A popular Mexican food truck was destroyed in a fire after a car crashed into it on Monday (September 20)
According to KARE 11, the well-known little, red Mexican food truck was on E Lake Street and 12th Ave South, serving up some food when a car hit the truck, causing it to go up in flames while one of the owners, Leticia Flores was inside.
"My dad actually got the call that the food truck was on fire, and he was like, 'how? I was just there five minutes ago,'" Nelcy Flores, the owner's daughter, told KARE 11. "And they're like your wife was in the truck, you need to get here now, and we thought the worst. We thought my mom was stuck inside while the flames were there. But thankfully a gentleman named Lucio, he pulled her out in time before the fire reached her."
Luckily, Leticia was rescued before the truck was completely engulfed in flames. Nelcy says her mother suffered from broken ribs, scrapes on her legs and damage to her pelvic bone.
A GoFundMe was created to help the family. In a post on the fundraising page, Nelcy wrote that her mother will not be able to walk without a walker and will have to go through a lot of physical therapy.
