Sacramento has its very own superhero thanks to writer and creator Brent Trayce Sands, who runs the Impound Comics storefront which had its grand opening in August.

He first launched his Sacramento-centric comic book series in November 2020 and now he's hoping to get it to the big screen as a live-action movie.

"An epic new comic series based in Sacramento, CA surrounding the dark journey of our hero, Anthony Impound Endsley," reads the series synopsis on the Impound Comics website. "Anthony is a single father and struggling MMA fighter who finally lands the fight of his career. Unfortunately, his success sparks interest from Christ Jones and the Holy Mafia that turns for the worse. Motivated by vengeance, Anthony develops the strength to defeat his enemies."

Sands has partnered with Sacramento director Mikey Rare to create the movie trailer above. The full version of the Impound trailer will drop on February 28, which is also the day a Kickstarter campaign will start to raise funds to shoot the movie.

In an interview with FOX40, Sands said he was inspired to start creating comics after watching Marvel's Black Panther, which was directed by Sacramento State alum Ryan Coogler.
