henry Anderson, Deatrich Wise, Carl Davis and rookie Christian Barmore.
The Patriots have already made two trades during the past week, which included sending former first-round pick Sony Michel to the Los Angeles Rams and acquiring cornerback Shaun Wade from the Baltimore Ravens in order to add depth to the position.
New England was also uncharacteristically busy during free agency, spending a total of $162.5 million in guaranteed money on free agents, including several who were on their roster last season, during the first day of legal tampering in March.
Both Adams and Spence have four years of NFL experience entering the 2020 season.
