Less than a month since his DUI scandal, Sam Hunt is on the verge of a musical comeback.

On Tuesday (September 7), the country singer teased a brand-new single titled "23" that is scheduled to drop on Thursday. In a 23-second clip, the star is seen visiting a recording studio with his bandmates. The singer previewed "23" in 2020 when he shared an acoustic performance of the song as part of a virtual music festival amid the height of the COVID-19 lockdown. "No matter where I go/ No matter what I do/ I'll never be 23 with anyone but you," he crooned during the track’s teaser. The song is set to drop at 6am ET.

“23" will follow Hunt's preview of "Came the Closet," an acoustic demo that he teased in June. It arrived almost a year after the release of his second studio album, Southside, which dropped in April 2020. Earlier this year, he also released his Sasha Sloan collab, "When Was It Over?"

Hunt will be performing at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas later this month. Fans can tune in to watch the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival via an exclusive livestream on The CW App and CWTV.com. The festival will also be broadcast live on iHeartMedia radio stations throughout the country across more than 150 markets. Additionally, the CW Network will broadcast a two-night television special on Saturday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 3rd from 8-10pm ET/PT. Tickets are currently on sale via AXS.com.
