One Arizona woman is thanking her Apple Watch, giving it credit for saving her life, reported Fox News.
Yoli De Leon from Tucson said that she felt a flutter in her chest right before she was about to take a walk back in June. The 70-year-old woman was thankfully wearing an Apple Watch that day.
De Leon looked down at her watch and saw that it was displaying a message telling her to receive urgent medical attention.
De Leon told Fox, "It said my heart rate was 174. It said 'you are in AFib' and said 'call your doctor immediately.'"
De Leon didn't waste any time and headed to her local hospital. There, she underwent many different tests, such as an electrocardiogram. Doctors told her that her condition was "life-threatening" and that her Apple Watch was right about how serious her condition was.
De Leon remained in the hospital for a week with Atrial Fibrillation. This condition causes an irregular heartbeat that can cause blood clots, stroke, heart failure, and more.
De Leon wanted to thank Apple for the tool that saved her life so she reached out to Apple's CEO Tim Cook. Cook responded rapidly, writing, "I'm so glad you sought medical attention and received the treatment you need. Thanks for sharing your story with us. It inspires us to keep pushing forward."
